just curious how is that possible? what kind of music were you into in your youth? im ten years younger than you so i was more into grunge music than punk during school, but melvins was one of favorites.
Yeah, okay...but it wont happen. They gone through some of the best that rock could ever offer up. I thought I heard they were actually touring with two now...Macdonald and Pinkus.
If you saute the onions, deglaze with white wine, add the milk (or cream), allow to reduce, add some spices and maybe some cheese you can actually make a delicious sauce.
Thats not logical... Keeping time (rhythmic consistency) is the main element of all music... Danny Carey is one of the greatest, most melodic drummers out there, and he has damn near perfect time.
Steves behs face is one of the best! Love it when he kicks on some fuzz! You rock Steve your joy in playing is very contagious!! Love the Melvins all around. Always smile when i put thwm on
ADT2695 he means it wasn’t some 15note per second highly technical run through of a scale for 5 minutes ,which Steve is of course capable of as a professional musician, but with the timing and notes he used he gave it a slightly “dirty” or ”sludgy” feel to it
I came to them late too - tbh they don't want the recognition, they just love playing and making music. Try and see them live, but take ear protection; loudest band I've seen!! \m/
Love love love these guys buy really seriously want to get props the bass player I feel like he totally takes the song to another level I love it I love everything about all this
Man i fucking love these guys they never cease to write the most badass, speaker blowing, slow and churning god damn makes you feel like you could bite a piece of 2 inch rebar in half and break down a wall with your own head heavy as hell music i discovered them when i was 14 iam now 37 ive liked everything even the acoustic album and the melvins with jello biafra they helped me find my own musical style on the guitar its ok to write how i feel and get my point across much respect to the melvins.
I'm not a musician, and couldn't play an instrument because I'm un-teachable. So, musicians if I'm wrong I apologize. But, all of the Melvins' songs I've listened to, seem so complex in a good way! I'm just sad that I didn't learn about this band until this year. And King Buzzo's hair kicks ass!
These guys never made it to my ipod in high school or my CD collection and for this I am the one who missed out.. well that ended a couple years ago these guys are awesome
That was eppic cant believe haven't heard this before i listen to alot of there older stuff . Love it when the right ratios of talent and weird mix together to create brilliance. I wish there was a word to describe it
I dream in wings of yesterday Divide it seem to float on a line Don't mean to be so in deep My baby walks it twist and turn Black lady lady sleep or ride? She lay and paint up every night The walls are always here me And never hardly hear me I hold the forward drone It makes me right The wheels are always near And twist and turn like baby
Saw the band live with Pinkus, & it was beyond awesome. Saw the band with Steve McDonald & it was so-so. The performance in the video rocked, so I guess it just comes down to what material they're playing. Thanks for letting me work that out in my head.
Agreed, 100%. I really dig his playing (particularly his tone), but he also brings some animated showmanship (old school rock n' roller with class clown mischief), which I think makes for a welcome counterbalance to Buzz's more brooding presence. (Buzz is actually a pretty funny guy in interviews, a quality that seems lost when he's deep in the music groove.) I love these rainy Pacific northwest guys, but a throwing in a bit of so-Cal surfer dude makes the whole package more compelling.
I give mad props to Buzz for keeping that cut all these years, sickass guy.
Oh yeah, good old Buzz. Buzz the drummer :-)
an area requiring no thoughts which is inexpensive as a non-calorie burner
It also serves to hide that potato-sized mole growing out of the top of his head
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
He went full Danzig at the start there
53yrs just started checking out this band.... WTF THEY ARE F
AWESOME!!!!!
I'm 51, only discovered these guys a few months ago
just curious how is that possible? what kind of music were you into in your youth? im ten years younger than you so i was more into grunge music than punk during school, but melvins was one of favorites.
Ha ha 😂 yeah bro. Epic
Such a good Melvins!!! It's like 3 kids that all learned how to ride wheelies on their bmx's and spend the day riding together in a tiny parking lot.
You put a “huh!” smile on my face with that comment. Well f’ing said my friend. They’re definitely drinking from the hose after this sesh.
Here is a band which is credited for the development of both Grunge and Sludge Metal. In case you don't know them, they are the great Melvins!
I love Steven McDonald! He's an incredible bassist and he has such great emotion and energy! I hope he stays in The Melvins forever!
I agree with you. He is animated live fun to watch and rocks out.
I just wanted to write the same!
Yeah, okay...but it wont happen. They gone through some of the best that rock could ever offer up. I thought I heard they were actually touring with two now...Macdonald and Pinkus.
angus2016young saw them the other day with both pinkus and Steve

@Dixie Normous mmmmmmmmmmmm
I love this response 😂
What spices should I add? I think I'm actually gonna make this sauce 😂. It sounds good!
You gomna deglaze that fuckin pan?

I became a Melvins fan this year... how the F did i miss these guys! They are one of the best i've heard.
Check out "A history of bad men" and "The bit". Those are some heavy ones by them. Melvins forever🤟🔥🤟
Some drummers keep time and others play the drums like they are a musical instrument.
Dale's the most underrated drummer in rock
bongeggs most definitely so. He’s a monster drummer and precise at the same time.

Man I love to see bass played like that: heavy and emotional, and going it's own way. Great recording, great performance.
Steve's anti-solo is so ridiculous it's genius
What was “anti” about that?
ADT2695 he means it wasn’t some 15note per second highly technical run through of a scale for 5 minutes ,which Steve is of course capable of as a professional musician, but with the timing and notes he used he gave it a slightly “dirty” or ”sludgy” feel to it

ear protection is must, great live band
2:13 buzz helping dale out with his cymbal is the highlight for me
I've been watching this session for the past 4 years and the intro never gets old.
This is the best recorded version of this song.
Prove me wrong.
No doubt
I never get tired of this.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who caught that...

Steve's character really compliments the band well. I think they needed a full goof. His posing is awesome!
Holy fuck this bass performance is godly. The Whole band is exceptional but Steve particularly crushes it
My favorite band!
most important bass solo of 2017!!!!!!!!
It took them decades to go from a garage band to a van band......

These guys take some intricate s**t and make it look like they're just screwing around. Frickin awesome!
Steve McDonald is either a god or just a really rad dude
Coda Girvan the GOD is dale crover
It turns out Mitch Hedberg faked his own death to join the witness protection program as "Steve McDonald".
He seems to be sticking around longer than the average Melvins bass player so good for him.

They are so wholesome. Bring them home to meet mom and dad. Stay for dinner. Then go upstairs and trash your room.
