Most importantly we hav to win trophies & every season consistently challenge for top 4. Also need to expand our global fan base & increase our revenue. I've been supporting #NUFC for 30 years all the way from Malaysia. I think I'm the only one in my city that support #NUFC
What an interesting video. I was unaware of this fantastic man. He is very interesting, knowledgeable, and humorous. He certainly knows his stuff. Thank you.
Great watch, Chris.... I like Keiren Mguire, besides his fountain of knowledge particularly around football finance'(s). The Guy is a proper salt of the earth bloke. A Gentlemen....
Fascinating discussion, really impressed with the quality of your guests, hanging on Kieran's every word, in a nutshell, the elite 6 want to stay as the elite 6 and the Premier League is complicit, I pray to God (I'm not religious) that Newcastle find a way to oust these fuckers.. Great show Chris ❤
There is no hope of competing and retaining players and matching wages when these new rules kick in. The gap between the cartel 6 and everyone else will be bigger and more difficult to over come. Football is a stitch up.
The key for us is commercially. We'll begin to catch up when we generate more revenue. If we can qualify consistently in Europe every season too, that will also help. We'll get there. The Cartel can only slow us down. They won't be able to stop us. What I do believe is the referees have been told to try and screw us over in games. Many examples of this with time added/not added etc, biase on fouls.
25:02 that’s a very good point. There’s a world of difference between being shite but having respect, and being abused and losing that respect. One applied under Ashley, the other didn’t. We know which way round it was.
If PIF dont speculate to accumulate then they dont understand football or business. They probably dont understand either given the nature of their wealth tbf
I’m not concerned about having another player in our squad as every position is covered by outstanding players at this minute, what I am concerned about is if we get any injuries and have nobody of similar quality to fill the gap.
The writing was on the wall when the "Big 6" started to budget for CL qualification as if it was guaranteed. The rules basically are there to protect their income, as the alternative was for them to leave and form the Super League which nobody else (including the PL obviously) wanted.
My lady brought me the home and 3rd shirt for Christmas, £160 for the two, I've just brought my son and stepdaughter the 3rd infant kit, £70(on sale, should have cost £100) amd now I've brought the retro 95-97 shirt £90. £320 in a few weeks is a lot of money for 5shirts. The prices wouldn't be so bad, if like back in the day, they wore the same shirt for 2seasons.
Totally agree about Miggy he should have been sold when we got top 4 , after 5 years he’s had one decent season common sense dictates he was never going to repeat that season but everyone was on cloud nine and not thinking right and shooting down anyone’s concerns
I don't have a problem with players doubling their salary, through transfer. It's the fact they then think that is their true value, when looking for a new club.
I don’t think we will buy- nothing serious at least but if we can be in a strong position come the summer window we may get some good players at value as other clubs are scrambling to get sorted for psr deadline.
You could argue Chelsea an Forest prove the rule san and should be ignored if you need to progress. Our gross and net spend is incomparable to other teams … no one in PL will buy our players … we undersold ASM
(73.4)+(70.7)−27.8=116m loss over 3 years. We must be close to a PSR breach even though we reported a profit for 2024 financial year of 23m. Max losses is 105m over 3 years. Not sure when need to balance the books and whether it's June or December. Can't see us signing anyone in January looking at those numbers. That 1st loss 73m loss will off our 3 year calculation this year which hopefully gives us some wiggle room. The 70% salary rules then kick in next season for teams in Europe which is going to restrict us should we qualify. Rules are a farce.
Where is the huge incoming investments that the Saudis have access to around the world. Commercially no where hear good enough for 3yrs gone. Life long supporter here. If commercially they were stronger psr would be better. Can the√ also offer loans to club maybe? I think Saudis want us to be self sustainable tbh
@@jm8308 The new stadium. Patience... Rome wasn't built in a day. Plus we have the corrupt p.league to deal with.... Beleave you me, we're flying, considering ... lol
Hi Tony agree on patience BUT we are 3yrs in and stadium will be another 3yrs off. If you want to be number 1 you have to hit the ground running and catch up as quick as you can and for me Chris cummings is correct a bit of a joke how little they have done to bridge the gap
@@paulstones1451 Oh dear, it appears you have difficulty in reading and comprehension. He said the Newcastle owners will have spent over 700 million pounds, not that they will sign that much in players. Be better.
Our problem is we're absolutely piss poor sellers, we bend over too easy. Yes, we've not had many sellable assets from the back end of Ashley's era, but almiron should have gone after his purple patch, we all knew what it was, he didn't just become a great player overnight, wilson should have gone, given his injury record and getting closer and closer to his 30's, his injuries weren't going to stop, infact, we all know the muscles aren't the same at and after 30, so he was always going struggle more. We've not pushed hard enough to get players like hayden, lewis, targett off the books permanently. If we sold them 3 players and got £8-10m, it's money in the bank and about £130k a week off the wages. Wilson and almiron are taking near to £110k a week home and they've barely kicked a ball this season. Gillespie hasnt kicked a ball simce 30th September 2020. The bloke is being paid £10k a week to have a wank everyday. We don't let young players go quick enough when we've decided they're not good enough, Watts, Barlaser, vilca etc... we're not selling or letting them go when they had a bit of sale value, insteadwe keep renewing contracts. Watts was 24 when we finally decided release him, vilca 24, barlaser was also 24. Ashby(23), and white(22) are clearly not going make it but they're still on the books, ashby has been a total waste of money, why we spent close to £2m on him for him never kick a ball competitively. Joe white is 22 and still getting loaned out to a team in league 2. We didnt push to get fraser, hendrick, clark or gayle out for a small fee instead they piss off on loan and or just let them run their contract down. Keep letting them go on loan isn't good enough, yes, we may temporarily free up wages for 6/12months, but get them off the books for a nominal fee. Getting more sellable assets tkaes time, but weve not been good enough at what weve done so far when it comes to selling. We've got to do better.

Great insight into FFP. I’d love to know how much teams in the premier have spent since the premier began

The best part of this was when he asked if he could swear and then said 'piss'. Chris's face 😂. Chris doesn't consider that as a swear word
Very mild compared to some of mine eh? 👍🤣
We will be fine
Yeah I was expecting Chris to say something about it, but he was very well behaved in this video! 😂
We need a right winger a defender and a striker in this window to push for Europe. Hope they coming in soon!

Tbf mate Scholes said that on overlap as a Manchester lad. Either way old slim Jim has been rancid!
The real problem for us is the APT rules. Those are what are killing us financially. Otherwise our sponsorship income could be Man City levels.

How are we told we can spend 113 million over 3 years then in the next breath we have to sell to buy
Because the years go back as well as forwards I suppose
It's not that the club can spend 113mil over three years. We can make a loss of 113mil over three years.
