Couple of things I missed: I didn't say this while recording but the voicemail threats were VOIP calls, directed towards his personal voicemail which was leaked due to the various doxxing campaigns that came from this whole situation. And in regards to the Asmond stuff at 17:30 - Thor had interviewed him a week before the "drama", however he had uploaded that interview unfortunately the same day as when the OnlyFangs situation began to really kick off. They weren't directly related to each other. Just wanted to make sure those two things were clarified
This is final level unemployment HOLYYYY. I was thinking he actually did something bad but he just died in a videogame? People legit need to go outside bruh
People are wildly overreacting, but it's a little bit more nuanced than what you're saying. He didn't die in a video game. He was in a five-man group of people on a hardcore permanent death server. Those people have put in dozens of hours to get to that point including himself. Something went wrong in the dungeon they were doing. Ignoring whether that was his fault or not, the issue is that he could have done substantially more to prevent the others from dying. The backlash came from basically leaving everyone to die and then refusing to admit that he could have done more. Again, people are wildly overreacting in my opinion, but that is what happened.
That's basically the reaction my roommate had when he heard about it. He's just now convinced a good bit of hardcore classic players are just mentally ill.
The most impressive thing about this entire ordeal, is that you stretched it out into a 26 minute video, holy moses bro. The saddest part of this is that your camera is physically attached to your monitor/desk so it shakes every time you touch anything on your desk.

So let me reiterate as someone who never played WoW: - Group is on route to a boss and had multiple close calls on the way - Group begins fighting the boss, mistakes happen and shit hits the fan - Groupleader calls for a retreat and all are follwing his command - Group is nearly in the clear when the Groupleader suddenly decides that they should go on the offensive - Groupmembers are out of poistion, low on ressources and the enemies are coming - even more mistakes happen and people die - afterwards group gets angry at one of their members for supposedly not doing enough to prevent the deaths - all because seemingly they expected that this special guy rescues the situation and save their asses, like he is allways doing If I got that right the I would say: If you rely on someone carrying your team and you get angry when he fails, maybe it is a skill issue, but not one of the guy you are angry at! Just saying, but what do I know... ;o)
Yeah, this situation seems a bit too dumb at the end of the day. Like, no matter how good you are at your role, mistakes can happen, you can have a bad day. And you're not always going to be honest about your mistakes or that you had an off day at the role. It's just not in our nature to immediately be honest and admit our mistakes. Sure in hindsight, you could make the argue that Pirate Software was at fault for not handling the support situation better. But like, come on, we're humans, mistakes happen, shit happens, live and learn. Pirate Software from the clips at least stayed more civil & calm than the others, while they were raising their voices beyond reason. Sure the rage quit can at first glance seem a little childish, but I also think that the choice was within reason when you're at the point where the others are talking over you, and unwilling to listen. It just becomes a lost cause.
The part I don't understand is the excessive hate for the guy. Don't get me wrong, I think the guy is a narcissist and really don't like his character, but the fact that people start trying to actually ruin him is insane. Could he have played that better? Definitely. Would that have saved the group? Hard to know. Is he at fault for those two players dying? I honestly don't think so. They made beginner mistakes and are just trying to blame someone who didn't. I used to play WoW. In situations like these, you listen to your "shot-caller". You don't have to be designated a shot caller to be one. So if someone calls a shot, you follow it under the thought that everyone else will as well. If someone else calls a different shot, sometimes not everyone will follow it which will create chaos.
I think it more has to do with the group leader in question being an insufferable person. deaths happen in a harcore game mode and people will get upset, but the guy that made the bad calls had to blow everything out of proportion. Idk how prate allowed himself to party with that guy in the first place. I'd avoid him at all costs personally. (He's actually being put to death by only fangs now because he stole some loot or somehting.)
Tyler has probably reviewed what happened and realized that pirate may have done a bad play, but that stemmed from bad planning, positioning and calls together that lead to the raid groups downfall. Atleast 3 could've escaped had they not try to salvage a lost battle.
Remembering his early days vs seeing him being the most mature and calm person in the room. Truly a great man. If people should listen to anyone in situations like these, it's him.
I'm semi-convinced all these streamers just take turns doing dumb shit so that everyone can generate "content" about it for a couple weeks. None of it feels remotely genuine.
Doxxing and sending death threats to a guy over a situation in a game you weren’t involved in is the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen. The whole situation is something that would happen with your friends online once and you’d be upset for a day, then you get over it.
Yeah but would you not stop being friends with that guy if it was repeated behavior? which this dude has shown multiple times. You can't platform yourself as an 'anti-bully' and then have an ENDLESS trove of clips of you targeting, harassing and bullying new players. A frequent saying of his, "THERE'S NO PLACE FOR THAT SHIT." and then you have him doing exactly that. He just isn't a nice guy and it's catching up to him unfortunately. I probably don't know much about wow to fully understand whether pirate was right to do what he did but honestly, it does feel this way. If the rogue turned back and fought after saying to retreat, isn't it really the rogue's fault for making a stupid call though I guess shouldn't pirate have said something like "I'm out of mana or something?
@@KuroMochiKimchi I have played quite a bunch of this game. And the mistake was already made by them going in the fight with the Boss in sight rather then waiting for it. Second they went in the fight with Pirate being at half mana rather then waiting for him to regen after each pull which normally happens in dungeons to wait for the entire group to heal mana. I play main tank and I wait for the entire partie to have their resources back to full. Then because of bad play from the druid jumping around like an idiot during a hard dungeon when running out pulled another pack. This happend right when the rogue who was paying absolutely no attention for everybody to turn around saying it is salvagabel. WHICH IT WASNT. Pirate was also incredibly low in Hitpoints not just mana! Which is probably why he acted so much more cautiously, cuss in hardcore that shit is scary. Last the group was clowning around for the entire run not listening to pirates advice and feetback, as he was fully against skipping mobgroups which is the one that got 2 of the partymembers killed. And that paired with that the party already fucked up once before situation. The thing that he could have done, It the moment it went south, as the more experienced player. Take up leadership and explained to people what to do. Vocalize urgency more. That would have probably saved them. But Pirate wasnt party leader so there is no reason for him to do so. But it is something I tend to do. I am very silent player and dont need to be the leader. The guy is a meme. It's not even about who's at fault, it's about his reaction afterwards. He runs away from any sign of struggle, and that includes interacting with others. Taking zero accountability, preaching to them it's their fault and leaving the call - allowing them no chance to respond. When confronted by the people organizing the whole event that he is a part of (Tyler1 current leader of Onlyfangs), he abandoned the call AGAIN after talking and not allowing anyone to respond. He blocks and bans anyone that has anything to say about it, unless you ask for permission (and it better be positive or you're banned). He's living in a bubble and is using the fact he received death threats as a crutch to try to once again, take zero responsibility. He is immune to being at fault for anything, and it's not just WoW. It's other games he plays and streams like Ashes of Creation, or Outer wilds.
It was not the first time he did this. The previous time, two people in the group died because of Him. He of course being the narciss he is, refused to see anything wrong an blamed the whole group for what He alone did.

