Just a suggestion: When adding seasonings to a dish, don't place the container of seasoning directly over the pan or pot. Sometimes steam can get into the seasoning jar and that can cause clumping and sometimes even contribute to early spoilage. I like to use a "pinch cup" as the transition vessel from spice jar to the dish for all my spices and seasonings - even though it is one extra dish to wash, I feel like it minimizes "ooops added too much (or the wrong)" spice or seasoning. The Instant Pot is a great tool for cooking, especially in the summer when you don't want to heat up the kitchen!

Just a heads up don’t ever cover the steam on the instant pot, it can disrupt the depressurization on the pot and can also clog the hole. Instant Pot themselves also list to never cover the steam. Happy cooking!

Love my Instant Pot....use it 2-3 times a week. Put the rack in add potatoes and about a cup of water....mix up a meatloaf put in a foil 'bowl' with high sides or an air fryer 'pot' about 8 inches. Manual on 20 mins. drain the meatloaf, drain the potatoes and mash them on sautee', quick weeknight meal. I do use the pot and put a sauce on top of the loaf and finish it off for about 6 min on 380..

As an Instant Pot user, this was nice to watch. All looked delicious too. A few tips if you’re interested. Yr sister in law is right, noodles need to be in liquid, juste to the itsy top of them to ensure they get fully cooked. Also to note, a meat recipe that speaks to a full roast has its cooking time set according to the size/weight of it (heat penetration from outside to inside), therefore cutting a large piece of meat in smaller pieces could see it be over cooked. Not so bad on beef, but can make chicken breasts hard to palate, so stick to the recipe’s recommendations. On the last recipe, you suggested adding broccoli to it, but that is a tender veggie, would not be added to beginning of the cook. Would need to interrupt the cook with a quick release at the end to add brocco and then re pressurize (it’s quick repressure when everything is already piping hot) but to give you an idea, fresh broco is set to 0 minutes and frozen is 1-2 minutes in IP to not have a broco mush. Most people like to purchase a 3 quart IP to manage the delicate sides instead of fussing with the full cook interruptions. And the small unit is nice for small batches of anything because the minimum liquid requirement of larger ones prevents small batches. My fave of all this video, and I was waiting on it was when you said I will follow every recipe and then proceeded to alter most of them. :). We are cooking sisters my friend. But as an example, when you added extra adobo peppers, you basically added liquid which accounts to liquid in the recipe because this cooking method does not have evaporation. It did not matter in that case, but if doing a rice or pasta, you might wonder why is it so soupy. Last tip I have is that if adding any tomato product, always add it on top as a last ingredient and do not stir it in. Tomatoes are sweet and scorch easy and will give you a burn notice if go to bottom of pot. Well done on the IP marathon, looking forward to more.

I invert a pint jar over the steam release and then a towel over top of that just to hold onto the jar as the glass gets hot. Basically the condensation from the steam just collects around the inside of the jar. Not sure if that would be approved or not but that’s what I’ve always done.

Hi Becky, Jillee from "One Good Thing by Jillee" had a tip about peeling garlic, which I know isn't one of your favorite things. She microwaves the head of garlic for 20 seconds, then pulls apart the cloves. Microwaving produces steam which allows the outer paper to slip right off. I haven't tried it, but thought of you. Hope it's a time saver for you.

When you use paper towel to soak up fat it is a great fire starter. Or you can use stale bread or bread crust and give to the chickens they love it. It’s great for their feathers and to keep them warm in winter

I'm a big Instant Pot fan. PLEASE don't put a towel on the vent. It's a safety hazard, can obstruct it's function, and can damage your pot. Google and you'll find SEVERAL warnings against it including the manufacturer. ❤

Of all the facts ever presented to the known universe, this fact never happened. For nearly a decade I’ve tossed a kitchen towel over the Instant Pot’s vent and have never had an issue. I own 5 Instant Pots. The latest is the 8 quart Instant Pot Pro purchase 1 month ago. Guess what? It comes with a steam diffuser, which is EXACTLY what a lightly tossed kitchen towel over the vent does. Of course they’ll advise against doing this as it is not mentioned in the instructions, therefore opening them to litigation. Any company would do so. However, with Instant Brands filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy a month ago, they probably no longer care. Stop spreading fear, uncertainty and doubt, also known as FUD. To everyone else, lightly cover your vent if you wish without fear.

You know the slots in the handles also hold the lid so any condensation drips into the channel around the top and into the drip container on the side. :) Also you should hand wash the seal the heat of the dishwasher can stretch it out.

Also look at the Ninja Speedi airfryer I got one in April and since then it’s been my main cooking source, in fact I’ve not used my oven or hob since, I also take it with us on holiday, because it also cooks rice or pasta or roast veg, on the top trivet you cook your meat or fish or chicken, it also cooks a whole chicken in about 30 mins, it grills it fry’s, it steams, it bakes, and it airfrys. You don’t have a pressure cooker but that’s not a problem to me, I just love it.

Becky.... just a tip. -- When adding garlic to a recipe, the moment you can smell the garlic, immediately add your liquid! This captures the flavor and aroma that you are looking for, otherwise it just smells up your house and burns!
For lessons on this, turn to Chef Jean-Pierre, who is an authentic French Chef and teaches online... and you can thank me later! LOL Everybody on his channel gets an automatic "smile" watching him, as he is so FUN to watch, but after catering for over 20 years, I have learned so much in the past 10 months just watching his videos on techniques of cooking. I promise, you will love him!
If I am feeling blau.... I just watch ANY recipe he prepares and am laughing by the end! I have never not had a smile on my face after watching his videos.
Also, I learned from him that you always saute your onions first.... alone, until caramelization takes place, before adding anything else... unless there is bacon, then you cook that first and saute onions in the bacon fat! I always added my onions, green peppers, and garlic all at the same time before watching Chef JP, but he is correct, dishes taste so much better if you prepare them as he teaches!
It typically takes only 20-30 SECONDS to smell garlic, if not frozen as yours was. In your case, adding a frozen puck (great idea!), I would have added this when you added your liquid.
I have had a couple of freezers go "South" on me as well!! Ya just have to bounce back! LOL

Im really enjoying your InstaPot and CrockPot videos. Love the use of garden veggies and the sides. One suggestion when the recipe calls for natural pressure release you should press the cancel button once the Instapot signals the cooking time has completed but leave the vent closed. When you let the Instapot stay on, it goes into stay warm mode, and it takes longer for the pressure to release. Otherwise, you're going a great job. You're a joy to watch. ❤😊

LOVE my instant pot! I got an extra insert pot & gaskets bcs we use it a lot. I frequently make Kalua pork (pulled pork that uses just water, liquid smoke & salt)& use kitchenaid mixer on low speed to shred. Always freeze some for later=Sliders, tacos, nachos, chilaquiles, hash.... (now I have pressure canner& I can it too!😎🤤)
If you don't have a food processor, a food chopper (look up Mueller onion chopper) makes chunky fresh salsa soooooo easy. I puree canned chipotles with adobo & freeze in small cubes, also freeze chopped cilantro, so I can make salsa anytime!!❤
    Happy cooking friends!

We just experimented a couple months ago with stroganoff in the instant pot. I've had really really good success using sliced round steak(usually, it's a tough, unpleasant sort of meat but not in this recipe!). I sauteed the meat first and then add everything. It makes the round steak super tender. I use the recipe from six sisters stuff and she adds the pasta at the end of the recipe. Another hack for pasta in the instant pot(we also do spaghetti and meatballs), you can add more water and saute until the noodles cook through. But yes, I found the same to be true as your sister, just cover dry noodles with enough liquid and they seem to cook through
