It really was a nice touch. Bill Wurtz intentionally left a 'moment of silence' for a few seconds to let it sink in, and that flag was a subtle, gentle way of saying 'it happened, we acknowledge it, now on to more history'.

8:17 "The USA was working on a large, very huge bomb"
Japanese: Clears throat...
I’m actually pretty sure that the mongols that died in a tornado was the origin of the word kamikaze because the Japanese thought that the typhoons were caused by the gods wind (heavenly winds) and thus the word was born.
Yeah, you're right about that.
The Kamikaze attacks in WW2 were also famously kind of terrible but because so few pilots were returning after the tactic was used, Japanese officers didn't know how unsuccessful they were and kept doing it.
The tactic pretty much only served to frighten allied soldiers but even that wasn't worth it because they lost so many pilots and planes.
No...
During the 1st invasion, Mongolians died by “Strong wind” (not typhoon or tornado)
Their army lost to the samurai and took a rest in Tsushima on the way to escape from Japan, where there was a big wind. (Tsushima was occupied earlier and used as a relay point)
It’s same for the 2nd time except that the “Strong Wind” might have been typhoon.
