I think my desk corner alone has more stuff than he has in his apartment. That's mad impressive that he even made his own things to assist in keeping the item count down while still remaining convenient
Is it that the minimalism allows him to focus on the things that give him joy or that focusing on minimalism, in itself, is the principle thing that gives him joy? Or it just so happens that his three main passions (design, samurai theatre and gaming) don’t necessarily require a large amount of items at home or completely mesh with his love of minimalism. For example, if he was an avid golfer, he would probably be conflicted given a full golf set has tons of items (14 clubs, a bag, balls, tees, etc). I’m interested in where he keeps his tools and equipment (rented workshop space maybe?) especially if he is designing and making his own clothes and items.
@@bzomeful yes, somehow it seems a “fad” because it’s self indulgent and one has to make a special effort to be minimal which itself defeats the purpose

I'm impressed tbh. at first I thought its gonna be like a boring life but when he showed his camera gear, Nintendo switch, his hobbies, his products, that I'm convinced he is really enjoying his life with minimal items. Also he considers the idea of having a family with that kind of lifestyle and he is also aware and fine if he ends up growing old alone.
And just by having minimal amount of items, he isn't spending unnecessary money on fast consumerism (even his clothes were designed by himself!), which means that he can use it for items he really wants and he can either splurge or save for later use
as a maximalist, i love this guy. Bro s happy w what he's got, and doesnt deprive himself for the sake of an aesthetic or anythin. he's just vibin. and his shirt with many pockets is genius, i wish i had one lol
It's almost ironic that a maximalist would be interested in a shirt with numerous pockets designed by a minimalist to avoid the use of bags, but really, it makes perfect sense. I imagine you'd fill each pocket with little treasures for discovering later.
What's not to like? He's clean, neat, organized, clearly knows what he wants in life, interesting, funny, passionate & consistent with his hobbies, creative, tech savvy, geeky, which I like... ya, I can see many ppl liking him as a bf/husband. Just the minimalist part is a bit difficult. But hey, rooms n items can be divided n she can have her section & he'll only have to mind his part. It could work if both compromise a bit. Also, sincerely hope he sells his shirt & shopping bag. They are kinda cool.
As a woman I find him attractive. I think he’s creative, independent and has very clear ideas. Having an empty home forces us to look at ourselves, whether we like it or not. I find it fascinating and I don’t think he’s lonely at all. His shirt is the best creation ever 😳
@DaysAreForgottenBaby ya, I agree. But unlike him, I do enjoy collecting "useless" trinkets, so I just respect his lifestyle, knowing I can't/ won't do it. But those that can, might find him to be an ideal partner.
I suppose the difference in value attached to items/"stuff" can be hard. Love and compromise can go a long way, but it's such a different outlook on life... Starting a family would be very complex. How many rompers would he buy for a baby?

While I definitely don't think I could live that kind of lifestyle, it was really cool seeing what items and gadgets he keeps in his daily life! Also, that jacket he made is so cool!
I don't think I could live like that but when I look around just my room... there really is a LOT of stuff that is just sitting there and hasn't been touched for a long LONG time. And that folding magnetic shopping bag is a very cool idea.
I also used to wear black, but after a long time the lack of color seemed depressing to me. The consistency of this minimalist is truly impressive. I think his clothes with many pockets are fantastic, very practical.
I've started transitioning to a medium grey + accent color. It blends even better than black (esp. with different shades of itself) and looks a little less gloomy.
I also want a minimalist wardrobe, but with color. I'm thinking I'll make myself some black paper bag waist pants and then for other things incorporate only my favorite colors.
A good alternative are earth tones. They also perfectly fit together and are a bit warmer than pure black. And if you want even more color, you can add pastel colors like green for example.
Give him a basket of things and he would go mad for a week how to dispose them... I bet he not only does not use his bath, but even the toilet, it is better in the gym! :)))))))))
I got a well-needed laugh that he got stopped at the airport for lack of luggage while wearing this. Makes a person rethink the concept of big luggage suitcases.
@@tarraingart Yeah I also wonder if the person in this video has had that kind of experience lol. But maybe by being minimalistic, he has become extremely mindful of what stuff he does or doesn't have; or what stuff is placed in this or that place.
His folding bag invention is so cool and useful, folding into a thin enough square that it can fit into your pocket, AND magnetized. I really love it, it's so smart!

