I just got my instant pot duo 6qt yesterday. I found this video & made the chicken & potato soup into chicken noodle soup. I used 2 chicken breasts (they looked larger than yours, plenty of meat), didn’t have potatoes so used 3 cans of mixed vegetables, then decided to use spiral pasta. I cooked the frozen chicken first (25 minutes), added the veggies, broth, spices and pasta and cooked it for 6 minutes. Shredded the chicken & I’m done. Faster than the crock pot & extremely tasty. Love how my house smells. Definitely subscribed. Can’t wait to try more. Thank you!
Publish a cookbook with your recipies. You cook like I do. Simple is always best! I want to be first in line! Love your recipies. IP still in box but now how courage. Have far too many acacessories. You will get me through this.Am 70 and cooking for ond. Got bunches of food prep sectioned. Stay with me! !I've you all!
I’ve watched your videos so often with my 4 year old that as I put something in my instant pot the other day he said ‘sealing, not venting’ in the same way you do! LOL!
Kim Baggett that is the cutest! I wish more people were aware that their kids do pay attention to what their parents say and do! Sounds like you’re teaching him valuable life lessons. I went to culinary school but only one of my three like to help with cooking and sadly she’s away at university. She does help cook when she comes home.
Wow, what’s old is new again👍🏻 I’ve made a similar taco soup for years and the IP has made it even faster. For my husband I delete the chicken and add a can or two of beef chili, no beans because there is already beans in the recipe. Have an awesome week😁
I'm so glad I found you! I love the tip about how to put the bag into a pitcher. My daughter will love the mac n cheese. I've been having trouble with my taco soup recipe. I can't wait to try all these recipes!
You helped me so much with my Instant Pot! Thank you, thank you!!! I’m not afraid of it anymore and I’ve been successful! Anxious to try more of your recipes. BTW I love your voice and presentation! Pot Roast was the best ever! I’ve made many Pot Roasts in my years and this is by far the most tender and tasty.
Hi Kristen! New to IP and to your channel and so glad I found both! You have helped me get over the fear of the unknown with the pot and I am using it so often now. It's amazing and so are you - thank you!
Thank you l needed to see this segment. I bought an instant pot and very afraid of pressure cooking but this appears easy. I have frozen chicken breast so I'm going to try my pot today. I think l can do it. Thank you so much Six Sisters!
Love your videos! Hope the new house is going well. Just did your chicken and potato soup the other day with a couple of twists. Instead of a bag of carrots, I used a 16 oz bag of frozen peas and carrots since the chicken was frozen too. Then, after the quick release, I set the IP to saute and added a cornstarch slurry to thicken the broth. Not much, just a couple spoons mixed with water. So yummy, the wife ate two bowls and she never eats more than one!
Just finished my first IP meal. I cook the beef stew meal. I did a couple of steps that I always do when cooking meat in a stew or soup. I browned the meat(I used well-trimmed beef chuck roast), after coating it with seasoned flour. I used 1 cup of beef broth and 1 cup of red wine. The stew was delicious, but the meat and veggies were cooked softer than my preference. I will try 25mins next time instead of 30 mins. I will make the dish again. My wife also likes it very much.
LOVE your videos!! Our daughter bought me one this year for Mother's Day!!! Learning so much from you!! Thank you! :-) It's been fun copying your recipes, etc. down. Just went to the store after church & bought some ingredients to make delicious stuff!!!
Last time I made the Mac and cheese we had leftovers. I reheated scoops of the macaroni with my waffle iron- OH MY GOODNESS! Cheesy toasty brown chewy deliciousness
Jade Bell what is the link? We bought an 8 quart because the six quart we found on on Amazon cyber Monday or whatever day was a similar price we may have got the 6 quart otherwise. Although I think my husband is think of whole turkeys and chickens while I’m thinking of everyday...
Hi Kristin, Wow, these are some fantastic recipes. That mac and cheese looks awesome and the chicken one too. Actually, they all are awesome. Thanks dearheart. Enjoy time with your wonderful sisters. How's your house coming along? Take care. Claudia
Ok...these are really great recipes and ideas! Thanks a bunch! Cant wait to see what's coming next. But I'll tell you this was soo needed right about now. 😊👍
For the recipes with chicken I have found the Tyson rotisserie chicken strips in the cooler section to be wonderful. It’s already cooked and seasoned and if you get it when it’s on sale you can pop it in the freezer before the best by date.
Love your simple instantpot meals. They are recipes I have made before and forgot about them. Especially the taco soup. I have actually made that same recipe and added hidden valley dry ranch salad dressing mix in it. Thanks for all your ideas. Love your show.
LOVE the chicken potato veggie soup. I only use garlic powder and salt. I'm thinking of trying a variation using beef stock and a steak, cut up. Goes great with rice for a nice way to start the day.
You need corn and green beans and diced tomatoes in the beef stew! It makes it so much yummier too! Sometimes I throw in a carton of button mushrooms in the last few mins. Mushrooms have so many great health benefits too!
