Thank you so much! I'm 73 and have been cooking for 63 yrs. and my son introduced me to Instant Pot a few months ago and I love it! At 5'5" I weighed 181 lbs. last year. Today I weigh 160!!!! NO more frying. I also have an air fryer that my husband bought for me. Wish I had both 30 years ago! lol You are a very good teacher. Thanks again!
Congratulations, keep up the good work!!!
I'm a bit older than you. My mother had one of these in the 1940's. It was called a pressure cooker. It wasn't electric though. You used it on the stove. She canned all kinds of things back then because of the food shortages during WW2.
Good for you Penny

My wife and I received a six quart pressure cooker as a wedding gift 51 years ago. I wore that thing out! I do love my Instant Pot but I used pressure cookers for a long time before the IP was invented.

Wow thank you! Good job ❤
Thank you so much for the great recipes. I'm just learning how to cook in an instant pot. I'm 73, and I remember watching my mother pressure cook food. Let me tell you, it was scary every time with the rattling of the button on top and crazy steam. I was a little nervous at first using my new pot, but it's not as scary as the old time ones.
Hello how are you? I'm johnny from California what about you?
@@johnnyjone8552 Pamela Allen from Woodlake ,CA. The closest large town is Visalia.
@@pamelaallen6543 okay how is the whether condition over there?
@@johnnyjone8552 yes , my mother had the old pressure cooker. My sister and I only had to turn down the hissing, we didn’t do well. The pressure cooker blew up. Black soot all over . It seemed the more you scrubbed the worst it got. Never used one again. This looks like it is something that looks safe I can use

Kristin, you taught me how to use my Instant Pot when I first got it. As a 78 year old invalid, it has changed my life. I was buying most food cooked (a lot of fast food). Since I got the IP almost 2 years ago, I rarely EVER buy cooked food. Your videos are wonderful.
I have one suggestion about cooking pasta in an Instant Pot. A different RUclips told me that you do not keep to cover pasta with water in an Instant Pot. Just make sure each piece of pasta is wet, and it will steam and cook perfectly. It comes out perfectly. Try it some time. It saves having too much liquid.
I’m 73 yrs old. Just bought an Instant Pot “11 in 1”. SO GLAD I found your video. Love the recipes and the instructions you provided. This is a whole new way of cooking for me but I’m really looking forward to it. Thank you for providing these easy to follow recipes. Thank you also for providing little hints pertaining to different types of the Instant Pot, such as the different buttons and the venting. Very helpful with so many pots on the market.

