My sincerest condolences for you at this time . and i do understand why your uncle watch paulo video because it feels like refreshing to see other people in the world do something that's not very common to us and it is interest us
It seems like gaming companies and other creative types of companies are more liberal when it comes to stuff like appearance. Shuta has dyed hair and the HR dude has a beard. Both I think are often not allowed at most companies. I also noticed this in the Netherlands where I live when I did an internship at Mediamonks, people were very creative mentally but you could also see it in their appearance.
I bet this company reached out to Paolo, I mean this is basically just a 16 minute long commercial for the company, displaying how great they are and showing all of the games they make.
I still think that he probably gets more "no" answers than "yes". At my workplace they would never be cool with a RUclipsr filming the behind the scenes be it 3m followers or 100m.

Somehow every time Paolo shoots "A Day in a Life," the main characters plan to go out with their friends!
7:25 This part is actually pretty wild to me. The code is in English because the companies that made the coding language are usually trying to make it easier for people around the world to code in that language. All the way from Europe to Africa people code in English and most tutorials are in English here on RUclips. It would be a very chaotic world if code was written in different languages.
I was thinking the same! Really impressive, just imagine re-learning coding with the keywords etc being arbitrary symbols or something. I wouldn't be able to do it, haha
I think since the popularity of gacha games and japanese games being translated into worldwide release since their release 5-10 years ago, they started to abandon Japanese coding. When I attended game programming class in Japan in 2013, my lecturer told me that usually when graduates got into any company, they'll start to learn English coding ASAP due to many game studios started to globalize their game during that era. I think nowadays they already shifted the trend into learning the English code because it's easier to port any game to international market that way
@@tsukuneboy True. It does make coding programs from other countries easier. Plus it does make my jaw drop to think that other countries are coding in a foreign language. That would be like being told to learn how to code in Japanese or Russian. Coding in English is already hard enough.
@@FictionHubZAyeah it really sucks for people who dont use the roman numerals, however for those that do its not a big problem, most coding languages have a limited amount of set parameters or namespace function names as part of the directory, and so you can simply name all your classes and variables etc in your own languages but if you dont use roman numerals there might be problems compiling the characters
Hi Paolo I just wanted to let you know that your videos have brought me a lot of joy, especially during a difficult time. I absolutely love these videos, I really hope others emulate this for different countries and cultures but Paolo's channel is the gold standard for Japan content
It's always great seeing more Day in the Life videos, as they always fascinate me, but seeing you just walk up casually to the director of an entire successful franchise of mobile games (Ryoji Tsunoda) just keeps making me think how much effort he puts behind the scenes too.
To be able to do some of these, it is really amazing.
This office is insanely convenient. It makes me work overtime.
I've been sitting on my broken chair at the office for +3 years now. Even though I am a senior R&D engineer.
Happy New Year, everyone! Wow, that looks like a really fun environment to work in. I actually have a friend here in Japan who quit teaching English and moved to Kyoto to work for Nintendo about 10 years back. (He’s American, but his Japanese level is really high.) Anyway, he says it’s hard work, for not much money… but he loves it.
What level of Japanese do you need to do that?
@@DoctorEbot I think my friend had NPT2 at the time, but anyway Nintendo has its own special testing system. But yeah, you have to be pretty fluent.
@@Jordan-inJapan Cool, thanks. I just noticed you have a channel too. I liked your New Years video.
@@DoctorEbot 🍻
Figured Nintendo would pay more maybe he is getting the 外人 rate. Props on him quitting English teaching though. Always great to see your comments.
Let’s go! Another day in the life!
Goodness Paolo...you are just an inspiration. Still baffled at your ability to meet with people quite frequently. Thank you for showcasing the worklife in Japan.
the series keep getting better and better, thank you for bringing a new day in the life episodes!
Wow 7-8 year for that day he must been hella anxious but exciting. I was soo happy when it finally uploaded. Thanks for giving insight to this world as gamer I never think how much time goes into each project. Paolo you’re doing Good work! 🎉😊
I cheered with them after it got uploaded 🎉
i was surprised he just walked out the building that day as if nothing really had happened xD
Being a Game Designer is my dream job 💙 Studying hard to reach that goal! Thank you so much for publishing this video, at least I could have an idea on how Game Designer jobs are in different countries..
How’s it going so far?