Context behind the "Cannibalize" comment was actually cut by people on Reddit because they deeply hate PirateSoftware. In a group call, someone was trying to start a fight, flat out saying they're going to be starting a fight "for content" and that got Pirate angry. That was who he was talking to, people on Reddit then clip-chimped and said it was about ANYONE reacting, which it wasn't. People are just being Redditors as usual.
Thor is a super heartfelt person when speaking, which isnt really good for his case when everyone and their mother wanna cut clips out of context to villainize him

@@chedisLoL And they can lose relevance as all others before them, so they make less or zero money. Same way as you could get fired anytime, if the employer wants to cut costs or straight up closes the company.
The reality is that yes, PirateSoftware COULD have saved the situation; however, it would have required a total lock-in and expert-level playing that if he messed up would have resulted in a TPK. The issue is a situation like that is easier to evaluate after-the-fact because in-the-moment you're only going to see, "is it doomed or can I save it". When you are genuinely good at a game and the situation requires a level of skill greater than you are used to using consistently, you're not going to believe you can save it because you're not used to those kinds of specific situations and you don't have the brazen arrogance that comes with incompetence. Add on a variety of other contexts like sleep levels and stress levels and it becomes even harder to gauge the scenario when you are inside of it. And, if you're being pressed on every angle from people with incomplete information who are screaming at you that, "you're at fault and did everything wrong," then you have no reason to pause, review, and evaluate how you could have done things better because people who know nothing of what is happening have already decided you're the only one to blame, so you go into defensive tactics instead. Had people not been so quick to bash, then maybe a different version of this would have played out. But as it stands, the vast majority of people directly and indirectly involved have been nothing but whiny brats screaming for attention and validation they do not deserve. PirateSoftware didn't do nothing wrong, but what he did do wrong was a drop in the bucket compared to the wrong that was done to him. His mistake was grounds for being told, "Hey, we can't have you running before the situation has fully been doomed. If you really feel that need, then we aren't the guild for you, but we know you can do better than that. We all made mistakes, but you running was the final nail in our coffins." To which he should have said, "If I didn't run, it'd be a TPK as I was too low on mana to do anything effective at that time. Maybe I could have provided a little added support, but it would have been more likely that we all just died there instead. I was out of tools in my toolbox for the situation we were in." But at the end of the day, everyone is just being salty over a game. Yes, they make big money from playing this game. But they get that cash regardless of if they are at level cap or grinding up new characters. The people freaking out over this are acting like petulent children.
Wrote all that text to say nothing at all. What could he have done? Only vague statements to make it seem like you are making an argument of substance, but the reality is that you and everyone else hating on Pirate Software is that you're seething because one man refused to apologize for something that wasn't his fault. I'm a random youtube guy, here's my take: It is a guild full of streamers who by merit of being a streamer are a little more self-important than the usual player. When players die in Hardcore, the whole purpose of them all being streamers is to create situations like this that stirs up the content machine. Pirate himself is very self-assured and is quite arrogant, but in the nerd sort of way where he is arrogant because he's smart and knows things. I dont think it's that bad. People keep repeating that clip of him commenting on the other mage because that's what you do; people do that in sports all the time. 'Oh so and so did this .. I would of done this'. Pirate reacted badly, I think, but in a heated situation like that I too would of been like 'why are you blaming me? fuck off'. As a WoW Player, esp in classic/hardcore, that group overpulled by an insane amount. They let their egos get ahead of them and tried to fight 4+ ad pulls plus a boss. Yes, Classic Wow is almost braindead mechanic wise ... but dude you are not taking on that many without a strategy. I dont think he's at fault completely. And him getting death threats over a fucking dungeon run is unacceptable. WoW Players should be embarassed to be a part of this drama.
Oh it's worse. On his stream he was looking at the ramp from the corner before it. He watched them come down, everyone was out of melee range at that point on Yama's screen, then run back up to said 4+ ad pull plus boss. I would have mentally checked out at that point too. Like what were they doing?

