Pitt actually won the Big East in 2004...The game in the video was a de-facto Big East Championship game for 2003..Pitt fell flat in a big game at home..Pitt also fell flat and lost to a much better Clemson team in the 2018 ACC Championship game..📚🏈🏙💺
I remember exactly where I was watching this game. I was in my Grandmothers house watching on her old tv lol. Damn that was 20 years ago. Hopefully we will have a good season this year. Go Canes!
That was the biggest difference when it came to Butch Davis and Larry Coker. Butch Davis was like a general and knew how to get to his players. Coker was more Dennis Erickson in a way where the players ran the team more than the coach was suppose to.
After the mess in 2017 which i was at when the CANES was #2 and lost to Pitt I love even watching old footage of the HURRICANES pounding Pitt,GO CANES🙌
I was at this game. I remember being cold and the student section taunting Winslow by chanting "Soldier." He flipped the bird to the crowd every time he came in or out of the tunnel. A lot of people got ejected for throwing garbage at him.
It was the discipline that was disappearing, especially on offense. The penalties against us turned from aggressive to stupid, and it cost the offense dearly. Berlin wasn't the best QB, but this was when Coker's recruits started to underachieve. The D was still stacked.
Never was a 'Canes fan, but I loved watching these Big East battles. Brock Berlin was never the QB Dorsey was. Berlin certainly had more potential than Dorsey did, but Dorsey was always a beacon of consistency. He rarely made the mistakes that Berlin did.
@skankuser the ACC is turning into a Big East reunion with Pitt and Syracuse on their way now you have five former Big East Schools in the ACC. As a Pitt fan I am thrilled to renew rivalries with Miami and VT and BC
Notice also how Chud used to stick with the running game when it was working. Great shot in this that I remember when all our receivers were sitting freezing on the sideline because they weren't needed. Taking notes Whipple?
Pitt's QB really sucked - no arm. Receivers were open on several of the INTs he threw, but he didn't have the arm to get the ball to them. You can have all the great Receivers in the world (like LF), but it does no good if your QB can't get the ball to them. Pass protection for Pitt was also week, but the QB often held the ball for too long. Your pass protection is designed only to last for 2 to 3 seconds.
@ileorin doesn't really matter now that the Big East is pretty much disbanding. Also, we have made a decent amount of money through joining the ACC. Perhaps Miami, BC, and VT knew something when they jumped.
I know this is a Miami highlights video, but where's Rod Rutherford now? Last i heard he was like 3rd string with the Carolina Panthers, but this was years ago.
@@shawnevans26 I mean he really wasn't covering any one person specifically because he was playing deep safety most of the game but he certainly deserves a lot of credit as well for shutting him down he played incredible this game
Not even close. Just because a team or two competes for the NC doesn't make it a legit conference. What about Boise St? Is the Mountain West a legit conference. How about the WAC(Western Athletic Conference)......didn't they have a team or 2 highly ranked a couple of years ago? Big East was never a "good" football conference.
And yes RIP #26 a legend

R.I.P Tyrone Moss #TM30
Miami would’ve won another National Title if they had any offense whatsoever. Their D was legit!!!
R.I.P. to #26 S-Dot! Sean Taylor the head hunter!
Best saftey I’ve ever seen
Back when the Big East actually was a legit football conference. Having Pitt, Miami, VT, Syracuse, and BC in the ACC is like a Big East Reunion

who's watching in 2021?
Boyyyy I miss that REAL Miami D!

Why can this 2022 canes play like this olds school real canes play..damn whats going on.
Jason Geathers was underrated

I remember this game! Great game even though my boys lost! Canes are always a hell of a team, reminds me of my Steelers, PHYSICAL!
Larry Fitzgerald got shut down that day

Looking at S.T still.cant believe he's gone he could've been and should've been the G.O.A.T

They actually were. Miami & Virginia Tech competed for BCS Titles as members of the Big East and haven't been to the mountaintop ever since.
it seems really weird that Miami used to be in the Big East. It just seems wrong to me.
Thanks canefreak!
Damn! Our running backs were so damn slow.
Notice also how Chud used to stick with the running game when it was working. Great shot in this that I remember when all our receivers were sitting freezing on the sideline because they weren't needed. Taking notes Whipple?
That's weak. Completely skipped both of Pitts TD drives.
@Canefreak2001 thanks for the upload bro.
How bout them Canes..
RIH SEAN TAYLOR
Did gathers get injured in 03? He should have gotten a lot more touches through out the season
they started moss to late in the season should haved played for the nc that year
Depth
god that defense was nasty...
I don't like blowouts rest easy Sean Taylor

What??? the whole Miami secondary went pro

GO CANES
HELL YEAH
Damn you couldn't show the Larry Fitzgerald highlights of this game?
No, he couldn't because there weren't any haha. My man Antrel Rolle locked him up good
James Walton he kept his Touchdown streak though
James Walton I thought it was Sean Taylor who was on him? I could be wrong?

James Walton oh ok...that makes since.
The Big East was never a "legit" conference....thats funny.
Clearly you are to young
