I think the question of "Arsenal falling off a cliff" you bring up later in the show is interesting. They're at a point where anything other than winning the league or the UCL will basically be regarded as "falling off a cliff" by many. It's a bit of a mad one.

Savva…you seem like a chap that relishes statistical analysis. However I haven’t heard you go much deeper than wins and losses to arrive at an opinion on form. I don’t know what the conclusion will be but could you please dig a little deeper (you know like expected goals, expected goals against, quality chances created, quality chances conceded, etc.) and break it down by when we had a relatively healthy team at the beginning of this season compared to the end of last season when we had a relatively healthy team. Apples to apples if you will. I really think it would resolve many of the agonizing tit for tats you and your listeners (trolls?) are frustrated with.

Also, the opponent’s form plays a significant factor. A win against a team in poor form (City) can not be as significsnt as a win against a team in good form (Liverpool). I’m simply saying that it’s more complicated than win, lose or draw. A perfect example of this is Ange’s first 10 games that were lauded by many as a revelation. The genesis of “Ange Ball” shall we say? Looking back, most of those games were against teams that were ultimately relegated or in the bottom half of the table, a ManU in shambles and the controversial Liverpool red card. Don’t be lazy mate…dig deeper 😉 There’s more to each game than just a score.
