I’m so depressed and ashamed. I’m 25 and just lost my virginity in January because I’ve been a virgin for so long and felt that marriage isn’t on the horizon so why not while I’m still somewhat young. Bad idea. Now I haven’t been able to step foot in a church, listen to a sermon or read the Bible. I pray to God multiple times for forgiveness and still feel dirty and horrible. I don’t feel forgiven
GOD has forgiven you, it's time to forgive yourself and you can start to abstain from sex until you are married.

Your path now is repentance, understanding you committed a sin, feeling ashamed for it, and seeking God even more than before. Pray harder, read the Bible harder than ever before. My boyfriend came down to visit me in Florida for my birthday and we had put down some serious boundaries beforehand. We sought God and He told us what we could and could not do. However, once he arrived on the plane, it was as though God's words were a mere suggestion - not a command, and we began to compromise until we crossed the line several times. Our families got involved and he even missed his flight back home. To make a long story short, it really hurt our spirits along with our families, and we felt an overwhelming amount of guilt and shame because we set the bar so high. We believed we were stronger than we really were. I began to think there was no way to mend the brokenness, but I know now that satan is trying his very best to destroy what has been built with Christ as our center. We lost our focus, several times, but by the 3rd we finally ended it and said it was wrong. Our spirits grieved so much because we truly do love the Lord and we can't live without Him being that focus in our lives and in our relationship. We desire His peace beyond anything else. Listening to your video has given me hope that we really can start again, that this doesn't have to be the end. We may have lost the trust of each other's families in a way, but it can be earned back with time. The Lord is so rich in mercy. I'm so grateful. Thank you so much!

Also, don't forget to repent and ask God for forgiveness. He wants to know that you've admitted your sin and that you're willing honor His spiritual teaching and rejoice in it. Truly our reward will be realized!
It costs $600 to $700 just to get married at a church (Catholic) and that’s only so the priest can do the ceremony not including decor or flowers...
then if you only marry in civil union which can cost about $100 it’s still a sin in the eyes of the church.

It may be a sin in a church somewhere but not everywhere. I know many churches who see otherwise. In my opinion God honors a civil ceremony. It’s a legal union.

God created sex and it is good. He wants you have that in abundance in the context of marriage. For many reasons but to protect you. What if yo break up and now you’ve given what is holy to another and not your husband? Does he truly love you or is it lust? Is he getting all the benefits without the responsibility and commitment? Is there security, emotional, spiritual if the most sacred thing you can do is outside of covenant?

It doesn’t make you go to hell. Sin makes you go to hell. We are all sinners and can find salvation in Christ. But if you are in Christ, we are to repent, and he can forgive you. But repentance means turning away from that sin and not continuing in it. He loves you.

I don't see why this has to be the end of the world. If two young people are committed, why not just move forward with marriage and family?
If you are dating someone you're supposed to be discerning marriage with the person. If you have sex and aren't married you still aren't married and have not yet made that decision to get married. You can still make that decision but honestly it shouldn't be based upon whether you've had sex or not with the person. If you have had sex consider if you actually want marriage with them or not, if not end the relationship before you fall into having sex with them again.

You do not need to breakup if there’s repentance as in not continuing in sin. If you are in Christ, 1 John 1:9 says that if you ask forgiveness he will forgive you. Like the woman in John 8, he grants her mercy and then tells her, “Go and sin no more”

I think that would be making things worse. You aren't meant to suddenly separate from each other when you first start having sex.
Sometimes it's for the best to not continue the relationship. I think if you aren't ready to marry them right now, and you don't know how you are going to continue at this point, it may be good to end the relationship. The individual circumstances should be considered as well. Wanting to wait until marriage to have sex only for this to fall apart is not a very good sign for the relationship and it doesn't always mean you should stay together. @@mattr.1887
