    Don't know how I lived without this for so long! I make dog food for 2 of our dogs ruclips.net/user/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg (we have 5!) and it is so much quicker in this. Love having the inner pot stainless so I can use my immersion blender right in it without worrying about scratching. It makes potatoes great and fast! Still working on the vegetables, first time came out great, second time I did different ones and they were a little too mushy. Just need to adjust the time. I highly recommend this pot!!!

    I am so new to instant pot I even found an instant pot inside my cabinet above my double frig. It's an instant pot duo 6qt. Thank you for all of you videos, and sharing your tips, and recipes.
    I am actually, kind of frustrated because when I looked up the in boxing for my viva. I did not receive a bunch of things that came with everyone's instant pot on youtube :(
    I never used a pressure cooker before, and so watching you do your recipes gives me courage to first start the water test...
    Thank you, for your calming voice as well.😊
    I was surprised when you said Sacramento California because I was considering moving out there about 2 years ago. I just found that funny.
    If you have any more videos that you might suggest I watch or go to your blog site; Please, let me know.
    Thank You Again for everything.
    I hope you and your families are safe and Healthy 😷

    It's worth taking the extra step of browning the beef first in the IP on saute mode.

    • @abc-wv4in
      @abc-wv4in 6 лет назад +5

      I agree. Much better and looks more appetizing if the beef is seared first. No trouble because you do it in the IP on Saute with a tiny bit of oil.

    • @moncher2797

      I’ve always wondered about that. Does it only look different or does it taste different? It would be neat to do a blind taste test.

    • @PonderousProse
      @PonderousProse 5 лет назад +4

      It develops and deepens the flavor, and makes all the difference! And as someone said above, the meat does look more appetizing that way. Agreed!

    I enjoying some chicken potato soup now. It's the best chicken soup I've ever made. I included some chopped celery for added flavor and a few more spices and herbs (thyme, marjoram, teragon, and bay leaf). Just like yours I ended up just using some tongs to shred the chicken in the pot. It's that tender. Total time from hitting start to letting the remaining pressure out was around an hour. I'm glad I got the silicone lid since the rest is now in the fridge.

    This actually made me feel like a pro because I came up with my own chicken soup wich is identical to yours except add a can of corn and some pepper. Although I use fresh carrots ect.. I like using chicken thighs though, swear they taste way better and between the natural stock and the water from the corn its like a stew. Love it. I freeze dry it for hiking.

    Great. Made the 7 can soup twice, but the second time I didn't have many of the ingredients on hand and I think the second soup came out better and richer. Here is what I did have on hand and used instead: 8 pure beef uncured hot dogs, cut in bite-size pieces. 1 can white cannellini beans, 1 can chick peas, 1 can corn, 1 can mixed vegetables (with liquid), 1 DOUBLE can of stewed tomatoes, 3 cups beef broth, 1 24 oz. container of beef bone broth, spices, flour. I didn't have enchilada sauce, so I looked up the recipe and it called for sauteing a little flour with spices and then adding tomato juice. I sauteed flour and spices and then just added the double can of stewed tomatoes which I was using anyway. Put in all the cans I had, looked up the recipe for taco seasoning and added all the spices individually. Used 8 qt. Ultra. Amazing taste.

    On the enchillada soup might I make the suggestion of putting the sour cream and heavy cream in bowls separately The reason I suggest this is because if you are going to freeze any of this, cream and sour cream don't freeze well.

    Many people have food storage items on hand for emergencies; canned chicken might be one of those items, or a pantry item on hand in case you have to fix a meal in a hurry because of unexpected guests, etc. Food storage has to be rotated to keep useable. This is a good way to use, JMO. I love dollar carrot slices, so that’s what I’ll use.

    It was great meeting you. Because you raved so much about the Instant Pot I added it to my cart. We just got home so I had to watch a video of yours on it. Read the broth labels that you use as most of them contain MSG or a version of it which are neurotoxins. Companies know MSG is something people watch now, so look for other forms like autolyzed (autolyzed yeast extract, autolyzed protein, etc)

    I see your ketchup on the stew, and I raise you a peanut butter sandwich, no jelly, just peanut butter. My school cafeteria always served them with stew, so I grew up with that combo. Surprisingly it is a great match. My husband is the pickiest eater I've ever met, really picky, and he even thought they went well together too. I was so shocked when he said that, I was beyond speechless. I think I might have gone catatonic for a few minutes. 😀

    I’ve always been told to never put frozen chicken straight into a crockpot because it takes too long to heat up, causing the chicken to sit fully or partially raw for a long time & grow bacteria? I’d probably only use cooked (or maybe thawed) chicken in a slow cooker but that’s my preference. 🤷‍♀️ Wonderful recipes nonetheless! Can’t wait to try them in my IP. 😁

    Thank you for sharing all your IP recipes! I am fairly new to the IP community, I have the mini and love the convenience and wonderful results; I am a mediocre cook at best, but my mini makes my results awesome, lol.
    So thanks again for saving me from disaster in the kitchen, and for shaving the learning curve. Could you please start doing Thanksgiving and Christmas themed dishes so we can try them out be for the big days?
    🤗

    I did not know that you were in Sacramento. If you have ever eaten at the Virgin Sturgeon on the river or Tango Bistro on Broad Street or a number of other restaurants in the area then you may have eaten my cooking. I was the Chef at several restaurants. I live in Georgia now and really enjoy your Instapot videos.
