I primarily purchased this because I've cooked meals all day every day for 45+ years (I raised 14 children) & I have become tired of cooking, to put it simply. 😅I did the exact same thing. Bought a 3 qt Instant Pot and just stared at it for, perhaps, more than three months! Now that I've gotten started, I cannot stop making hardboiled eggs, yogurt, oat meal, chicken dishes, and more. Glad I'm not the only one who was a slow-starter.
works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside ruclips.net/user/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again.This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.
My Mom just got one of these and was terrified to use it. She kept saying it didn't work because it didn't instantly go to pressure and I had to explain to her that it needs to boil to create the steam to make the pressure. I had to go to her house and help her cook chicken noodle soup with it to get her to trust it. I'll need to pass along this video to her and she can watch it every time she uses her cooker until she feels comfortable. Thanks for the vid!
Agree here too, this is about the 5th video I've watched. I now feel confident to get started, though one thing he missed to discuss was the inner rubber ring. Make sure to take that out and clean in between meals as well as leave lid open when storing so smells don't accumulate.

I had my IP for nearly a year before I sat down and watched a ton of YT video recipes for the IP. I picked one recipe and just went for it and boy am I glad I did! I now use my IP every single week at least once, but usually more! What a great addition to my kitchen! Love it!

Before Black friday I knew of a thing that cooked food fast and bought it. After cyber Monday I had 2 Instant pots heading to my house. After watching countless videos on your channel. That is valuable information which every user of the Instant Pot should know before cooking with it. I have the 3 Qt pot since I am single and have purchased some of the accessories I can use with it and have to buy a few more so I can do even more with my appliance. I have had my pot for over 1.5 years and got the accessories about 6 months ago, but just too everything out of the boxes and cleaned them. I just cooked some boiled eggs with the pot and they came out perfectly and I will be making pasta dishes next in it and even more dishes as I become more comfortable with it.

I’m so late to the Instant Pot family....hello...hello... Ahem....sir...are they paying you? You have been most helpful and concise in this video. You should be compensated. I mean seriously....the manuals that comes with doesn’t even show a picture of what to look for...and honestly I don’t think my manual instructions are for my exact model...told me nothing about the valve being flushed to begin with...I was worried...especially when I resorted to the troubleshooting page that said to press it down gently with a pen if it isn’t down 😒 But thanks to you I realized my model has it flushed to start with. Thank you again!
Story time. After watching a lot of videos (especially Jeffry's), I bought 3 IPs in November. One for home and the others for daughters. I bought the Duo Nova. Last night at my daughter's house I noticed our gift boxes were the same size. Yep- we bought each other Instant pots! So now I have a Duo Nova and Duo 60.
Just had my Instant Pot Duo delivered today and looked for videos about it. I find it easier to follow a video along rather than an instruction manual. You explained everything really well and my shiny new toy is now ready for the first proper cooking of a meal. Thank you!

Wish there were tutorials for cooking frozen meats. Can't find a single help anywhere, not even in the flipping manual... No where does it say how to cook diced beef or frozen chicken. Driving me mad :)

Just got my Instant Pot - this is the most fun video. Never having cooked with a pressure cooker before, I finked out and made my cabbage stew tonight on the stove in a soup pot.....but I'll do a few test runs with the water and next weekend it's a go with the Instant Pot.

OMG I wish I had found you before I even did the water test. I literally ran from the kitchen when I changed to "venting". Scared the crap outta me. LOL
Me too! I said, "See this is why I am afraid of this thing"! I am afraid it will explode! I read about accidents that have happened with these but then I realized they probably did not follow instructions and did not have the lid on right or something. I just made hard-boiled eggs with it, it was easy but it is kind of hard to tell if the valve is down so I tapped it with a utensil and it went down then I opened the lid.
@@lynneprestwood7965 ... I just my first pressure cooker and after watching the exploding videos, I am scared too. The news videos are saying that it is a safety latch fail. These people's lives are forever changed. I think I am going to give mine away. The risk vs the reward is not worth it for me.

Before Black friday I knew of a thing that cooked food fast and bought it. After cyber Monday I had 2 Instant pots heading to my house. After watching countless videos on your channel. Both pots haven't stopped working sence. Marsala, ribs, Brussel sprouts, adobo, Yogurt my favorite and more. This is an awesome tutorial!!!

Had to come back and and another comment saying thanks again. The tip about the lid is so useful. I wouldn't have figured that out!! I LOVE my instant pot. I just cook beans and rice, but that in itself is worth the money!

That is valuable information which every user of the Instant Pot should know before cooking with it. I have the 3 Qt pot since I am single and have purchased some of the accessories I can use with it and have to buy a few more so I can do even more with my appliance. I have had my pot for over 1.5 years and got the accessories about 6 months ago, but just too everything out of the boxes and cleaned them. I just cooked some boiled eggs with the pot and they came out perfectly and I will be making pasta dishes next in it and even more dishes as I become more comfortable with it.
I was just gifted an instant pot and felt a little overwhelmed reading the manual- woah- that is not a user friendly manual IMO! Your video was exactly what I needed to go ahead and get instant pot cooking! Thank you!

I'm so incredibly grateful to have found this video. I have a 3-quart mini and have trouble following recipes because they never seem to match up to anything on my IP. Ahem....sir...are they paying you? You have been most helpful and concise in this video. You should be compensated. I mean seriously....the manuals that comes with doesn’t even show a picture of what to look for...and honestly I don’t think my manual instructions are for my exact model...told me nothing about the valve being flushed to begin with...I was worried...especially when I resorted to the troubleshooting page that said to press it down gently with a pen if it isn’t down 😒
But thanks to you I realized my model has it flushed to start with. Thank you again!

Story time. After watching a lot of videos (especially Jeffry's), I bought 3 IPs in November. One for home and the others for daughters. I bought the Duo Nova. Last night at my daughter's house I noticed our gift boxes were the same size. Yep- we bought each other Instant pots! So now I have a Duo Nova and Duo 60.
best instructional video I have seen in a long time. Right to the point, easy flow, no garbage chatter...just the needed info clear and fast.
Just had my Instant Pot Duo delivered today and looked for videos about it. I find it easier to follow a video along rather than an instruction manual. You explained everything really well and my shiny new toy is now ready for the first proper cooking of a meal. Thank you!

Wish there were tutorials for cooking frozen meats. Can't find a single help anywhere, not even in the flipping manual... No where does it say how to cook diced beef or frozen chicken. Driving me mad :)

Just got my Instant Pot - this is the most fun video. Never having cooked with a pressure cooker before, I finked out and made my cabbage stew tonight on the stove in a soup pot.....but I'll do a few test runs with the water and next weekend it's a go with the Instant Pot.

You have the best RUclips for the Instant Pot Duo Plus. I just purchased the pot and very excited to start using it. OMG I wish I had found you before I even did the water test. I literally ran from the kitchen when I changed to "venting". Scared the crap outta me. LOL
Me too!!!!! I did the water test and was terrified and now I stumbled on pressure luck videos and wish I found this first!
Me too! I said, "See this is why I am afraid of this thing"! I am afraid it will explode! I read about accidents that have happened with these but then I realized they probably did not follow instructions and did not have the lid on right or something. I just made hard-boiled eggs with it, it was easy but it is kind of hard to tell if the valve is down so I tapped it with a utensil and it went down then I opened the lid.
@@lynneprestwood7965 ... I just my first pressure cooker and after watching the exploding videos, I am scared too. The news videos are saying that it is a safety latch fail. These people's lives are forever changed. I think I am going to give mine away. The risk vs the reward is not worth it for me.
