It would be very useful if Paul Mitchell held a monthly press talk so the fans are informed of developments. PIF have massive plans and we need the fans to understand the path forward and why.
A monthly meeting is unrealistic, and what could possibly happen in 4 weeks that we need to know about. I'd even argue Mitchell absolutely isn't accountable to the fans and shouldnt need to explain himself to us, but he does to PIF. As much as we want to know things, doesn't mean we get to, the inner dealings of a club need to be kept private, otherwise we risk giving other clubs information that could be to our detriment

Excellent level headed analysis by someone who was actually in the room rather than the negative, knee jerk response from many I’ve listened to. Eddie has to play ball with this bloke but if he does then I for one am very positive about where we’re heading
I agree with Mitchell, we shouldn't just be looking at UK based transfers we should be looking at global transfers because most the time the better quality and they're alot cheaper, i also think Howe as one vision for the club and Mitchell and the owners have a different vision for the club. I don't see Howe being at Newcastle next season
If the Toon sell Gordon the club must ensure the fans are informed of the plans to invest it wisely in the squad because they will be upset but most will understand if the board are totally honest and lay out reality needed to move the club forward.😊
Very very very interested to hear Eddies response to this , Cause Mitchell just put him on the ropes and contradicted a lot of what Eddie has been saying
Mitchell said he was in contact with Eddie every day during the transfer market,so tell me why Eddie in his press conferences said he wasn't and that part of the job had nothing to do with him, So who is not telling the truth
I see it as there being a minor rift given a working relationship has yet to be fully formed yet. Eddie prefers to work with people he knows well and that takes time.

Yes, another excellent piece to camera again from messrs Musgrove and Bird. Can't really disagree with any of that. But as was said Paul Mitchell has to earn his corn, starting now. The Saudi PIF won't be held to ransom it seems, i just feel we could of had Guehi maybe a fortnight before the end of the window if the 70m had of been met, he was Crystal Palace's prize asset of course, but imo i think he was worth it even though he only had two years left on his contract. If you look at the Saudi pro league, and yes i realise it's a different scenario, no PSR etc, but they hold the large majority in the four top clubs out there and they are splashing out 30m 40m 50m free n easy, so we could have stretched that extra 5m to make it up to apparently the asking price of 70m, even a fortnight before the window ended. I think Guehi along with Stones are the best English defenders. And yes i would say without doubt we will sell one of our jewels in the coming few windows, i suppose it has to be done if we are going down the route outlined by Paul Mitchell.
@@lauragallagher341 Yes, very possibly, and it's some ask to get in the top four, but somewhere along the line all the top teams sell prize assets, maybe not Real Madrid or Barca. They seem to get away with it don't they, no one leaves there unless they are finished with their service and don't need them.
Thinking about the scouting network comment, is that’s what I assumed the club would try to do. Scouting networks aren’t constrained by PSR and - to me - seem to be the ideal solution to avoiding the bloated PL market where you have to compete with the so called “big 6” and their silly wages.
the same scouting network that found bruno, isak, botman from Europe is apparently not fit & the reason we only bid for Elanga on final day (who was spectacular against us at sjp last season) and Guehi, who was the best of a poor England team? It reminds me of Spurs buying Sissoko after euro 2016 - we only got £30 million because of his euros; nobody else was even close to meeting Palace's price. When you think Botman was £35 million odds, we should never have bid anywhere near £65 million
fact are we don’t know how good Guehi is - was van dyke a bargain fir Liverpool yes end of despite citing top dollar - if you want to win you want 1 Isak rather than 2 ok squad players - if you do your homework spending top dollar can work (isak)
@@rmillaree I’m more convinced of the virtue of sigining Guehi - and I still think they’ll try and sign him again in January (the question will be whether the price drops and that lures others) - than I am signing elanga.
The genral reporting on the Guehi deal from journalist was poor, deals were close apparently on many occasions and it was probably nowhere near, there was nothing to indicate a deal was close, it's all for attention but after this now losing serious credibility, there's now no reason to believe them again, and as a fan this is what frustrates us the most, we just want accurate information and we dont get it. I've do doubt the club are absolutely trying everything to improve the squad, but with a plan, which is exactly how it should be, the perception however is poor but Mitchell coming out is fine, but now there will be increased expectations to do something in January. Feels a bit messy looking in, but we have to just back them, and support the team on the pitch.

@@daniel4224 you’ve just explained perfectly why his interview was horrendous. He’s representing a joint effort by the club and all he did was deflect and blame other people. Regardless of whether there was already a plan in place, that’s a very poor approach to take in any job. Ultimately he’s in charge of recruitment. We didn’t recruit a single first team player.