@@Brandon-xe8fv I am curious too :D
I binge watched all your “Day in Life” videos and a new one just came out. Great work Paolo 👍
Me too. I ran out of new ones to watch!
I freaking love how neat everthing looks in Japan, As it is still brand new.
Yes first video of the year happy new years paolo
As someone who wants to be a game designer and have some experience on the field at Japan, this video was literally a god sent. Thank you for such an amazing video Paulo!!
I really look forward to this series. It's so refreshing and interesting! Thanks for your hard work Paolo and Happy New Year!
Reminds me of when I worked in tech companies in NYC. Everyone dressed stylishly and much more experienced than you. 😭 people seem much nicer here, though. I like that his friend group is from different departments from his own.
Shuta and I have similar style, too. Minimalist home, wear all black, little to no breakfast, get straight to work, meetings, drinks, games, RUclips, sleep 😴
This is the only thing I wait for. Day in a life videos. Thanks Paolo. Keep uploading more day in a life.
Just wanna say a huge thanks to all the videos you've uploaded! It really helped when we finally got to do our holiday in Japan last year in Dec. 🙏🙏
I downloaded the game they made and it’s fun ❤ no bugs so far or glitches so it’s doing great! Colopl awesome!
Stop at 1:30 flip your phone look at the fridge magnet, you’re welcome 😂😂😂
wish more companies have this kind of work environment, really hope their games do well in the market
Love the day in the Life Video series! It's done so well. Can't wait for new episodes and to see how other people work and live in japan! Thanks Paolo
the joy i felt when i saw that you uploaded cannot be put in words… starting 2023 with a banger thank you paolo!
im actually working on a bachelors degree in game industry just so i can hopefully get a work visa for japan. square enix is my dream company and i hope i will be lucky enough to work there one day.
Anything is possible go for it. Sqenix would be so interesting
Sounds like an awesome dream! Anything is possible!
Is that computer science?
I love this Day in the Life video! Please do one about a employee from Nihon Falcom like a video game composer or a member of Falcom Sound jdk team! They need more attention and global recognition for creating one of my favorite JRPG series.
Creative jobs like that are the best! They merge technology and art! And even though they're probably very stressful the reward is very high.
Quality videos! Thank you for all the effort you put in this series. I enjoy each one that I've watched so far! Can't wait for future ep.
Another AMAZING video about game development in Japan! Man, love this series you're doing now which gives us variety in addition to your original content (ie. restaurants, Japanese food, etc). Keep up the great work Paolo!
YESS LES GOO!! i want to do this when i get older and this is exactly what i was hoping for from ur channel! thank you paolo!!😆✌️
0:43 my man shifted to be near the office, but the office moved away 💀
This video was soooo soothing and interesting 💜 This is now one of my top favorite Day In The Life's along with Shuta being one of my favorite tour guides 😍 Awesome job Paolo! 👏🏼
I was searching almost a single day that when your next video comes out, Welcome back mate ! Hope your family is also doing good
Happy new year Paolo! Hope you, Maiko, and Wovie have an excellent 2023! Great video content, as usual!
As an IT nerd, it was cool to learn their infrastructure is based in GCP.
Another instant classic! Thanks for making these videos Paolo! I'd like to see more blue collar workers and craftsmen in the future! Those are my favorite episodes.
Somehow every time Paolo shoots "A Day in a Life," the main characters plan to go out with their friends!
Not every time, like the Appa hotel guy, anime fan waiter girl, and some others I forgot..
Love this guy's style! And their workplace seems fun.
Would it be possible to do a day in the life of a animator in japan? Loved you mangaka ones and would love to see more of that

This part is actually pretty wild to me.
@@FictionHubZA and they're good at memorizing so even if they don't speak English, they can still excel at it
@@FictionHubZAyeah it really sucks for people who dont use the roman numerals, however for those that do its not a big problem, most coding languages have a limited amount of set parameters or namespace function names as part of the directory, and so you can simply name all your classes and variables etc in your own languages but if you dont use roman numerals there might be problems compiling the characters
I always love the day in the life series, I just started majoring in Game Design so this came out at the perfect time!
Hi Paolo
I just wanted to let you know that your videos have brought me a lot of joy, especially during a difficult time. My uncle recently passed away from cancer, and he and I used to watch your videos together. He was a huge fan of Japanese culture and your videos helped him feel connected to it, even when he couldn't physically travel. I think of him every time I watch one of your videos and it brings me comfort. Thank you for all the hard work you put into creating such wonderful content.
