This is my favorite episode so far BY FAR. I absolutely love the Final Fantasy series and most Square Enix games. Not only is Rubi extremely talented (I just checked some of her work), her work day seemed rather normal and she was able to leave after work while there is still sunlight. The offices are incredible and I enjoyed seeing all of the props and illustrations spread around the office. Which reminds me of the SE offices in London. Sounds like a dream job.

@@TheGrreatDane My younger brother is hearing impaired, but loves music: he feels it. Taught himself bass, then guitar, then drums, and though he was 100%, his friends with instruments not so much. He has wife and family, but still made time for what he loved: hard rock and metal. He played local gigs, had interest, but not enough local support. Again though, life issues with band members led to his hanging his guitars on the wall, and those who could not give local support now want to talk of the 'good old days' now that we're in our 50's. I have nothing but contempt for them: if you can't do something, then state it plainly, instead of ambiguous maybes.

Until she wakes up one day and realizes she is 35+, not married and no kids, and realize she is actually pretty unhappy with life. It’s the same story in every country 😏
@@sakuyakizume First, what I said is indeed the case for women in general. In other words, what I said is how majority of the women feel when they come to that point. There can most certainly be odd balls, but the reality is that usually, what I said holds true. That being said, how people present themselves in public, and how they present themselves to their psychiatrist is usually way different. Look at how many celebrities end up committing suicide and such that no one saw coming, and they had everything they could want. You say that doing what you love is what brings happiness. Truth is, it actually doesn’t. Why? Because what people identify as the thing that will make them happy if they can do it is usually always changing. What usually happens with people who continue to enjoy doing what they thought would make them happy once upon a time, is a case of mental fortitude. They will actively dismiss the things they face in their chosen path and just keep working at it. Usually, it will also be a higher hurdle to change jobs anyway. Take your teacher. She cannot just change her teacher path to becoming an engineer, a consultant, a medical doctor, or even get married very suddenly. Now, why is it that women usually feel unhappy without children and family? It’s biology. Something you realize as you grow older is that the biggest cause for sadness is knowing you had the potential, but missing out on it because you didn’t realize the importance at the time. In this sense, every woman had the potential to bring new persons into the world, while also having someone to take care of them when they are old. Instead, she realizes that she slaved away for a company that will not care one bit about her as a person. All they see in her is whether she is a productive worker. Once she retires, she will likely end up in a nursing home and die without anyone by her bedside. THAT is something women realize when they are around the 35 mark. And no, it’s not projection.

I would love to see a Day in the Life of Paolo to show my prospective filmmakers the work it takes to make the video. They thought you really did just walk in and start talking to people and I explained you probably worked to get approval from the company, then found people to interview, and prepared questions in advance, not to mention the actual filmmaking and editing. We would love to see it!!

You can tell she’s devoted to her work when she said her favorite was Zell from Final Fantasy 8.
A very underrated gem of a game that often gets overlooked.

As a gamer, I LOVED this episode and can't even imagine all the hoops you had to jump through but I just want to say 'Thank you' for jumping through them for us!
Amazing! I love everyone involved in the process of making this video! Thank you, Paolo!
Man, I love this episode. As an artist myself, it's always so much fun to see other artists making beautiful works!
The fact you get to do this series with someone from Square Enix and show how it is there is already something! Can’t imagine how was the process to make all of this happen. Congrats on this achievement Paolo! Probably your best Day in the Life so far. :)
I've watched many of your videos, but somehow this one slipped under the radar. I am a massive fan of Square Enix, and wanted to just say that you did an incredible job covering this. Well done to both of you!
As a FFXIV player/addict this is a dream video. I can't believe you got full access to the studio. It looks like a very progressive place to work with very talented staff.
I'm sure the hoops to get into Square Enix were massive, on fire, and moving at random patterns. Congrats and thank you for all the hard work to bring us such an exclusive day in the life of!
Hell yeah I love these day in a life. Hopefully Meiko is doing a lot better.
I am not the only one who is amazed at the hoops you had to go through for this filming ! Also its amazing that these guys are responsible for series of games that are globally known and you got to just hang out with them for the day. Another fantastic "Day in the life" video. Loving these !
She's so talented, lots of final fantasy games helped me through my life and seeing her create the designs and graphics for covers etc is so amazing, good work Paolo!
Rubi comes off as such a confident woman! From the way she carries herself, to how she interacts with others while working. Respectful, but dignified. Loved watching her!

I've always love Paolo's "Day in the life of" series but this is just the bee's knees! A Day in the Life of a Square-Enix employee! The work it must of taken to secure this must have been immense. This is amazing. I've always wanted to be in the game industry. Life took me in a different - and still quite fulfilling direction - but nevertheless it's nice to live vicariously through these videos. Thank you so much!!!

@@persnikitty3570 I feel you. One key aspects the video states is that her parents were supportive of her career choice to become an Illustrator. I'm such a big fan of the FF series so seeing an illustrator working for Square Enix plus inside the Square Enix building...I seriously fangirled. Can't imagine what hoops you had to jump over to get a green light for this. :D Thank you so much for posting this episode.

Until she wakes up one day and realizes she is 35+, not married and no kids, and realize she is actually pretty unhappy with life. It’s the same story in every country 😏
@@eufrosniad994 You don't have to have kids or being married to enjoy your life and what's wrong with being 35+?
@@eufrosniad994 you dont have to project yourself onto strong women on youtube its okay :)
It's so cool you made it into HQ! Seems like they run a tight ship. So impressive how much expertise needs to come together to make games these days. I can't even imagine a mocap session w 10 people across different disciplines collaborating without strangling each other
