I don't pretend to know how football clubs work behind the scenes, but Howe *shouldn't* have total control. He's not a financial expert, he's not a sports science expert. Howe should make his priorities clear to Mitchell about what positions they need to recruit and let Mitchell do what he does best and identify a short-list of candidates. Then Mitchell and Eddie should prioritize that list and let Mitchell start negotiating. We all know if Eddie has total control, he'll never sell anyone.
Eddie has always trusted his staff, specifically his sports accent staff. He's even said that he leans on their advice. He never mentioned anything about wanting a say on finance either But I do agree with your latter half of your comment on how things should work