Sorry to hear about your uncle, but please know that Jesus loved you enough to die for your sins and to give you eternal life through his name, if you sincerely repent of all your lies, evil thoughts, lustful desires, selfish ambitions, covetous behaviour and trust in Jesus' finished works on the cross you can receive the Holy Spirit which will give you 100% confirmation of your salvation and save you from hell amen.
@@WhosthatHotspice "Your uncle is probably burning in hell IF he didn't believe in my fairytale and so will you unless you convert to muh religion of the **all loving** god"
The interior design of this company is goals
dude, I just loved this video - honestly.
the people's energy in this company looks great, and all the friends at the all, seems really connected.
i definitely miss this kind of thing since start of the pandemic, where not only me (of course), but most people stopped going to the office, which at the end, there wasn't connection at all with other people.
that being said, i truly wish to be working, similar to this, soon.
again, loved the video!
I would kill for working in a place like this, so awesome and the company seems to really care about their employees!
Hopefully I can some day move to Japan or at least do a project there for my current company...
I love these videos !
Glad you like them!
It was thanks to this :D I downloaded the game to my iPad. It is a lot of fun to play, Shuta and his team did such an amazing job~
Total love, you learn so much of how much work, fun, importance for your health, etc it is while a day in life. These kind of videos teach us alot. Luv it and those who are open to show the world how it is where they work, how they live and feel also, how nice it is for the companies, etc let record.. Great content as always, love all of it on your channel🌻🌻💖💖👏👏
Happy New Year Paolo and family🎉 Great video! My friend got into the game designing business in the 90's. He struggled at the beginning. Now, he's retired and enjoying life. I got into the wrong profession😅
"oh i guess he's starting this morning off with a healthy banana, So healthy!" (proceeds to grab a monster energy drink right afterwards) lmao love your sense of humor paolo.
Hey Paolo! I was thinking, you often do videos of the “Day In The Life of a Japanese x,” but have you ever thought of doing similar videos like these for foreigners who may be living in Japan such as yourself? I think this would make for a very interesting series also!
I think there are plenty of others doing that
Thank you for showing us these videos so ... FANTASTIC !!! It's not often you get to see inside major companies like these... thank you for this top quality content!!! Ciao from Italy !!!
Just downloaded the game after watching this video. What an amazing company to work, the environment looks so chill, clean, people friendly! Dream Job!
This company seems amazing, not like the traditional Japanese companies, focusing on wellness and providing so many amenities and fun decorations for the environment.
Where can I sign up for Colopl! Looks amazing, sometimes jealous to see these amazing workplaces in Japan. Great apartment also, fine episode 🙏❤️
あけおめ!
Thank you so much PAOLOFROMTOKYO on putting content like this. お疲れ様でした!A Day in A Life of Game Designer and the Game Illustrator are one of my top favorites as these are really my dream job from my heart . and in Japan, too!
Yup, new year and this series is still top notch. Really loving these type of in-depth looks at the gaming industry.
I love watching these while planning out my day, it’s so much fun and yet relaxing all at once 😊
I love the series for almost all of them uses their efficient public transport for work & leisure. Tokyo is easy to get around without the hassle of driving & finding a parking slot. I'm a regular visitor & was there 3 weeks ago.
Hoping to visit Japan someday 💫
I like how Paolo casually shows and interviews Ryoji Tsunoda like he's a regular guy in the company passing by 🤣.
who is Ryoji?

@@scrawnykidd2674 thanks for the explanation 🙏🙏
i was so surprised when you did the Japanese game illustrator, I would've thought they would be hard to get through since they're a popular company. I love all the game and manga "day in the life". KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
Welcome back dude hope you and family had a great Christmas and new year
I hope these videos never end. Imagine getting 1 free massage a week in a UK company. They'll be like "You're fired." or "Well yeah, sure, we can do that but you must NEVER leave the office and be willing to accept a £5,000 reduction in your wages per year". Japan on another level.
Nah, companies like this are rare. Working in Japan is very hard
Seeing VAIOs around the office made me curious: are VAIO laptops still popular in Japan?
I loved those laptops way back, they we just so exciting and well thought out!
Yes they are popular. Vaio still develop laptops, but it's not a Sony brand anymore