My first time meeting you. You cook like I do, and you don’t talk us to death. Very pleasantly concise. Thank you for a great “keeper” video.
Thank you so much for showing such great options to cook. I never realized all the possibilities of the instant pot. The idea of cleanup bring made easier too is a win win.
My tip for corn 🌽 is turn a trivet upside down, stand cobs up. Make sure they aren't above "fill line". 1 cup water, 2 tbsp butter, and salt to taste. You can get more than 4 ears in a 6 at doing it this way.
How long do you cook it for?
Wow!!! That's great!!!!! Have to remember
I only did like 6 mins
I cook my 6-8 corn (depending on size) upright for 8 min and i add 1 c water + 1 stick of butter- its the butteriest corn and fabulously delicious -just salt to your liking.
Corn cooks in hot water in less than 3 minutes. on the stove, I do NOT use my instant pot to cook corn or hamburger.
Thanks for the recipe - I did the Mac & cheese like 5 times already. For everyone - Do NOT quick release or else there will be pasta water everywhere. I you wait until the metal thingy goes down on its own (about 10-15 minutes) you'll be fine :)
Is the pasta overcooked at that point?
Just bought an instant pot, Amazon prime days, love your recipes & presentation style. When I was much younger in the late 1960’s we use to serve chili, Fannie farmer recipe, over crinkle strips of iceberg lettuce. It is a nice way to do it for summer. Jeanne (retired RN)
Thanks for that awesome idea. I eat low carb so there are a lot of instant pot recipes I can’t use, but I will try that! Riced cauliflower is one substitute I sometimes use, but it doesn’t absorb liquids so it’s mostly not the same as rice or noodles.
I use the instant pot for yellow rice - adding the butter and chicken broth instead of water. WOW...SO GOOD!
So GOOD!!
I too LOVE that masher/mixer thingie! I got mine at Dollar Tree for one dollar!
Exactly $1 next to $6 the $1 is the better bargin a dollar works just as good! :)
I have a love of the instant pot because of you and your videos. I used to be afraid to use it and now it’s my favorite appliance. Thank you for all you’ve done and for all the videos . Please keep making Instant Pot videos!!❤️👍🏼
You are very welcome Susan. More videos coming and thanks so much for watching them!
Thanks for going back to the Instant Pot, it’s because of you why I love my instant pot. I love my air fryer as well.
Thanks for sharing, Ladies! I have 2 instant pot and I just use one for rice only, and the other for other recipes! With your easy to follow instructions, I can cook more recipes now! Thank you so much. Take care, be safe and God bless you both!
works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside ruclips.net/user/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.
Love having these great tips! Thanks mucho! Helps to remind me how much I love my Instapot!
I love taking frozen skinless and boneless chicken breast. Once cooked, I add bbq sauce and it shreads so easily and with a fork. Put on Hawaiian rolls and you have the most perfect sweet bbq sliders.
I take frozen, skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cover them with a mayo and mustard mix, then cover them with Panko and put them in the oven. Works really well. They come out moist and shred very easily.
I do that with my cooked gr beef also, just know be careful as it seems to get freezer burn easier. At least did for me. Thanks for all ideas!!
Thank you for quick delicious recipes. I can’t wait to try these delicious meals.
I live in Orlando and it's pretty hot now. My father is not that good a cook, but he does well with crock pot or Instant Pot recipes. I also can't eat large meals or large portions, so a pot that stays warm is great.... it can feed people from lunch time until late at night.
Great and easy recipes.....thanks SO much! I know I can use some of these. I especially enjoyed the ideas for cooking ham and ribs! Very innovative!
You are so welcome!
I was a bit intimidated by the instapot because I’m older and remember pressure cooker accidents. I couldn’t sleep one night and found your favorite recipes. I made your creamy enchilada soup and it was delicious. It makes a big batch for 2 people and I didn’t know how it would freeze so I sent half to my neighbors. They dipped into it immediately and raved about it. Then I came home….browned hamburger in it and then cooked pasta for spaghetti. Amazing!!! I think I need to go shopping tomorrow to get ingredients for a few other recipes that caught my eye! Thanks for your time and effort! I, for one, really appreciate your help!
Oh my gosh, I can’t wait to try every single one of these recipes. Thank you so much for sharing.
Adding some Swiss Gruyere cheese and/or a small amount of blue cheese to Mac ‘n’ cheese takes it up at least three levels, it’s sooooo tasty!
I always add Gruyere to mine. It definitely kicks it up another level.
Jenni…the gruyère and blue cheese sound delicious in mac & cheese. What kind of blue cheese?
Great idea, what does NOT belong in mac and cheese is hot sauce or mustard,it is supposed to be a mild tasting dish
I love Swiss gueyere

Thanks so very much. I just bought my very first Instant Pot Duo and I am Keto and the nerves were flying. You’ve made it very simple. I appreciate your kindness very much
The diet dr.pepper roast speaks to me as a pretty good keto recipe..
Love the recipes. On the shredded cheese, there is a coating that is put on the cheese as a preservative so if you are looking for healthy and getting more cheese for your $, buy the block and you won't have the costing, plus block always tastes better.
Not if it's still frozen
That coating is corn starch, not used as a preservative but used to prevent the shreds of cheese from sticking together. Corn starch is not usually tasted in cooked meal but very noticeable used as a topping on salad.
@@1Pegasus21445it's a thickening agent.
@@jvallas no, it's an anti-clumping agent, like they said. It's not there as a thickening agent. Whatchu gon' thicken, your salad? Your taco?
Cornstarch or cellulose, the stuff they use to keep shredded cheese isn't really a health issue, though at times it can be a performance one. And block cheese is nice, but requires extra prep/processing. I use both, but most often the convenience far outweighs the quality difference
You just taught me so much! I am going back to Grad school and I am going to use the dump and go recipes to take back some of my time. Thanks!
I'm kind of amazed at how much I use the instant pot. I can cook nearly anything with this thing. Thank you for sharing your insights.
Where can I find the cheat sheet you showed? I saw this video...got to beef stroganoff, stopped the video, ran to the store and got ingredients. Fixing it right now and my house smells amazing, along with the bread making in my bread machine. Thank you for these videos...I am L O V I N G them.

You can get them on Amazon.
My husband got a magnetic one on Amazon.
I just ordered a set of insta pot accessories. I have a 6 quart power cooker. I'm so excited. I've already decided it may be the best $26 I've ever spent. I have lots of silicone pieces, a spring form pan two strainer baskets and lots of other things. Wow!
God bless you for sharing!
That is awesome! Enjoy it for sure!
Awesomeness! Thank you for the meals options.
I love this video !! :) Cannot wait to try out these recipes.
You have really made it so simple with these recipes for me to start using my instant pot. I bought one 2 years ago and only used it 2 times. I did boiled eggs and a beef roast. I have been so intimated by it. So many buttons and it just seemed too complicated. You have made made every thing so simple I'm thinking this isn't intimidating. Now I can't wait to make some of these meals! Keep on giving awesome ideas. Thank you so much!!!
I just bought mine yesterday and I am so intimidated by it. What should I start with?
Thank you so much, Kristen! It is so helpful to have so many really useful recipes group together in one video. I think that's how I originally found your chicken tacos recipe which is the first thing I ever cooked in my instant pot. Keep up the great work!
super informative and easy. Thank you. love it

Pre-shredded cheese has additives that keep the pieces from sticking together. That's why it doesn't melt as well as block cheese.
Thank you for the tip!
Came here to say this. I buy the big blocks and preshred them so I always have shredded cheese.
Some pre- shedded cheese is plastic.

