As for mangaka, you managed to give a lot of informations without being in the typical "Mangaka video in Japan". not every country is perfect, every country has their flaws. and a lot of countries try to hide the bad things they've done in the past, same goes with Japan, Japan might seem perfect and calm but it's holding a dark secret.
@@soothingbromides It's called Honne and Tatamae. Everyone is watching you, so you're always self-conscious about the ramifications of your actions. It is very stressful. Yes its the monthly or even weekly chapter system they have in place. If a mangaka creates something like a naruto they should be given some grace time to have a volume ahead, then afterwards multiple assistants to the point they act as a director. The manga industry is so cut throat it doesnt allow this. Every issue you could be on the chopping block

This video is excellent, as a illustrator I see this as a great inspiration, anime was one of the first things to give me the strength to try drawing, seeing a professional mangaka is without a doubt something that makes you want to have everything he has there in his workroom and the way he makes time to enjoy his work colleagues and the responsibility he has for his work is admirable!
As readers we probably flip through 20 pages in like 5 minutes and don't think twice about the many, many hours and hard work that go into just a few minutes of entertainment.
I feel the same about animation. Hell even chapter books are the same, a book can be in the making for years but is never picked up or will be read within hours for the consumer. That's why it makes me mad that people won't pay the artist. It's one thing if you don't want the product, but if you are asking and want it then you should be paying them. Even if it's small it's the hours and appreciation that you are paying for not the product itself. I think people should really look at how someone makes something and see what it takes to make a movies, book video or even a small necklace. Then I think they'd have more appreciated for the products and the people making them.
We are paying money for it so its okay. Do you expect us to keep seeing it for a week too?! Thats like saying you have to eat the food for an hour too just to appriciate the chef. But sometimes I open a manga page and see it for a couple of minutes and praise the mangaka's art.
your brain is probably processing through all the detail but whitout let you consciously noticing it while you're reading, that's why even smallest detail is of capital importance, just imagine reading a manga with good history but rough drawing, you'll probably think this is not a good artwork even if the story is good.

But because they get huge amounts of money.
They are not forced to be a manga artist.
They volunteer to write manga on their own.
And once a comic is a hit, they make enough money that they don't have to serialize it for the rest of their lives.
@@user-gx9xf2zb6o making a manga is also about the passion the author puts in to the story, so just ending it when you have enough money is highly unlikely for someone to do. Even for novel writers.

As reader, I really do. But as artist, I hold the page sometimes, watch at it and think like “jeez, I really love the artstyle, mangaka did his best”