@@bendynamic2150 Everyone misses the very very commonly brought up point that run doesn't mean every man for themselves get out, and if it did why from his PoV is he still in an extra minute after he could get out? If run meant what you think it means no one would ever group in ANY class based teamgame as a tank ever, run means as a team not as a roach if it meant roach tank would always die and the other three party members would have got out too. The reason they were escaping slowly and not running is because their cc class roached tf out when run got called and didn't do what he was supposed to. The reason they all didn't make it is because he roached, the reason the tank wasn't the only one to die and actually survived is because the other three people in the guild and raid together that day did not roach when they heard run they ran like they were supposed to, as a team minus one egotistical narcicistic roach. You obviously did not watch his PoV he popped a max rank bliz (that would have actually killed half the threats if he hadn't canceled it) to waste all his mana and didn't keep it channeled to actually hit any of the things that needed to be hit he then blinked farther away and he kept wasting his mana at the entrance while he was mocking them while they were trying to run out. Did you see his PoV from the run right before this where HE pulled in extras, hopped down barrier'ed up and immediately roached and didn't even tell anyone he pulled in extra things to deal with and there was no call to even run that time before he just roached out and that time he didn't even glance back once completely comm silent.
The drama is intentional. It's a way for streamers to boost their view counts and get some juicy spicy content and viral clips. The real problem I see is a group of streamers pretty much threw one of their own under the bus to generate all that massively overblown drama. Sadly, it's not a bug, but a feature of the industry.

