Thank you for your informative video. We had a problem this morning with the oatmeal leaking out of the pressure valve. Evidently it was contaminated by prior batches of oatmeal. So everything is clean and now I know how to maintain it.
Thank you Avery much,I was having this problem today. Also this was only my second try at using my instant pot, so when it was losing the pressure and steam escaping I did try to makes sure it was closed tight nut I did not push downward on the lid. Your clear explanations is helpful.
The steam continuously leaks from the valve when it comes to pressure. It will not stop unless I I turn it off. Pushing on the valve just let’s out more steam. It only does this on high pressure mode. Do u know what the problem is?
I assume you’ve tried cleaning the valve by taking it out & rinsing in water to remove any tiny particles stuck to it. Even after cleaning if the steam is leaking, I would suggest try changing the sealing ring if the ring is not tight steam will leak while pressure cooking. Sealing ring can be bought separately on Amazon, here is the link: amzn.to/3EgFHYA
Could be something wrong with the sensor, if the pressure is building then nothing wrong with the pressure sensor. You can contact customer support & they will replace with a new IP.
I have an insta pot max and it suddenly stopped reaching a higher temp, which I need for canning. ( the max has a canning button) it's on its third year, I am lost without it.

I don't see a silicone cap that you said goes on to the float... don't have that 😮
The cap is secured on the back side of the float, without the cap how is it secured???
