I played this game with my Dad before he left for Afghanistan. I miss those days. When he left my grandparents raised me and he was blown up by an IED. He survived but it changed him, as it would anyone. I hurt so much thinking of what could of have been but I am beyond grateful he’s here today.

Without this game, I'm not sure if I ever would've developed a healthy relationship with my stepdad. We would play this game together for hours, then move on to the next in the series. It was fun.
The sheer number of hours I put into Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel with my friends is breathtaking. I still go back and replay it sometimes, but it's not the same without trying to figure out bounding movement while eating a slice of pizza while a friend tries to make his character into a look-alike of his favorite superhero. They were good times :) ... :| ... :( I miss being a kid.

My dad, who died roughly 5 years ago at the age of 46 from cancer, used to heavily play this game back when I was younger, me and him would always play different games together but something about this game stands out in my mind when I think about us 2 playing together… I’m not 100% sure why but everytime I hear or think about this game, it brings a smile to my face as it reminds me of the old days… fly high pops and hopefully one day I can enjoy this game once again.
This was the golden days of gaming. My little brother and I played the hell out of this game old school couch co-op. Being the oldest I had the Xbox licensed controller and he had the rockcandy controller.

Army of Two. What a great series, something that truly offered the perfect balance of co-op and single play without issues. 40th Day is still the best....just the perfect game with all the right action, entertainment, and humor.
My friend and I did a co-op playthrough last month by running AoT on the RPCS3 emulator, and then using Parsec to send his controller inputs to my PC. We had to use split screen, but if you played it with your brother as a kid like I did, that just adds to the nostalgia. We find that it aged like wine.
Although you can play any of two by yourself, it wasn’t made for that, it was made to be played with a friend, its mechanics are created specifically for coop, play it again but do it right this time
I used to play all three games with my dad growing up. He’d always play as Rios and I would play as Salem. Then in TDC he was Alpha and I was Bravo. Good times.

This year was massive in my life. Was going through a lot of depression. Meds and shit. But I was so into gaming. Reading up all the news every day, trying to save up for games, went to stores to always see what was new, etc. I loved it. The videos online too. Forums. Everything. And playing WaW online, getting MGS4 and sitting through the funny yet long installing. Long as GTA IV on PS3? Jist lots of memories. Trophies came out on PS3 that summer I think. Midnight Club L.A.
This game was so unique and innovative. I remember playing with my Dad all the time, no other games play quite like the AoT games. I loved that there was always something for you to do. Like when helping your partner climb a ledge he isn’t locked into a climbing animation, he can shoot anyone that would be waiting up there. When you’re knocked down you can still fight back. You can feign death at low health to trick enemies and save you and your buddy. It just felt like the devs really wanted you to have a good player experience and prioritized options and fun over anything else. More than anything, it incentivized co-op and playing and having fun together in a way that no other games do. There’s so much interaction between you and your partner that it’s easily one of the best co-op games out there. I’m still mad they never made the 40th day backwards compatible. The first game is really good, but the second one is such a great game it’s a real shame that it was never made backwards compatible.
You have no idea how much I miss this game/ series. it's devastating what's happened with the servers and availability, honestly one of the most memorable experiences I've had in a game, nothing else like this series, and sadly it seems like there won't be another series like it for a very long time.

The gun customisation, the story choices, the team tactics... so good. Building a Frankenstein gun with a soda can suppressor that uses parts from six other guns was just too much fun.

What mad this game even better was the fact that in some cases you can deal with stuff befor hand such as the mission you parachute into the side of a mountain base as a heli takes off. If you can kill the heli you have killed a high priority target giving you bonus funds AND not having to hunt him down in later missions
I loved this series growing up. Devil's Cartel was actually my first pre-order. Now that I'm studying game development, one of my bucket list goals is to make a sequel worthy of the name.

I remember way back my brother used to play this game and I would always watch as younger brothers did, and at the chopper scene my brother looked at me and said imagine if after all that work the helicopter blew up, as soon as he said that there was an explosion, up until now I forgot the game and all the context but the memory of the most 2008 game of all time always felt like an obscure dream

I was so mad this never came to PC.
What mad this game even better was the fact that in some cases you can deal with stuff befor hand such as the mission you parachute into the side of a mountain base as a heli takes off. If you can kill the heli you have killed a high priority target giving you bonus funds AND not having to hunt him down in later missions

I loved this series growing up. Devil's Cartel was actually my first pre-order. Now that I'm studying game development, one of my bucket list goals is to make a sequel worthy of the name.