@@Arkvoodle1000 Yeah, but I’ve had this happen to me before in games, where someone tells me to run so I get out of there, then they backtrack and say wait when I’ve already disengaged, I come back thinking we can salvage what started out as a bad situation, and we just end up dead because now I can’t get out again, the tools I normally bring to the table aren’t enough to fix things like everyone thought they would, and we take an L. Brother I pretty much never leave the house nowadays and I don't care in the slightest about this aside of putting some comments out that the madboys hate whenever this comes up. This must be people with some massive disorder all in one place, lol
Tyler1 said it best, this got waaaaay out of control. He's kind of an asshole and handled the situation poorly but be serious man, he's getting too much flame for such an insignificant issue that's actually laughable. Imagine Logan paul got as much hate as he's getting for scamming his kid audience
Nah PirateSoftware loves to lick the balls of development companies when they make bad decisions by making excuses for them. I'll take any chance I can get to hate on him. If PirateSoftware has 1 hater, it's me, baby.
1. there's way more to hate about piratesoftware than just this one instance, he has a long history of fucking up and fucking people over. 2. Logan Paul gets a constant barrage of hate for literally everything he does, much of it rightfully deserved. 3. Just because Logan Paul does something bad doesn't mean other people are free from criticism.
I think it's because he had this persona of being such a kind awesome dude, logan paul is an asshole and its to be expected. This is like if mr rogers flipped off a waiter, like in the grand scheme of things its not that big of a deal, but mister rogers doing it makes a lot of people talk.
The thing these streamers miss is that this has been brewing for a long, looong time now. Just recently the time when he attacked the stop killing games movement made me and a bunch of others to dislike him. It's just all coming together nicely as a big bowl of soup.
Still crazy that people are getting upset at him for running when they said run. Bro was across the map when the goober who wanted to be a shot caller started stuttering saying they could save this. Bro had already blinked once, and the boss couldn't be cc'ed. Mobs could've been nova'ed, but he'd have to get close to the boss to do it. And at that point, yeah, I'm not losing my HC character because the tank pulled bad, the druid pulled another group, and the guy who's calling the shots doesn't know anything about the game.
In the interest of putting blame where blame is due. Yes, I agree that the majority of the problem lies with overpulling and bad decisions made by the shot caller. HOWEVER, there seems to have been no communication from Pirate Software when the Shot caller decided to "stand the ground" telling very crucial information like "Im out of mana, far from you, the boss cannot be properly cc'ed and, I would need to be in melee range to try to cc the boss, so I'm not coming back". If he going to go against what the Shot caller is saying, it is his responsibility to concisely and promptly let everyone know. That was his fault. Do I think it was done maliciously? No, of course not, but not communicating and then putting the blame on "you guys did not payed attention on my mana" when they were fighting for the life of their characters is 100% avoiding and shifting his blame.
@@GunarBastos Bro, that sentence takes longer to say coherently than the incident lasted. Also he didn't go against what the shot caller. Shot caller said "run". He ran. Shot caller tried to takesie backsie the call to run at which point Pirate said "Look at my mama tf am I supposed to do now?" because his mana was spent following the shot caller's instructions.
People aren't getting angry that he didn't play optimally. There have been plenty of other situations, where members of the guild lost their characters in dungeons. People are getting angry, because PS doesn't want to acknowledge that he could've saved his teammates, and he doesn't want to apologize that he didn't. There are plenty of videos explaining what he could've done differently.
The most interesting thing about piratesoftware isnt even close to this drama. Its the fact that the dude doesnt support open source servers for games that got nuked by their own company and are just umplayable anymore. Making a video against a lawyer thinking he's smug because he worked at blizzard as a QA
You are wildly misrepresenting his opinion on that issue and it's obnoxious seeing you running around in the wild without any genuine hint of consciousness, you awkward parrot.
@disabledchatzen5276 No Im not, all of his fans always say this but never point out what is misrepresented. I said he was against open source servers for games that cant be played anymore (which is right, thats why he made a video on this topic) and 2. He was smug, which is true, and this doesnt extend to just the open source thing, he's been openly smug about working at blizzard for years
Except it doesnt get explained with out of context and cut clips, missing information, and a wrong focus on what the drama is about. Watch Guppy's video on it instead, its very clear, fair, and explains everything perfectly. It is a little long however, but thats because the situation is much more complicated than Pyro made it out to be.
I have no skin in the game.... But if you call for a retreat... you retreat... you don't start retreating, and then go back in while people have started retreating. The call to go back in was absolutely braindead.
Everything in this situation is braindead. Getting this upset about a game when you're a full grown ahh adulte must be one of the dumbest thing i've seen. People outside of the game getting triggered about this is even dumber. Review bombing the game of piratesoftwar for something like this ? haha, the human race is truly unwell.
@sportyeight7769 oh absolutely it's shit all around... but if you think about it... the average age of a gamer now is between 30-40 years old... adults getting upset over the outcome of a game is very much so not new. I've always thought the WOW community was incredibly toxic since the get-go. Amsongold wasn't a thing back then... but it's hilarious to me, that those friends (aside from being rich and nowhere near as grody) ended up just as... off mentally... as asmon is. The fan base acting the way they are doesn't surprise me... but it's a regular happening now. Stans and simps will always be around... and will always make insane threats (which could be real, today... who tf knows) But hey. If you're gonna be stupid and immature on stream... expect the consumers to be just as stupid and immature (usually more so)
Dude, why speak on something you don't understand, you clearly don't play this game... The problem is he didn't help them retreat when he has alot of responsibility to do so as the class he plays
@ I'm not defending the dude, I said it was stupid situation all around. And you're right. I don't play hc. I don't have the patience for it, nor the drive to be "the best" at wow. Also by "fans" I'm talking about the individual streamers fans. Not the playerbase in general
@@goldenvirginia1284 From the clips, it didn't seem like the players had any intent to run in a dangerous situation where they were guaranteed to die with the first slip. Even if he saved them, it seems like they would just continue trying to "cluch" and die. Sure, he could've tried. And accepted some blame by saying "I could've done more, sorry for that." But acting like he's the only one responsible is just wrong. Everyone as at fault.
pirate did what anyone in hc wo would do in is position. leader called run. everyone ran. he ran fast and ahrd bc they tried to fight again who tf does that? litteraly not his fault but keep thinking your correct. hc wow players are all children, look t them all gang up on one guy. anyone in his position would have died or ran..... simple
@@Cook-px8ne Every sane person kties back not just bails out leaving everybody to die. How do you think it will work if with the slightest issue everybody would just run? The game would be unplayable.
@@Cook-px8ne noone sane would've done what he did, especially not someone who plays wow or any video games to begin with, it's literally what the entire drama is about. People are kinda baffled how someone can behave like this, it's borderline sociopathic if you don't understand why people are mad at him and not the people who messed up even more then you're even more anti social than those streamers
This situation really highlighted for me how disgusting these drama-farming streamers are. Pirate did a shitty thing and might not be a great guy. He's not going to own up to it. That's his prerogative. He was kicked from the guild over it. It should end there. Instead you got people memeing on him and insulting him to the point where people are threatening to kill him. It's insane. People need to take a step back and just be better to one another. Listening to the others talk about is like listening to a group of mean girls in high school.
