    I'm a Vata guy. I'm a doctor myself. But English medical sciences can't explain what's happening to me.
    They'll probably say that I'm ADHD. And it didn't feel right.
    But ayurveda explains a lot about my personality , I now have to try and make some positive changes after knowing this.

    Love how you explain Vata it makes so much sense & simple. Women tend to also have more Vata imbalances as well because of our lunar cycles - those root vegetables you mention help tons for those purposes too.

    Almost in all respects Vata ….moved away from the coast where the wind was blowing for 10 months …had to balance myself out again after moving 1600 km s to sun ….all the signs of imbalance I had …stopped eating salads & kale , broccoli etc ….again baked veggies …warming foods ( root veggies , sweet potatoe , butternut , ….kundalini yoga daily with pranayama ….yes since a year on anti anxiety panic medication and couldn’t ever sleep …now sleep with medication a bit better xxx thank u for ur confirmation

    Ahhh thank you so much! Everything you said makes so much sense 👏 It's going to be tough transitioning away from raw to cooked foods, but I have always found soups & cooked root vegetables nurturing so there's definitely something to it! Thanks again 😌

    Great video! Thank you! I am Vata. Sometimes I even have a mild hypothermia sensation when I am out in the cold. However, my body is very warm to the touch. My hands are always hot. I even thought I was sensitive to the cold because it contrasted with my warm body. After trying all creams and home therapies in the world to try to fix my chronic skin and hair dryness with no success at all, I remembered I studied Ayurveda 13 years ago and I was Vata. The only two things that I don't fit from a typical Vata list is that I have warm body and hands (but very sensitive to the cold weather - can't even drink a glass of ice cold water), and I hate all kinds of aerobic exercises. I like weight lifting.

    Hi Sahara and thank you for all your videos. I am 50-55% Vata, ~40% Pitta. I eat only fruits and fruit juices. I started to feel inbalanced this last 2-3 weeks due to the energies happening. I can't go to cooked food (that;s dead). When you are too deep into it, it's very hard to go back, and very very harmful. Raw vegan is non-sense also, because we are not made to digest vegetable matter. I tried for years, I put everything to the test. From meat all the way up to dry fasting, I tried everything over the years. 1 meal a day, 5 meals a day, intermittent fasting, you name it. This is the first time a have serious inbalances. Do you know a tropical fruit list to pacify vata dosha? (like durian, cherimoya, lychee etc.) I can only find the normal fruit list. Much love

    How would you eat if both vata and pitta are imbalanced? They seem to need opposite type of foods?

    same here, vata-pitta and a pretty big vata imbalance at the moment. I was also a raw vegan for just under a year and after the first month all seemed good. but it was all downhill after the first month. before leaving about ayurveda I had no idea what was going on. I noticed all of the recipes on your site are raw, however? am I missing something? love your videos and I agree you are gorgeous! inside and out :)

      I have been Vegan for 5 months and struggling with weight gain! This detox symptoms which I think I am still battling are terrible.
      I have been sick since February with cold and flu like symptoms. I discovered dosha 2 days ago
      I knew something was wrong
      Rawtil4, smoothies, salads , foods I usually don't eat alot of~starch! I really messed up myself in these months.
      How are you doing? Maybe vegetarian is the answer .....?

    The strange thing is i hear allot talk about constipation. i have a loose watery all the time. I did you quiz and i was bought vata. I also have some things of pitta. Should i focus on vata? Cant wait to recieve your book. because i had the same problem coming from wfbp.

    How long on average do you find it takes to balance ones doshas? I have been working on this for awhile and just when I think I am getting somewhere with my digestive fire I get bound up again. I would appreciate any personal experience anyone has.

    Ive been feeling really scattered and un diagnosed"ADD" but now i know im just unbalanced with Vata......i need routine and more grounding foods 🥰🥰🥰 and yes i have the awareness to try and stay on one task until its finished and not get distracted with others...

    I'm vata too! Im so happy to finally balance myself I started to gain weight again but soon as I balanced myself!
    Of course i still can't have milk or big fats

    This makes a lot of sense for me I always was pretty sensitive to cold and am indeed prone to multitasking a lot. Focusing is one of my main weakness. I also have trouble digesting anything heavy(like bananas). I started taking ginger into my drinks and i could feel the heat working in my throat. i'm looking forward to positive changes.

    Thank you for creating this informative video, I am a true Vata, and know how important the warming foods are for me, I was wondering about drinking green juices. They are so healthy, but not very Vata. Is there a way we can drink them?

