One thing I've discovered, when cooking meat, let it sit for about 15 min after it's done before releasing the steam. When you do a quick release it tends to suck the moisture out the meat even when there is a lot of liquid.
Yes❣More experienced cooks know the value of "resting" meat before slicing. Newbies like myself are leery deviating from recipe instructions, but allowing the IP to sit 10 or so minutes before releasing vent makes a major difference in meat & fowl moistness. ⚠️You just need to factor that in the overall cook time 🕰. When you're cooking other dishes, you want final times to all complement each other. 🦉word to the wise🦉 in addition to resting & actual cook time, IP users need to factor in the time it takes for this brilliant appliance to reach pressure (before it starts cooking). That can vary depending on IP size & contents - taking from 10-20 minutes too. ⭐TIP: to cut down that time, zap your water, broth or stock in microwave for 1 minute before adding to IP. (Or, if I steam veggies, I will instantly reuse the hot water. After removing that steamer basket, I will immediately lower frozen chicken breasts on their rack into this same water.) Either of those easy steps will greatly reduce the time needed for the initial pressure stage.😉
I cook with my IP all the time. I put it on my stove top and turn on my hood fan during the pressure release. I find it helpful to get the moisture out of my kitchen. Thanks for these awesome recipes!
Hello from New York. I made the mushroom spinach risotto today for lunch. Marvelous. My first time making risotto. The only difference was that I added a spoon of cream cheese (just because it was sitting on the counter), and it turned out great. Love your recipe.
Wow!!! New subscriber. All the meals look amazing....but that pot roast with gravy!!! I'm pretty new to instant pot cooking, but I'm going to try the pot roast first. Such an economical , hearty meal.
Did a test run powering my Instant Pot with a 1.2KW/Hr portable generator. It used 12% of the battery charge, starting at 874W for about 5-10 mins then dropping to 8W for the remaining part of the cycle cooking and then slow released at 8W. So it appears to be a good mobile cooking solution.
My grandma would say, mix that flour with some cold water and shake it first to make a smooth slurry. Add that slurry to your broth to make the gravy... then no lumps. Thanks for putting this up! I'll definitely make three of these for the girls. Much appreciated.
Just a hint on thickening stock for gravy. Don't add flour to hot liquid. Mix the flour with cold water then add to the hot stock while stirring. You'll avoid those flour balls and get smooth thick gravy.

To the ladies who don't have an Instant Pot. If you're able to cook and prepare your meals with what you have, don't bother spending the money. Love the risotto! I got my first pressure cookr at 62 and haven’t looked back! Someone may have told you this by now but there is no need to slice the onion horizontally. It is already sectioned naturally and it is an easy way to cut yourself. Try just slicing it downward onto your cutting board and you will never go back to slicing horizontally (toward yourself or the air). It works fine, is safer and teaches others to do it safely too! 😃
You shouldn’t put dairy into the pot before pressure cooking. It can curdle. It’s in the user manual. Always wait until after you cook the other ingredients and add the dairy after. You can always add a little bit of flour to help thicken it.

Great videos and recipes, just a note that when you take the lid of the IP instead of putting it down on a counter top it has been made to fit into the handles (either side), then the juices will run back into the pot and saves up on cleaning the countertops too. Thanks for sharing.
I bought mine right before Christmas last year. I am so used to cooking the regular way that getting used to cooking in the instant pot it’s being more difficult than I thought it would be but I keep trying because cooking 3 or more meals at day it’s tiring and time consuming for sure.
I love easy recipes like this, especially for my IP! The thing I want to mention is that as much as I love Kirkland, I have stopped using their grinders for salt and pepper for one very important reason. THEY LEAVE PLASTIC SHAVINGS IN YOUR FOOD. I was making an electrolyte and mineral beverage and by grinding the salt into the water, I was able to see the black flecks of plastic. I then assumed the pepper is the same, but it would be difficult to see. I returned them and have never purchased them since. It's funny because my husband was concerned about the plastic in the grinder, but I figured since they're all made that way, it should be safe. I will never use a plastic grinder again.