From what I've gathered about PirateSoftware, in his roots of calling himself 'PirateSoftware' to piss off piracy folks looking for free software - the man is a drama magnet. He shares the same provocative mentality as the shitstirrers who go after him which is very easy to write home about. I'm past caring for postmodern pop culture bickering in-between internet streamers I hardly know, it's overblown for fame and engagement even if the feelings shared by these creators are genuine. I remember watching a 2 hour drama "documentary" several years ago about a creator (feat Keemstar) that opened my eyes to how artificial these controversies are. The iirc jist of it was, Keemstar invited a guy with a tonne of dirt on the controversial creator into a call together and Keemstar asked everyone to bury the hatchet because the drama was over and done with. Pretty much summed up Keemstar as a drama magnet who, isn't really a bad guy, he just chases hysteria because it provides engagement and turns a profit. *I felt like a fool who was duped to benefit every influencer involved.* Anybody giving a rat's arse about this controversy are falling into their engagement trap. Hating on PirateSoftware for his takes just lands you back where you started and makes them money (this is also how trolls make money on Twitter). Take a second of introspection and remind yourself why you hold a stake in the controversy in the first place.
So basically Pirate listens to his teammate that called a run. Tries to assist with Blizzard cast. Pirate is not the one who pulled the extra enemies after the Run call. Team can clearly see Thors resources are low, and you dont have knowledge of the mana item, yet his teammate wants to know where he's going after a Run call that was not made by pirate. Everyone made much worse decisions leading to the overall failure, but because in a tense situation, he didn't use one item that would only *maybe* save them he is blamed for the whole thing. This is a joke, right? It's obvious he could have played better in that moment, but he didn't do anything to warrant this type of reaction.
The funny thing is the person that made the calls and pointing fingers, has 0 wow experience, did absolutely nothing himself and was a rogue. EVERYONE knows you don't listen to rogues.
Don't forget that they pulled another group in all of this. This is clearly the group looking for a scape goat, and since PS ran like a smart persons, and they didn't, they had to blame him. Truly pathetic.
That would be the non-harcore wow player view. In hardcore wow, run does not mean save yourself. It means "we are running out" It has developed into this because when you're not talking with voice with players you can't sit and type out "we need to run out together" Instead you just type "run". Everyone does all they can to make sure everyone gets out together. And if you die on the hill that you listen to the "shotcaller" who said run, why didn't you listen to stay and fight call? Very selective. Casts max rank blizzard 1 tick. which does nothing. Doesn't cast frostnova. Claims to be out of mana when he isn't. All of this is ok, it's ok to suck at the game. If he'd said sorry i panicked and ran out. It would all be fine. Instead he went on a tirade online. DMCA striking others, contacting his friends at blizzard to get people banned. People find clips of him doing bad things in the past and issues dmca stuff against people using those clips. He edits those clips to cause confusion. Most people don't care what he did in the game, he's just bad. It's what followed. This does not warrant doxxing or threats. Neither does threats make it so you can't criticize him. Otherwise you can just use threats as a carte blanch.
Man this whole situation is honestly just pathetic and the fact that so many people on either side are going to bat for people who make their yearly salary or wages in one stream is even more so. There are people actually dying in the world but this gets more attention, let that sink in.
@ - The situation is pathetic, but I think the people defending PS from this smear campaign aren't. The man shouldn't be demanded to apologize for someone else's mistake, he already said he could have done more, their deaths wasn't his fault. Even if he does apologize, it's just going to vindicate the chronically online people making a fuss, bringing more hate, more lies and more threats. Pathetic for them, but for PS this is his reputation and livelihood being threatened over an insignificant mistake.
My whole belief is: Whoever calls the retreat then cancels it is at fault, you called for retreat, everyone’s on the mindset to run, but if you switch to “oh let’s fight back”, there’s no time to get back in the proper head space, Pirate Software just did what he had too, he followed the original command, whoever called retreat then cancelled is at fault.
2:09 the life of a streamer is insane, people do 8hr shifts everyday but pyro wants to take a week off after a hard shift of watching youtube videos and playing games
Tbf pirate takes it to the next level. I've gone to sleep to him being live, just for him to still be live the next day in the afternoon. He does 12 hour live streams like every weekday sometimes longer
A lot more people in the guild hated/didn't like him. I think this was just kind of the final straw for a lot of people. Apparently before pirate was famous this was also a regular occurrence on other game communities, so it's a consistent issue with him
Played WoW as a tank from day 1 to the end of lich king. I watched the original clip. That's what you get for trying to rush a dungeon by skipping packs, and performing terrible pulls. You do not play like that on hardcore. First screw up: Playing like it is normal mode by skipping packs and rushing it. Second screw up: Aggroed multiple packs because they're rushing it and the tank's performing high risk pulls on hardcore... Third screw up: Not following through with the decision to bail. Most of the blame goes to the tank whoever that was. The tank is the leader. They control the pace, call the shots and keep things safe. Conclusion - Bad tank. If the tank was the guy that Thor hung up on then it sounds to me like that person is hella angry at themselves and trying very hard to deflect blame.
Yep absolutely, never bail on a bail. The guy who tried to cancel the bail holds most of the blame for the character deaths. Thor maybe could have helped mitigate the impact of that poor decision, but also maybe not. On the other hand, he definitely could have kept some friends by just letting them throw their tantrum.. That's just life, nobody's perfect.
Pirate software still played like an asshole. As a mage, when the party leader calls to run, the first thing you have to do is to make 100% sure your party members get away BEFORE you, since you as a Mage have really good mobility to get out of the fight AFTER you've helped your teammates out with rank 1 cones, novas, blizzards, or sheeps. What piratesoftware did here is just not care about the rest of the party and use all of his amazing mobility to get out WAY before the rest of his party members. Piratesoftware is playing a Frost mage. Its like if the priest decided to not heal and start attacking the mobs instead. His teammates rely on him as a Mage the same way they rely on their priest as a healer, since they rely on that theyre gonna get healed on every pull.
@@jaimonji5503 Hi there. Sure, but he was not the cause. And, the treatment he is getting, death threats and such is completely is disgusting. It has been blown way out of proportion. Hello there. I believe Pirate Software is mainly at fault for this. I believe this is because of three points: One: Pirate Software Had Mage Gem, and That could be use To kill the boses. 2: pirate Sofware had Intellectual, and Combatative Strateges, and he is the Smartest, Strongest, and Cleverest of this group. I feel PS is just right to be honest. People fucked up, pulled more by accident, couldn't or didn't handle it, he couldn't do anything so ran for safety, which makes sense, too many people are butthurt. Threats like that over any of this is just insane, sure, you put a lot of time into this, you also made plenty of money off of this, people fucked up, with harcore characters, you knew the risk, you played poorly, he could not have saved it, so suck it up. 26 minutes dedicated to a drama that is a typical gamers Wednesday night every couple of months. We all have the opportunity to be on Pyo's channel one day lads
@@TSMiller97 just people trying too farm the situation for views and subs. Just look at all the drama channels that are now "exposing" him with random other junk.
this whole drama looks like my average playthrough of RLCraft with my friends in VC (we died to a single mob because someone thought they can beat a stinky rat)
They basically got mad at him because he didn't stood inside that dungeon with 1 hp and low mana risking losing his character permanently because his party was so dumb changing their minds in the middle of an escape call instead of running straight to the exit without pulling more enemies. They died because they pulled more enemies. And they got mad at Pirate because he got to the exit faster than them and they also were stressed out and not paying attention.| And all the drama over a game is not worth it. Also trying to cancel him and hating him over that? it's childish behavior.