Putting aside he's a minimalist, he has a recognisable system to me. When I lived on my own, I can tell you, I learned so much, because you don't have time. I was studying and working. I had little time to organize and clean my home, not to mention do the groceries, laundry, shopping. Like him, I put my life in boxes. Everything is organized in boxes and baskets. I'm married now, I have decorations in our home for example, but they also have their boxes I just chuck them in when I need. This guy rotates clothes. We do that too. We have our going out clothes and the everyday clothes that we rotate (gym clothes included). We also go around thinking of ways to make our lives more effective/organized and how to get rid of things, but we are not minimalists. (The way he held his phone. My guy is young!)
He is so stinking cute! You can really tell he finds a lot of pride in keeping his space organized and small. I hope he can find someone who shares his passion but kids need stuff so that may be a issue. His bag coat is brilliant too.
This is so amazing, and he has everything he needs. I have never seen someone live this way before. He will meet the right partner for him when it is time, and it will be someone who likes to live the same way. It's even smaller than Tiny House living. Kind blessings always and thank you for sharing. Totally brilliant.
Moving in to a new place is usually one of THE most stressfull things a person can go through in life This fellow makes it look so easy. It seems minimalismd does have some good points. 😃
Read “more than you need.” Obviously “need” is subjective, but most have more than they need, which tends to require more space than is needed, which tends to cost more than they have, which tends to curtail freedom.
What a blessing. I'm not the only one. I've been traveling the world since 2006. I have been living in a new country for 3.5-5 years in different regions and cities. At the beginning, I had the usual amount of things and when I moved, I sent things by delivery. But still, every move I rethought the need for each thing, evaluating whether the thing was worth moving on with me. Then it was important for me to fit into 1 large suitcase. Now I am already an experienced minimalist. I travel with a suitcase for carry-on luggage, a musical instrument, a tea set and a supply of pu-erh (this is not always easy to find in a new country), equipment for filming, I create content and my hobby - I make sacred jewelry for prayer. All this: a suitcase for hand luggage, a bag for a musical instrument and a backpack. At the same time, the quality of my life and the feeling of comfort are always available to me.

I think my desk corner alone has more stuff than he has in his apartment. That's mad impressive that he even made his own things to assist in keeping the item count down while still remaining convenient
lol yea mine too~
Right!!?? My 5 year olds table has more crap on it than that man has in his entire house 😅 Crazy
Actually he has like 100 smaller items under the wig he is wearing!!!
I’m OBSESSED with him. LOVE his philosophy, home, projector and clothing!!!
It sounds like his sense of minimalism allows him to really focus on the things that give him joy. And I'm sure it's an enjoyable hobby in itself.
Is wearing a wig considered a hobby???
@@bzomeful yes, somehow it seems a “fad” because it’s self indulgent and one has to make a special effort to be minimal which itself defeats the purpose
Yeah, manga films whole day...
He may be a minimalist but it's clear he's got everything planned out to exactly what he wants and needs. It's actually kind of refreshing. I don't know if I could live the minimalist lifestyle but I could certainly cut back on a lot of things that I own

I LOVED this video! What a beautiful and authentic way of expressing himself through and in his home. He seems quite content (and funny!) and I admire his dedication to a quiet, still, and self-assured life 💜.
True minimalist
Such a lovely, humble and talented guy
And just by having minimal amount of items, he isn't spending unnecessary money on fast consumerism (even his clothes were designed by himself!), which means that he can use it for items he really wants and he can either splurge or save for later use
Think about it, he must have loads of money until he is paying very much for rent or spends it all on video games
he's not having a family. he's too attached to his own way of life to change it for anyone.
His life seems so relaxing and calm. I like the way he speaks, he seems very content and comfortable.
What's impressive here is that he designs his own stuff to best suit his minimalist lifestyle.
as a maximalist, i love this guy. Bro s happy w what he's got, and doesnt deprive himself for the sake of an aesthetic or anythin. he's just vibin. and his shirt with many pockets is genius, i wish i had one lol
you can buy it I think
It's almost ironic that a maximalist would be interested in a shirt with numerous pockets designed by a minimalist to avoid the use of bags, but really, it makes perfect sense. I imagine you'd fill each pocket with little treasures for discovering later.
The only thing I’d add? A plant!
I respect Shibu’s thoughtfulness about his use of space.
Sibu, sorry for the misspelling! 😅
I think it's pronounced Shi-bu, like Shibuya in Tokyo, but the letter "h" is too much. Minimize it to 4 letters.
That or marry a minimalist wife and we can share things!!!
my favourite part was the shirt!!
Many think of minimalism as depriving, but what he has is a lifestyle that embodies his personality which is a win.
I see it as a very healthy form of modern living it’s very inspiring for when I have my own place