Thanks for sharing all of your recipes and I finally put my Instant Pot 3 qt pot to use and boiled some eggs and they came out perfectly and I will try the mac & cheese recipe next and use the manual setting to get the dish cooked and see how it turns out. I will also try the stew in the instant pot as well and see how it turns out. You have helped me so much and I learned from others as well and I love cooking so much and do it most of the time because I don't like eating out that much.
Thanks for sharing. I love this episode because you use more natural scratch ingredients. Can you share more of natural recipes like this than using premade or processed food in the future?
These recipes look great. I would like to try the chicken and potato recipe with sweet potatoes or yams instead of red potatoes. Should I adjust the time, next time. Also, I used Goya Seasoning, instead. I cannot wait to try the Taco Soup.
The mac and cheese is a big favorite. I think it was the first one I tried from you. :) I'm glad to see it again, especially for new folks that might not have caught it the other time. The only things I do differently: I use shells (they scoop up the cheese) and I use a lot more cheese (3 cups). Oh, and I add a palm full of dried green onions that I crush as I'm stirring them in with the garlic, in place of the parsley.
I've never done ketchup on stew, but we always put mashed potatoes on top of our chicken noodle soup. Just a big scoop right on top of your bowl of soup. It melts into the soup and is so yummy.
Hi..I'm kind of new to the instant pot. Do you think you could add some rice to the taco soup? If so, if 1 cup of rice, would you add 2 cups of extra liquid? These recipes are awesome...& everyone will think you worked all day in the kitchen! Thanks for all the recipes!!
When I want to remove air from my meal bags, I just you a straw. Slide the bag to almost closed and insert a straw and draw the air out. Works every time for me and I can freeze the bags piled up flat.
I’m needing emergency surgery on Wednesday so I could really use some quick ad easy ideas where I could Pre-fix or easily fix afternoons for supper. My mom is finicky and doesn’t like pasta or rice but loves enchiladas pinto beans and tacos. Have freezers full of frozen chicken an TV dinners. Any help suggestions? Appreciate any help given. Thank you in advance.
Thanks for sharing these recipes. I am new to Instant Pot meals, so I appreciate videos. I have several cook books, but like to see you making a dish. Autumn is a good time of the year to try out this gadget! Today was errand running day, so the slow cooker was my helper :-). Sorry I don't go on Face Book , but will follow your channel.
When you buy those cartons of broth, it's best to buy stock instead. It's much tastier! I accidentally got one of each one year when making the Thanksgiving Dressing. That's how I discovered the difference. The stock is so so much better!
Years ago a friend posted her dads recipe for stew.. almost the same except he adds barbecue sauce and mozzarella at the end!! They have this stand up thing for freezer meal prep that makes it easy too... I need to look on amazon
Great recipes for a newbie to Instant Pot. I have a question about preparing the uncooked ingredients for the taco soup. Once all the ingredients are put into a freezer bag and frozen, what pressure and how long do you cook the frozen ingredients?
I am brand new to the Instant Pot - just bought one. Learning by watching your videos because the booklet that came with it does not give much info. I do have a questions: Do you keep your pressure level on High? My pot has two levels, low/normal & high.
On your mac n cheese, I've heard that it's better to use freshly grated cheese vs. prepackaged shredded cheese so it doesnt end up stringy. Would you agree?!
Have you ever used dry mustard in your ma and cheese? I use one or two teaspoons of dry mustard, mix in. I think it is a game changer! Everyone always loves my Mac and cheese.
Im curious as to why you freeze the 7 can soup? I personally would rather have the extra freezer space--and it takes very little time to open 7 cans. This meal appeals to me as an emergency pantry meal--and perfect for hurricane season, so thank you. But I gotta know why freezing is an advantage!
You actually have a very valid point. Freezer space to me takes priority over pantry space and I'm not sure if the freezer would actually degrade the shelf life over a canned product.

1: Mac & Cheese: Would love to see if there's a way to make a Mac & Cheese recipe that's less fattening but still good. Would different cheese and elbows help? 2: You must have a big, floor-mounted chest freezer if you're storing many of those recipes in ZipLoc bags... The stew looks great, but should you use less time pressure cooking if you make smaller amounts. (I would usually be making for three.) I wonder if there's a way to InstantPot pressure cook homemade ham & bean soup (with a ham bone included)...

I made mom's beef stew w/lipton onion soup mix. My goodness, was it the best I've ever had! Thanks for the recipe Christen.
That is awesome!
Love the idea of freezing it in the jug to fit in the pot.

I’d put in a packet of instant gravy mix with the stew. It adds lots of flavor!
Chris Richter I’ve done that for many years whenever I make stew or pot roast. It makes such a difference that’s always perfectly seasoned.

Gizzy Speaks and pesticides unfortunately.
Use stock instead of water for a Mac n cheese for much more flavour. And try mixing 2-3 cheeses for deeper layers of flavour.