      That's what I've been doing, as well as making sure that the majority of the juice is composed of carrots, beets, and ginger. Seems to be working out well. Hope this is helpful for you too!

    your quiz told me i was a vata body type but none of the vata stats match my answers i gave. 1 example i answered that im boiling all the time and cant stand the heat, i do not have a thinner body type. but i keep doing your quiz and keeps telling me vata for body

    Hi Sahara, nice information. I am 28 years old Electrician been doing Physical labour. All of a sudden Knee pain symptom became chronic. My Doctor named it "L1 LUMBAR DISC Gastritis". He said the gastritis in the lower spine causing the knee pain. I just want to know is gastritis called Vata Dosha? Doctor prescribed Ranatidine gastric tablet befire food. And I am staying warmer not keeping my AC to chill up body. Is this related Vata Dosha. Thanks In advance.

      Aham Brahmasmi gastritis would be more associated with pitta dosha. Fire/heartburn = pitta. Interesting that it was causing knee pain. I've been having heart burn symptoms and also knee and hip pains since having my 2nd child. Still figuring it out. Best of luck!

      I'm Pitta and I have knee issues and recently read this is a Pitta issue,.although it's easy to see how it could be confused with Vata dryness. Also, the other comment about heartburn being a Pitta issue is correct. You may need to make some.lifestyle adjustments,.reduce stress, change your diet and get off those toxic meds. It can be done, just do some research.

    I'm a bit confused by some of your phrasing... "when I was vata" "if you're feeling vata" your unique constitution doesn't ever change. They can be in or out of balance, but being vata dominant will always be something that I am, just for an example. That doesn't change, whether I am in balance or out of balance. We always have all three within us, the percentages are what make up our unique constitution. Vata dominants also wouldn't really benefit from or enjoy going to the gym, just another thing I caught towards the end. I'm interested in where you've been learning your information just since you seem to think you "used to be vata" and now you aren't... can you explain that a bit more? The doshas aren't ailments to be cured, it's simply parts of who you are. And they're not bad! :)

      hi! as you may know, we have our prakriti and vikruti. your prakriti is the doshic combination you were born with and your vikruti is that which you have today (i explain this more in The Idiot's Guide to Ayurveda which will be out this august.) so for example my prakriti has more kapha in it but my vikruti has more vata due to diet and lifestyle. it became TOO vata at a certain point, meaning my vata became out of balance and i was noticing the vata side-effects. so "when i was vata" is referring to my current doshic constitution, my vikruti. let me know if that makes sense! also i learned my information by studying in India alongside Ayurvedic doctors for two years :)

      I used to be raw vegan then just vegan for almost 3 years and felt so bad my skin and eyes become to be super dry even I ate fat so I included eggs and fish cause I was too low in cholesterol and it worked !now no more problems )try it even it can be hard in the beginning good luck!

      I was vegan too. Bloated all the time. Since I thought I was doing the right thing and after so many PETA videos, I totally ignored my physical discomforts at the time. Long story short, I am a meat eater again. I had to make a choice.

      Oh my gosh! I went vegan overnight 5 months ago! My detox symptoms were horrible and I also have gained weight, trying rawtil4, starch solution, smoothies, salads..... only to have flu and cold like symptoms . I knew something was wrong, discovered dosha 2 days ago. I must be a Vata!
      My question is, should I try vegetarian? I'm afraid that if I go straight into eating meat and dairy products I will experience negative symptoms! Please help, this has been a terrible roller coaster! I feel Sooooo guilty because of the innocent animals !

      grrr a Dosha in and unto itself is not a problem. It is the imbalance of a Dosha within the body that becomes problematic and may even manifest into disease.

    Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life. If you die without him you will die in your sin and be forever separated from him in the after life. Behold, he stands at your door and knocks! Answer the door invite him into your heart! Repent from your wicked ways and lean not on your own understanding but seek the Lord for truth in all things and HE will guide you! No man goes to the father except by way of the son who freely went to the cross, bore our sins on himself and died and was resurrected three days later so that we might be reconciled back to the father for everyone who believes in him! Salvation is a free gift! True purpose and happiness can only be found in our one true God, the one who created us! I love you all but new age spirituality is of the devil and will only lead you to your destruction.

    Almost like this is just twisting science... If you have gastrointestinal problems, of course eating more cooked vegetables, increasing your biodiversity is going to have a net benefit. That benefit is gained by ALL humans, not "just because you're a Vata". This honestly sounds synonymous with astrology where you can just make general statements that will make people go "Wow! THIS DESCRIBES EXACTLY ME!" you and most, buddy.

      What's funny about astrology is that it's actually very detailed and nuanced. Also some people feel more energized after eating raw fruits and veggies.