@devildog1982z Natural release makes a BIG difference. If a recipe says quick release for meat, cut short the pressure cooking time and save some time for at least a 10 minutes Natural Release. Great video as always Allie! You guys always have such good healthy meals. Would love if you did these videos weekly! No pressure 🙂. But I really do enjoy them.
Cooking Tip : whenever you are going to add either flour or cornstarch to a broth to make gravy.......in a very small amount of warm water and the flour/starch together and mix with a fork in a separate cup/glass/small bowl.........than add that mixture to your stock. You will have a smooth gravy......No lumps at all.
I made your chicken tortilla soup tonight after accidentally stumbling upon your channel! ( Needless to say I'm a new follower now!) Wow wow wow... Family loved it. Definitely going in the rotation! Amazing flavor! Gonna try your other recipes 😋
Made the chicken alfredo tonight, it was really good! I added a couple cups of frozen peas before I stirred in the parmesan, made it even better. I also let it slow release for 10minutes instead of a quick release. Gave the chicken time to rest & didn't make a mess 😃
how come you cooked the tortilla soup for 12 minuites but the online recipe you put a link to says to cook it for 25 minutes or 14 if using canned beans?
This is cool, I will try every single one of these on my instapot, thanks for sharing. Just a little tip, I know it is a matter of preference, but try to add little butter. It's healthier.
I had never wanted an Instant Pot because I always thought of it as a faster Crock Pot and I didn’t use my Crock Pot much. Once I watched this video, it is now on my radar because you can sauté and brown before you pressure cook. If you needed to do that with your Crock Pot it required another pan and I wouldn’t do that
You can shred it in less than 60 seconds with two forks as soon as it comes out of that instant pot. Less time than it takes for you to transfer that chicken out of the pot, break out with your hand mixer or stand mixer, not to mention having to wash another bowl and utensils.
One thing I've discovered, when cooking meat, let it sit for about 15 min after it's done before releasing the steam. When you do a quick release it tends to suck the moisture out the meat even when there is a lot of liquid.

If you put a damp paper towel under your cutting board it won’t slide around. 🥕🤗 thank you for the video
I was not on the instant pot train but I think I am now! Please do another video like this ☺️
I have a fabulous pot roast recipe that I make in a cast iron pot. After watching yours, I feel confident that I can make it in the instant pot. Mine is a little different, re spices, but I know it will be fab following your method.
I LOVE roast in instant pot. I do my carrots and potatoes with the roast. Best ever.
Yummy 😋 Girl 💝 I Really Enjoy Watching Your Video 😍 And Everything Look So Good 😁 Thanks So Much For Sharing ❤️
Im awful at cooking but I got an instant pot. So far I've made chilli and turkey burrito bowl. I will try that soup and would LOVE to try the pot roast but a bit complicated for me lol
It's really much easier than it seems! You don't have to sear the meat first, you can just dump everything, set it to 60 min and go :)
First video I watched from you and wow! Impressed! Lol can’t wait to make these
I do have an instant pot & can't wait to try all these delicious looking recipes!! Thank you! :-)
Great video as always Allie! You guys always have such good healthy meals. Would love if you did these videos weekly! No pressure 🙂. But I really do enjoy them.
OMG...I just did the risotto and this is almost unbelievable. I am hooked.
I had leftovers and ate the risotto for lunch. :)
Love! You just convinced me I need an instant pot 😍 Thank you
LuxeStyleDecor Jessy seriously, game changing!
Suddenly, I see this Instant Pot everywhere!!! What’s the buzz?? Is this sold only in USA?
No, the company is in Canada. The buzz is you need one in your life.
Eric D. Yes I think I do Eric! I’m looking for one on Amazon. Thank You!
Some of the best instapot recipes on youtube. Well done.