I absolutely love this. He seems so shy yet so full of life. I lost it when he took out the cart and started skateboarding on it. Hes actually so funny and good for him for knowing what he wants!
As a contractor I get the appeal. That feeling knowing your whole life is in one bag, makes life alot easier.
Until you leave the bag on the train!

@@evgeniizaets9243 it definitely makes life a lot easier, less anxiety when seeing how much bullshit you own, makes moving easier, makes you less of a mindless consumer, save money by not buying things you dont need, save a lot of space, you will be happier too because you don’t yearn for more things to buy that you think will make you happy etc. So many ways minimalism can make your life less stressful and a whole lot easier

Amazing. Im a hoarder and compulsive shopper and i admire this man minimalism
Naaah you’re good. Hoarders does not admit it that easily. It would be interesting to count how many items I have. I guess 2k items easy
Although he calls himself minimalist it is interesting to see him having unusual items that he’s really into such as many kinds of spices, projector (and I think he has defuser too?) The way he lives must give him lots of inspiration! Thank you for the interesting video😆
it was really interesting to see exactly WHAT items he has attached to~
It's why I did the whole second vid just interviewing him and linked it
His whole mindset was so different from me!!
His inventions are so interesting! He really views the world in a whole new way!
It looks like the projector is his ceiling light, too. So two functions in one device. Clever.
The closet reveal was a nice surprise. I was waiting for the closet filled with 250 things. This man is impressive.
I aspire to this man's level of organization and resourcefulness
His way of living is truly inspiring. I will never be a minimalist myself, but I love how practical and organized it is to be as such.
While I definitely don't think I could live that kind of lifestyle, it was really cool seeing what items and gadgets he keeps in his daily life! Also, that jacket he made is so cool!
incredible right?!
Awww...what he said at the end about finding a partner. He seems like such a sweet guy - just need to find him the right extreme minimalist.
I don't think I could live like that but when I look around just my room... there really is a LOT of stuff that is just sitting there and hasn't been touched for a long LONG time.
And that folding magnetic shopping bag is a very cool idea.
What an interesting and innovative man. 13 minutes to pack up house...that is impressive.
Same...I transition to navy blue and deep purple after wearing black for a long time.
lmao what is this
A good alternative are earth tones. They also perfectly fit together and are a bit warmer than pure black. And if you want even more color, you can add pastel colors like green for example.
I really love this idea that you can move the day you want, anytime you want, when you own so little items. That's a great plus !
The guy is calm af, he doesn't have any clutter, less stress!
Give him a basket of things and he would go mad for a week how to dispose them... I bet he not only does not use his bath, but even the toilet, it is better in the gym! :)))))))))
That shirt is awesome. Love the hidden storage for necessary stuff on the go
A wonderful piece of clothing indeed :-)
I got a well-needed laugh that he got stopped at the airport for lack of luggage while wearing this. Makes a person rethink the concept of big luggage suitcases.
my problem would be i’d forget something in one of the back hidden pockets and wash it with like a cable or something in
@@tarraingart Yeah I also wonder if the person in this video has had that kind of experience lol. But maybe by being minimalistic, he has become extremely mindful of what stuff he does or doesn't have; or what stuff is placed in this or that place.

@@thecamillarose9806 I'm afraid it wouldn't be the same, but if it makes him happy, who knows...
Acquiring more than you need prohibits movement and freedom.
You can go too far too. Some people are willingly homeless bc of ‘freedom’ where you going bruh? 🤣🤣
Read “more than you need.” Obviously “need” is subjective, but most have more than they need, which tends to require more space than is needed, which tends to cost more than they have, which tends to curtail freedom.
If moving is the most stressful part of someone's life, they are unspeakably lucky.
