- Tokyo Japan - You might have heard of the anime town or Electric Town in Tokyo called Akihabara. It's famous in Tokyo for its anime discount stores and other quirky retro stores selling electronics, manga, anime apparel and toys. Akihabara has the best selection of anime figures I've ever seen in Tokyo. I think it's the top thing to do in Tokyo if you're traveling in Japan as an otaku or if you simply love manga or anime, a huge part of modern Japanese culture. When I was a kid, Akihabara was a place to buy tax-free electronics such as cameras and laptops. But today, as an anime fan myself, I consider Akihabara a fun place and shop for all things anime.

this area is one of the reasons to return to Japan and explore it on your own, and not just briefly from a tourist bus. The figures are obviously all cool.

Do you have to ask for help to purchase the figures in the glass cases? Or are there boxes nearby with them.
Regarding the tip about playing gachapon at the end of the day: we were eating dinner one night, and when it came time to pay, we were told it was cash only. There were no signs warning us this. My husband didn’t have enough money, all I had was a ¥5000 bill, and some coins. After pooling our money together, it looked like we might not have enough, and that one ¥500 gachapon my husband did was going to put us under. Thankfully I managed to find enough coins, but, I had, no lie, ¥2 yen left. What do you do with single yen coins?
Oh my, that would’ve stressed me out. 😅 Sometimes I see clear boxes by the registers in convenience stores with coins in them. I don’t know if they’re for charity cuz I can’t read Kanji.

For me, Tokyo's weather in mid-September is comfortable since I lived in tropical places most of my life. It'll be in the 80s (F). Don't be nervous, everything's gonna be alright.

I'm not sure. I think it depends on the model. There are great 2nd hand camera stores in Tokyo.

It isn't. It's a pride thing, It can be seen as you dont think that the employer doesn't value their employee enough pay them properly.