I made your chicken tortilla soup tonight after accidentally stumbling upon your channel! ( Needless to say I'm a new follower now!) Wow wow wow... Family loved it. Definitely going in the rotation! Amazing flavor! Gonna try your other recipes 😋
Great recipes. I just found your channel. Share more recipes please.
Made the chicken alfredo tonight, it was really good! I added a couple cups of frozen peas before I stirred in the parmesan, made it even better. I also let it slow release for 10minutes instead of a quick release. Gave the chicken time to rest & didn't make a mess 😃
That’s it! I need an instapot now! lol!
The Joyful Mom lolzzz. That’s how I felt after watching these IP videos here.
how come you cooked the tortilla soup for 12 minuites but the online recipe you put a link to says to cook it for 25 minutes or 14 if using canned beans?
you also didnt add 2 cups of water like it says but tbh that seems like overkill after 4 cups of stock
im just curious
This is cool, I will try every single one of these on my instapot, thanks for sharing. Just a little tip, I know it is a matter of preference, but try to add little butter. It's healthier.
Great video! thanks for the awesome recipes! This is helping me get over fear of my instant pot! lol :-)
I recently learned to use a hand mixer to shred chicken in the instant pot.....life changing!!
Same here. What a difference!
Loved your videos! You’ve inspired me to start my own channel ❤️ would love some feedback on my videos! Sending love from Texas !
All of these recipes look soooo good, thank you for sharing!
I just got one for Mother’s Day and I am a little unsure of using it. Thank you for these recipes!
Love the IP so much we have 2 🙊 I can’t wait to try the risotto!
Megan Swarthout oh my goodness we need two! 😂 And the risotto is so good!
Everyone needs two! I love having two when I’m cooking supper in one and bone broth or yogurt in the other one!
Looks yummy! Here’s a tip... I use a binder clip on the side of the instant pot to keep it from spinning around when I stir.
So good when you have something that makes cooking life easier!
I had never wanted an Instant Pot because I always thought of it as a faster Crock Pot and I didn’t use my Crock Pot much. Once I watched this video, it is now on my radar because you can sauté and brown before you pressure cook. If you needed to do that with your Crock Pot it required another pan and I wouldn’t do that
You can use the Instant Pot's handle to rest the lid.
awsome .and your beautiful. so im try some theys ideals
i wash all vegetable because of chemical and pesticide .
Everything looks so yummy can’t wait to try these recipes thank you 😊
the fun house you’re so welcome! Hope you love them! 🥰
OMG!! I LOVE this video. I have an Instant Pot and I’m always looking for ideas. Please make more!!!
Try shredding your chicken with a hand/stand mixer! Saves me so much time!!
Mackenzie's Life Yes! I was going to comment this! Life changing 👍🏻
You can shred it in less than 60 seconds with two forks as soon as it comes out of that instant pot. Less time than it takes for you to transfer that chicken out of the pot, break out with your hand mixer or stand mixer, not to mention having to wash another bowl and utensils.
@@ceecee8757 I just use my hand mixer inside the instant pot! :)
Mackenzie's Life wait wait wait. Are you talking about a hand mixer like you would use for cake batter or like a stick blender? I need to know!
@@Prokomeni Yup! Just a good ol hand mixer! Or a Kitchenaid stand mixer if youre lucky enough to have one of those hahah.(Not me haha)
Hello my new friend. I really like your video shared. We can connect together develop .....thank you very much.
Forget me not.!!!!@@@@@
Love this! I use my instant pot all the time.
Hannah Bentson isn’t it the best thing ever? 😍
Did you wash the chicken?
Giiirl 😳! Or the beef? I absolutely wash my vegetables as well...
I was so intimidated by the instant pot until your video! Thanks for sharing! Everything came out amazing! 💜
Nutmegs Nest I was too til I just gave it a go. Now I’m obsessed! It’s actually really easy and most recipes tell you which settings to use