@@mx-0163 your comment is disingenious. people get upset in Videogames. like thw time in aoc, when thor wiped the whole group by pulling another group of mobs and made them waste 4 hours. since he tried to blame others, they kicked him.
Because the streamers foster communities that are full of mentally ill spergs who think it's fine to send death threats over a video game. Yamato is a very toxic League streamer and his community reflects what took place.
Because one man didn't apologize for 2 deaths in a game that were primarily caused by not retreating when "run" was called for that matter. Just a general childish thing in general, I do get why people expect him to apologize but if I were him, I wouldn't either entire group f*d up and I see people play by far worse on a daily basis - the fact that most of those who send the threats f*k stuff up way harder without apologizing themselves is just the icing on the cake.
@ We both know it's just a game, lol. Used to play competetive as well years ago, not doing that nowadays anymore. Sending death threats over somethign so insignificant requires way more than just competetiveness, it requires massive mental health issues.
25:39 That, but inironically. I feel like that game only exists through a deep rooted Stockholm syndrome the community has. Every single time I hear about this game is people having a miserable time for no good reason. It's the antithesis of what a game should do if you ask me.
@@colorchangingring feel like this is the biggest reason here. These people take gaming - GAMES, playing around, fooling around - way too freaking seriously
@@wolfsongrising this though the problem from what i observed at least is that some games (or game modes for that matter) are built around being taken excruciatingly seriously that it feels more like a chore or a job (believe it or not) than, well, a game. especially in hardcore settings where you can spend a century on a thing and have it all be blown away in a heartbeat. now i'm not saying this to justify the outbursts one can have over a game over situation in this setting (most are simply puerile anyway), i'm mainly emphasizing the influence it can propagate. if someone's capable of accepting a loss that equates to years of hard grinding and work, i'm happy for them and wish this is the way everyone would treat it.
Never in a million years would I expect PirateSoftware of all things to get death threats for playing a game wrong. I was expecting him to get death threats for his Stop Killing Games take
I think it's more complicated. That whole situation from pull, to execution, to executing 'run' call - just bad over bad over bad. But since PirateSoftware has a 'smart person' fame, he was most likely expected to perform under pressure there, after all, he knows this game very well and should be doing something. So even if he panicked there, people will read him hovering over his + mana items as a malicious decision to others die. But from there it gets worse, instead of just taking it, and you know, taking a knee to crying child that is Yamato and pat him on the head and say he is seriously sorry, he did the worst possible thing, he cut him off, went on a rant and quite a long one that included straight up badmouthing his guild members and his own guild. After that he did nothing for few days about this, just playing normally, after that time his guild master did send him PM that he will be gkicking him, after 1h he never responded, so he was gkicked. Basically Soda didn't care and just used this as an excuse 'people in guild feel uncomfortable', which is an obvious lie, to kick him, but also PirateSoftware didn't go forward to you know, make a 'redeem' saga, or 'I did a bad thing, I submit myself to justice of the guild' saga. That and the veiled threats he made against his own guilds did lead to him being gkicked. I think Soda is taking sides here 100%. Multiple people should have been warned or gkicked for breaking the rules of confining harassing other streamers via their viewers, including Yamato. Since even cheaters and people like Pilav had second chances. But people mostly know that Soda is cringelord that only is in it for money. What is surprising is that PirateSoftware didn't have the balls to do with the situation. The mask of his persona fell off and everyone who hates him came out of the woodwork to get some blood. Overall, the worst parts of social media culture came to a sad peak.
noone cares about faulty play. Snupy f'd up the most in the group and noone is throwing shade at him. The issue with Pirate is that he behaved like a sociopath, fullblown apathy and 0 remorse and ppl who don't get that are legit more asocial than those streamers
"This is salvageable man" Then proceeds to pull the entire instance. That was a su!c!de squad and Thor just dodged it. Then he gets shitted on for it. He understands the game that's why he got out quick. The players who pulled more enemies actually died and that's fine. It's called natural selection. No need to blame players with common sense.
My main problem with all of this was it felt like the rest of the party was able to get by under the banner of "We all played poorly" but for some reason they wanted specifically Pirate to expressly apologize for exactly what he did wrong. Sorry, but "We all played poorly" either covers the whole party or you each need to say exactly what you did wrong. In an obviously high stress situation for a party that had no synergy the mage failed to downcast and use consumables, Rogue just bounced around and didn't use multiple skills off CD, Druid pulled even more enemies, Tank chose an unoptimized path, the healer was the only one who actually did anything. And as for Pirate ignoring the "this is salvageable," that's such a stupid call to make in hardcore! I know over the 13 years I've played Forsaken Frost Mage when I hear run, sure it may not mean "every man for themselves," but it should mean "we need to regroup before even attempting a new course of action" because my mind is running two completely different scenarios and using different abilities depending on if we're running or regrouping and one is going to impact what is on cooldown for the other if I switch. But my biggest problem is honestly Soda going over Tyler's head to kick Pirate. Even if Tyler agrees with the gkick he is war chief and allowing someone to go over his head without any repercussions is crazy for a guy who said "Sodapoppin ran this guild like shit." IMO the fight is childish all around, especially after the Discord Drama Call, and should've been handled with a simple, "None of you are allowed to party together for at least a month, go make friends with other guildmates and chill tf out."
I made a comment under Rev says Desu's video, quoting the shit they told him "we all made mistakes, we are just blaming you" the fucking mental gymnastics of saying someone doesn't have accountability while admitting you won't hold you or the rest of the party accountable is off the charts. Reminds me of the kinda shit Mercy players dealt with when Overwatch came out.
It was completely salvageable until Snupy pulled the final pack. And it's not a dumb call to salvage it. It should have been obvious to Pirate, someone who has played WoW for 20 years (says Mythic+ which is 25-100x harder content than this, is "so easy he doesn't even have to try") that the pull was salvageable. And of course, that requires him to be able to play his class at a baseline competence, which he was unable to do. Instead he ran so far away that he couldn't even see the mobs while his friends died. He essentially sacrificed much better players for his mistakes. At that point while they were still in the dungeon talking about what went wrong, everyone had apologized or died. Except Pirate. Imagine blaming others for a group failure and taking no blame yourself and instead flipping it on everyone. It's defensive, insecure, psychotic behavior. And that isn't even everything. After days of double downing, triple downing, idk-what-number-we're-on-downing, the best apology he's been able to make, all while lying and completely misrepresenting the entire situation, permanently banning anyone who slightly disagrees, and reporting RUclipsrs and Twitch streamers for siding against him, is "we didn't play perfect". Lol. Lmao even. Yeah we know.
@MrDanno Pirate cared, hence why he continued to double down and deny responsibility, and every chance he had to salvage his reputation was squandered by his ego.
idgaf about the warcraft drama but i still do think him dying on the hill of associating with " palestinians are an inferior race " asmongold is still very morally ambiguous at best
Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it's so what. It's a pattern of behavior by Thor. It's not just wow. It's eve online, it's ashes of creation, it's him being a condescending nepo baby
Who wouldn't leave in that scenario? Getting cussed out over a game where people force blame you and only you is annoying as hell and the team isn't working together well at that point
issue is he is lying through his teeth acting like he couldn't have walked out with the team instead of roaching (like the rest of the group all did) and saved them.
this is such a wron interpretation of what actually happened. how the fuck did you get that from this video? In actuallity, pirate was given an opportunity to speak his mind for minutes and everyone listened to him. The SECOND yamato started talking pirate just ditches the convo.
@@iceshadows911 Or they could've just left when the enemies were slowed down, the call was made and the retreat blizzard had been casted BEFORE the boss even reached them. The tank just staying and them deciding to recommit to the fight without even properly calling it is the by far biggest issue, not to say it's what killed them. And with the just casually asking "Why you walk off" - I'd have just continued leaving as well. Pointless fight -> callout was made -> let's just stay until we actually cant get away anymore and things are even worse.