I wore a Ip out. Bought it in 2015 and have never used it on any other setting then manual. I probably use it at least twice a week I've even used it when feeding a large crowd by rolling pork ribs vertically so the bone is sticking up cooking them in the instapot and then finishing on the fire. Thanks for all your great tips.
I'm watching in 2022 and I bought my instant pot duo Evo plus and I absolutely love it because it has a pan inside that has handles on it and it doesn't move around when you stir food.also when you lock it in to pressure,it locks into place by itself,I just love my instant pot,I have see an older one that is a huge size and love using both especially in the summer time because you err kitchen doesn't get too hot thank you for these recipes, love them all especially the ham yum
I just ordered this pot and your video is a magical help for me❤🎉 Thanks! 🎁🥳
Those chop stirs are at Dollar store for 1 dollar. So cool.
Dollar stores near me don't have them. Boo 👎 lol

You can use frozen chuck roast. I run it under Coldwater so it's thawed little bit on both sides( seasoning will stick that way). I put oil in the bottom of the pan and sautee it. I use water and wine. You can also use beef broth. For the carrots and potatoes I cut them up in big pieces I use baby carrots. I put them in tin foil and Put them on top of the meat, and let it cook for about an hour and 15 minutes or 20. Let it slow release for 10 t0 15
minutes. The potatoes and carrots won't be mushy. The carrots are still firmish. Thanks to RUclips I have learned some tricks along the way! I am so looking forward to making you delicious recipes!
P.s. Don't forget to deglaze the pot.
Just got my 6qt IP, what is deglazing the IP?
You are the best of all...thanks for being real and helpful!

You are so welcome!
This is the video I need!
So many recipes and cooking tips! We are so glad you like it!
Hol' up. You waited for that pot to come to temp, cooked ground beef for 25 minutes, and let it release for another 10? You can brown ground beef in a sautee pan in like 7 minutes.
Frozen? You’d have to wait for it to thaw which takes way longer. Or microwave it which makes it chewy. Sometimes it’s not about how long but how much better it tastes. Plus with the instant pot you can walk away while it’s cooking instead of standing there watching it. Less cleanup too.
@@sleeplesscrafter it doesn't take 35 minutes to cook it, even if it is frozen to start with.
Sure if you want to thaw it and stand there stirring it in batches. This way you can cook it all at once while doing other things and no grease splatters on your range.
Also the fat is good for you.
She can put the meat in the pot and walk away and do other things.
Also the ones with crisping function is great and I want that too! We like things crispy on the outer layers
Totally! I love it like that too!
Everything looks amazing!

My husband has been doing all the cooking in the house and mostly with our instant pot! I can’t stand long enough to help! Several recipes have come from Six Sisters website! Although we did tweak the Mac and Cheese recipe a bit to suit my taste better! And he loves the chop stir! Other recipes we’ve tried include the meatloaf balls and the chicken and rice among many others. We always have to tweak recipes to fit my diet restrictions! Now that things have opened up a bit here we’ve ordered food from restaurants to give hubby a break! I love the recipes you ladies come up with!
We are so glad he is able to tweak them for your diet restrictions. Most of our recipes are flexible so that you can do that. We have enjoyed a few restaurants opening up! Stay safe and it's nice to feel a little bit back to normal.

Boil eggs for 3 minutes, remove from heat, cover tightly for 10 minutes. Perfect every time!
See this makes more since to me. I love my instant pot, but for boiling eggs, no! Everyone loves to post videos that show the cook time. Never the pressurized your or release time. For 6 eggs it would have totaled about 25-30 mins. That's way too long.
I did eggs as the first thing in my new Instant Pot just tonight. It took 7 minutes to get pressurized, 5 minutes of pressure cooking, 5 minutes natural release and then 5 minutes in an ice bath. They were perfect and-even more importantly-the shells came off so easily! Like a dream.😍
You can pile up a whole mess of them in there. I will be doing my hard boiled eggs this way from now on.
I always brown my ground beef in my instant pot. I do it right after I buy it. I learned to make sure there's a gap so it cooks in the middle. 20 minutes let set 15 minutes then it is perfect. Thank you for sharing. I have never been able to get the eggs to work. They were not cooked through.
That's a great idea!
Absolutely love your menu ideas...
