Thank you so much! I'm 73 and have been cooking for 63 yrs. and my son introduced me to Instant Pot a few months ago and I love it! At 5'5" I weighed 181 lbs. last year. Today I weigh 160!!!! NO more frying. I also have an air fryer that my husband bought for me. Wish I had both 30 years ago! lol You are a very good teacher. Thanks again!

I'm a bit older than you. My mother had one of these in the 1940's. It was called a pressure cooker. It wasn't electric though. You used it on the stove. She canned all kinds of things back then because of the food shortages during WW2.

Thank you so much for the great recipes. I'm just learning how to cook in an instant pot. I'm 73, and I remember watching my mother pressure cook food. Let me tell you, it was scary every time with the rattling of the button on top and crazy steam. I was a little nervous at first using my new pot, but it's not as scary as the old time ones.

Kristin, you taught me how to use my Instant Pot when I first got it. As a 78 year old invalid, it has changed my life. I was buying most food cooked (a lot of fast food). Since I got the IP almost 2 years ago, I rarely EVER buy cooked food. Your videos are wonderful.
I have one suggestion about cooking pasta in an Instant Pot. A different RUclips told me that you do not keep to cover pasta with water in an Instant Pot. Just make sure each piece of pasta is wet, and it will steam and cook perfectly. It comes out perfectly. Try it some time. It saves having too much liquid.

My tip for corn 🌽 is turn a trivet upside down, stand cobs up. Make sure they aren't above "fill line". 1 cup water, 2 tbsp butter, and salt to taste. You can get more than 4 ears in a 6 at doing it this way.

works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside ruclips.net/user/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.

Cornstarch or cellulose, the stuff they use to keep shredded cheese isn't really a health issue, though at times it can be a performance one. And block cheese is nice, but requires extra prep/processing. I use both, but most often the convenience far outweighs the quality difference

I probably use it at least twice a week I've even used it when feeding a large crowd by rolling pork ribs vertically so the bone is sticking up cooking them in the instapot and then finishing on the fire. Thanks for all your great tips.

I'm watching in 2022 and I bought my instant pot duo Evo plus and I absolutely love it because it has a pan inside that has handles on it and it doesn't move around when you stir food.also when you lock it in to pressure,it locks into place by itself,I just love my instant pot,I have see an older one that is a huge size and love using both especially in the summer time because you err kitchen doesn't get too hot thank you for these recipes, love them all especially the ham yum

You can use frozen chuck roast. I run it under Coldwater so it's thawed little bit on both sides( seasoning will stick that way). I put oil in the bottom of the pan and sautee it. I use water and wine. You can also use beef broth. For the carrots and potatoes I cut them up in big pieces I use baby carrots. I put them in tin foil and Put them on top of the meat, and let it cook for about an hour and 15 minutes or 20. Let it slow release for 10 t0 15
minutes. The potatoes and carrots won't be mushy. The carrots are still firmish. Thanks to RUclips I have learned some tricks along the way! I am so looking forward to making you delicious recipes!
P.s. Don't forget to deglaze the pot.

Hol' up. You waited for that pot to come to temp, cooked ground beef for 25 minutes, and let it release for another 10? You can brown ground beef in a sautee pan in like 7 minutes.

Frozen? You’d have to wait for it to thaw which takes way longer. Or microwave it which makes it chewy. Sometimes it’s not about how long but how much better it tastes. Plus with the instant pot you can walk away while it’s cooking instead of standing there watching it. Less cleanup too.

    • @gokblok

My husband has been doing all the cooking in the house and mostly with our instant pot! I can’t stand long enough to help! Several recipes have come from Six Sisters website! Although we did tweak the Mac and Cheese recipe a bit to suit my taste better! And he loves the chop stir! Other recipes we’ve tried include the meatloaf balls and the chicken and rice among many others. We always have to tweak recipes to fit my diet restrictions! Now that things have opened up a bit here we’ve ordered food from restaurants to give hubby a break! I love the recipes you ladies come up with!

See this makes more since to me. I love my instant pot, but for boiling eggs, no! Everyone loves to post videos that show the cook time. Never the pressurized your or release time. For 6 eggs it would have totaled about 25-30 mins. That's way too long.

I did eggs as the first thing in my new Instant Pot just tonight. It took 7 minutes to get pressurized, 5 minutes of pressure cooking, 5 minutes natural release and then 5 minutes in an ice bath. They were perfect and-even more importantly-the shells came off so easily! Like a dream.😍
You can pile up a whole mess of them in there. I will be doing my hard boiled eggs this way from now on.