May I correct you? *pulls extra mobs* / *ignores the call to run when enemies are slowed and an extra blizzard is being cast for help* / *pulls boss* / *stays in fight* / *calls its salvagable and wonders why mage leaves after the call was made to leave* / *blames mage for not helping out when all of them could've left when it was called or died together by actually undoing the call* Edit: Edited it / simply because I forgot that youtube uses asteriks for bold and it looks ugly as one sentence.
@@josh3of4 You really need to look further into this issue. The threats on his life are crazy. That said, you can still critique his attitude on the situation and he bailed SO HARD on his group that the entire guild didn't feel comfortable keeping him because it looked like he intentionally let his party die without lifting a finger. In hardcore, characters are perma-dead and some people spend 400+ hours getting to max level. Imagine you do all that and this guy, at the first sign of trouble, bails and lies (the stream showed him very aware that he could help) and it leads to the death of 2 guildies.

So let me reiterate as someone who never played WoW:
- Group is on route to a boss and had multiple close calls on the way
- Group begins fighting the boss, mistakes happen and shit hits the fan
- Groupleader calls for a retreat and all are follwing his command
- Group is nearly in the clear when the Groupleader suddenly decides that they should go on the offensive
- Groupmembers are out of poistion, low on ressources and the enemies are coming
- even more mistakes happen and people die
- afterwards group gets angry at one of their members for supposedly not doing enough to prevent the deaths
- all because seemingly they expected that this special guy rescues the situation and save their asses, like he is allways doing
If I got that right the I would say: If you rely on someone carrying your team and you get angry when he fails, maybe it is a skill issue, but not one of the guy you are angry at!
I dont play WoW but played some mulltiplayer games. Are WoW players dumb?
I think it more has to do with the group leader in question being an insufferable person. deaths happen in a harcore game mode and people will get upset, but the guy that made the bad calls had to blow everything out of proportion. Idk how prate allowed himself to party with that guy in the first place. I'd avoid him at all costs personally. (He's actually being put to death by only fangs now because he stole some loot or somehting.)
@@Optimus_Bull thing is he smirks as his team is fighting for their life. thats not normal human behaviour.
The fact that Tyler1 is saying things are going to far with the situation is insane on its own. What a character arc over the years.

@@KuroMochiKimchi
I have played quite a bunch of this game.
But when shit hits the fan i take control over the situation IF i have knowledge on how to approach the situation better then others.

I was out of tools in my toolbox for the situation we were in."
But at the end of the day, everyone is just being salty over a game. Yes, they make big money from playing this game. But they get that cash regardless of if they are at level cap or grinding up new characters. The people freaking out over this are acting like petulent children.
i applaud you someone who put it into words what i thought thanks!

People keep repeating that clip of him commenting on the other mage because that's what you do; people do that in sports all the time. 'Oh so and so did this .. I would of done this'.
Pirate reacted badly, I think, but in a heated situation like that I too would of been like 'why are you blaming me? fuck off'. Yamatosdeath is famous for being a league of legends player with the attitude of a child who rages and cries constantly.
Can easily see it. Bro called run then stuttered and blubbered about coming back to save it. Pirate def could've saved one more person, but Yamato had plenty of CD's he could've used to help. I def think Yamato and the Tank should hold most of the blame. Healer did nothing wrong. Druid pulled another pack, and Pirate could've saved one more, but not without somehwat significant risk to himself. And if I'm just playing with random guildies that I'm not super close to, I'm not risking my hc character for some ragebaiter goober

Worst part is pirate did everything right given a high-stress situation. Run was called so he ran popped a blizzard to try to slow enemies down blink turned around to get a read of the situation see who's running and probably to assess if he needs to burn resources to try Aid their run if he can, they weren't there they were second-guessing themselves and being indecisive so pirate continued on the original run call as you should whenever run is called in general especially in hardcore. I mean they pulled two pockets of enemies and the boss and then pull the Third pocket I'm pretty sure run was the right call from the get-go. Why get your character killed on the count of others indecisiveness and lack of leadership.

Here, there’s a very stark difference in that Thor can’t afford to take the gamble of trying to backpedal and help because permadeath is a thing here. That and the hole the group found themselves in was pretty deep, having a horde of strong mobs on top of the boss of the dungeon dogging them. I don’t blame the guy for noping out when things got particularly bad, he noped when he was told to nope, and didn’t backpedal to more than likely die on the off chance he could clutch the fight. That’s like getting mad at a teammate in Rainbow Six: Siege because they didn’t play perfectly and weren’t in a position to clutch up despite having some tools that made it seem like they could. And at that point, yeah, I'm not losing my HC character because the tank pulled bad, the druid pulled another group, and the guy who's calling the shots doesn't know anything about the game.
you clearly dont play this game so stfu
Yup. Guy said "Run" about 12 times. I'm blinking tf away at that point.

