They forgot to mention to them the rather important fact that Bill Wurtz composed, arranged and performed all 20 minutes of music in that video. There are virtually no pauses, and he almost never repeats or loops any of it. Next time you watch the video, close your eyes and try listening to just how much sound is going on all the time. It's crazy. A lot of people seem to think that the only real thing behind Bill Wurtz' 'History Of' videos is video editing and underestimate just how much effort he puts into the sound. There's many other people on RUclips who can edit a video as well as Bill Wurtz. But how many of those people could do that and compose and perform 20 minutes worth of completely original music, and still be clever and hilarious? Not many. That's just how talented Bill Wurtz is.
As a high school sophomore in 2017, I can confirm that the morning this was released was the morning of the AP World History exam... THAT is why it blew up the morning it was uploaded. Bill knew.
Honestly, there's one big reason that the video went so viral the day it was posted, that none of the RUclipsrs mentioned. The day after he uploaded the video was the AP World History exam, nationwide. So while everybody was cramming all their studying the night before, they found that video, got info out of it, and shared it to their friends, who did the same. It went viral because he saved millions of test-takers!
A cut-down version? That defeats the purpose of 'the entire world' part of the video. Come on; if this was their first time, let them enjoy the full piece; it's like asking someone to give their opinion on a movie you've selectively spliced. 20 minutes isn't THAT long a time; of course you'll need to condense their reactions for the purpose of your own video, but i'm more interested in their enjoyment and full experience of this masterpiece.

No my school did not teach me the history of the entire world, in fact out of that video I learned very little of the topics mentioned, if any. So perhaps you should stop generalising peoples experiences.

One of the reasons I get so many views is because it was released the night before the AP world history exam. So all the AP world history students in the US were watching this
The first time I watched the original video, I went back 10 seconds because I didn’t understand something due to the fast pacing. It was then that I realised, in these 10 seconds, I went through the life spans of at least 5 generations
