This was my first ever Canes game my freshman year. Will never forget this one. With the exception of the 2007 Super Bowl, this was the best game I've ever attended.

Hard Rock is great, but my dad and I have so many great memories in the OB. This one was probably the greatest. We cried like babies when Gore broke the plane lmao RIP OB
I had seen the Hurricanes play many times since 1991 but never at the OB. What a glorious night that was. Even met Brock & Greg Olsen the next morning at AllCanes. Oh & Chris Rix is my favorite Hurricane QB of all time. Thx Chris for everything u did for Miami football.

My daughter was born during this game. The wife was in labor. We went to the hospital in the 1st quarter. Got there and they told us they were doing an emergency C-section. She was born healthy and they got my wife to a room. I went to the car for our bags and this game was still on in the ER waiting room.
There for this one! all the way on the top row between the uprights. Seeing Frank Gore running into the end zone, disappearing behind the lower part of the crowd was one of my greatest memories at the Orange Bowl. My dad and I were in tears because it was such an amazing finish! RIP OB
Also, I was at this game. Me and my dad were all the way at the top right above the O in Orange. So many tears of joy when he broke that plain. I hope when I have a son one day we can share the some kind of moments at Sun Life :)

Feels like Miami has never been the same since they got rid of the Orange Bowl. They should have rebuilt a new stadium instead of That Marlins stadium which is always 3/4 empty. That stadium was the heart and soul of Miami football.
Hester legit saved the game with that block! Our offense was atrocious up until the last 2 min, so I know we would’ve lost if they would’ve went up 13-3 with 4 min left in the game. Hester deserves just as much credit as Rix does for this win 😀🤣.

@ileorin They were good against conventional offenses. Jimbo Fisher's offenses averaged 30 points a game against him. Unorthodox offenses.. Shannon had major issue scheming against them.
The way teams play in the SEC copied Miami's and Florida State's style of fast and athletic defensive lineman and linebackers along with overall team speed. Miami had this style of recruiting players with superior athleticism back in the '80s then FSU copied Miami. Its evident today in the SEC and thats why Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, etc. are so good. They copied The U!!!! Real Talk!
NCAA can't afford revenue drop from the death penalty. The SMU Mustangs hurt them bad and I'm sure they haven't done the DP since then. I'm sure hoping they don't though, I wouldn't watch football until the penalty is passed :/
@DApostalz777 Chris Rix was better than Lee and Weatherford combined. He was the best FSU had at the time. Did you not see the Sugar Bowl debacle with Fabian Walker in? He may have turned the ball over too much, but at least he moved the ball. I can't remember which season, I think it was 06 or 07, but our offense used screen passes instead of run plays because we were that bad offensively. Rix was long gone by then.
