    a teflon spray on the patterns before epoxy might help in releasing

    John,
    What “wax” product did you use on the 3rd/last mold that peeled easily? And what were the dye products?
    Great video!!

    Incredible John. Many thanks for sharing. Out of interest, how much epoxy did you use for the Three patterns?

    • @bluescreekguitars3346
      @bluescreekguitars3346 Год назад +1

      about 3 oz

    • @bluescreekguitars3346
      @bluescreekguitars3346 Год назад +1

      that made 3 pick guards. I use those small cups to mix the color into the resin then hardener then mix together. Start light and keep adding color. I just drop and swish.

    Thanks for sharing this! Do you know if there is a long term shrinkage factor? I'm guessing nowhere near celluloid.

      I find using the system 3SB112 no shrinkage on pick guard for 10 yrs

    This is awesome, I’m looking for a cream vintage looking teardrop pickguard that’ll fit my Martin 000-16 Streetmaster. Do you make these and sell them?

      I don't make the cream color but with the proper dye I am sure you can/ Look at stew mac and LMI see if they don't stock them

    What is the material you used for the form?

    Just want to be clear - your moulds or patterns are just flat, right? You put a thin puddle of resin on them and it flows out flat enough to use without any further finishing?

    Did you mean SB-112 epoxy instead of SB-12?