*I felt like a fool who was duped to benefit every influencer involved.*
Anybody giving a rat's arse about this controversy are falling into their engagement trap. Hating on PirateSoftware for his takes just lands you back where you started and makes them money (this is also how trolls make money on Twitter). Take a second of introspection and remind yourself why you hold a stake in the controversy in the first place.
So basically
Pirate listens to his teammate that called a run.

@@neilemminger8628 Agreed. He could have.

But let's be honest, too many streamers, especially quite a few of these guys, find themselves to be far more important and are self absorbed arrogant entitled assholes.
Everyone that threatened to kill or otherwise harm him should be arrested, simply because, well, that is illegal.

You've ran it into the ground past the crust and kept going until you hit the inner core of the earth.
The irony is funnier than this overused bit

26 minutes dedicated to a drama that is a typical gamers Wednesday night every couple of months. We all have the opportunity to be on Pyo's channel one day lads
@@TSMiller97 just people trying too farm the situation for views and subs.
Just look at all the drama channels that are now "exposing" him with random other junk.
this whole drama looks like my average playthrough of RLCraft with my friends in VC
(we died to a single mob because someone thought they can beat a stinky rat)
that rat could die and become some evil spirit, that game(mod) was crazy.
They basically got mad at him because he didn't stood inside that dungeon with 1 hp and low mana risking losing his character permanently because his party was so dumb changing their minds in the middle of an escape call instead of running straight to the exit without pulling more enemies. They died because they pulled more enemies. And they got mad at Pirate because he got to the exit faster than them and they also were stressed out and not paying attention.|
And all the drama over a game is not worth it. Also trying to cancel him and hating him over that? it's childish behavior.
Yeah Thor is my boy I knew even before starting the video it was gonna be some bullshit because he’s such a stand up dude I knew he couldn’t do something that was as bad as everyone was making it seem he didn’t even do anything bad bro played a game
first watch the video. the 1 hp is an overlay. thing is he smirks as his team is fighting for their life. thats not normal human behaviour.
@@krippaxxuseredarlordofthes9940 Normal human behavior in real life or in just a video game? His team wasn't actually fighting for their life. These are video game characters they're playing. Your comment doesn't seem to distinguish reality from fiction.
@mx-0163 so it being a videogame makes it okay to destroy hundreds of hours? wonder why thor is the only one reacting this way to his group dying. while everyone would be in disbelief etc
@@mx-0163 your comment is disingenious. people get upset in Videogames. like thw time in aoc, when thor wiped the whole group by pulling another group of mobs and made them waste 4 hours. since he tried to blame others, they kicked him.
I’m employed what does this mean?
Nothing to worry about, you are being a productive member of society, the ones that aren't are juts causing drama for no reason ;)
@ thank you my friend, I will keep this in mind
Twitter really sending death threats because one guy didn't apologize about the most insignificant things ever
@@Unknown_Genius oh please, its a helpless situation and you know what. as a competitive gamer i would dare to say "its just a game" man.
@@Cakalank helpless situation bruh? He's a MAGE

It's the antithesis of what a game should do if you ask me.
i only know one person who has played the past 10 years and has had a generally good experience but its because she doesnt take it too seriously
@@colorchangingring feel like this is the biggest reason here. These people take gaming - GAMES, playing around, fooling around - way too freaking seriously
@@wolfsongrising Here's my hot take: They shouldn't have been fooling around in the first place if they care that much.
@@wolfsongrising this
though the problem from what i observed at least is that some games (or game modes for that matter) are built around being taken excruciatingly seriously that it feels more like a chore or a job (believe it or not) than, well, a game. especially in hardcore settings where you can spend a century on a thing and have it all be blown away in a heartbeat. now i'm not saying this to justify the outbursts one can have over a game over situation in this setting (most are simply puerile anyway), i'm mainly emphasizing the influence it can propagate. if someone's capable of accepting a loss that equates to years of hard grinding and work, i'm happy for them and wish this is the way everyone would treat it.
@@theexiiedfeiiow4748 I've completely left "grind games" behind. irl grind is more than enough. inflation is a bitch lol

Never in a million years would I expect PirateSoftware of all things to get death threats for playing a game wrong. I was expecting him to get death threats for his Stop Killing Games take
Yup. That showed how much of a Muppet he was
Going to be honest, I thought he actually did something wrong that's why I clicked on the video But of course , it's just pyro farming clips
Its not for playing a game wrong. Socially inept people will never get this.
"This is salvageable man"
Then proceeds to pull the entire instance.
@@Evilconrad56 You know, I have a feeling the actual quote is "we AREN'T just blaming you"
It was completely salvageable until Snupy pulled the final pack.
@@French408 okay but who cares if he misplayed or not? it's a video game, he shouldn't get death threats over a bunch of 1's and 0's being deleted.
@MrDanno Pirate cared, hence why he continued to double down and deny responsibility, and every chance he had to salvage his reputation was squandered by his ego.

@@PsyceSB How did YOU get this interpretation from this video????
That's a lot of drama for a failed raid. Play on hardcore, reap hardcore rewards and hardcore losses. Also... *pulls extra mobs*...*dies*...*blames wizard*. What?
May I correct you?
*pulls extra mobs* / *ignores the call to run when enemies are slowed and an extra blizzard is being cast for help* / *pulls boss* / *stays in fight* / *calls its salvagable and wonders why mage leaves after the call was made to leave* / *blames mage for not helping out when all of them could've left when it was called or died together by actually undoing the call*
