Memphis Depay would be a truly great signing. He hasn't got many miles on the clock for a 30 year old and he's played his entire career at the top level plus he can deliver a canny free kick.

Hermoso can’t see any downside unless he wanted a stupid long deal. Even if we were to sign a younger cb in future, he is younger ( and better) than Lascelles or Burn and he can cover RB.

The problem is we have a wage cap and these players will want ridiculous salaries
Matip/Hermoso = defensive cover, Rabiot strengthens midfield and Depay up front and we may just make that 5th spot. Injuries are the biggest issue, when have we ever had the best 11 on the pitch at the same time.
Matty, nothing is ever free. These so-called free agents usually comes at a high price in terms of signing-on fees and wages.

Hi mate you’d have to be very lucky round the stadium but worth a shout asking people around shearers bar / stack. Best bet is to check the resale tickets on the website, every day just refresh to see if people are selling. Good luck!

Im hoping Mitchell sole reason for been at the club is to get transfers over the line and not turn Nufc into his little Fifa 24 dream team project. Maybe im old skool but for me a good coach/ manager has the vision to jig saw a winning formula team together built over a period. If the set up is Mitchell comes in and lands his players on Howe and says deal with it im afraid Howe will be off. Yes bounce of each other share ideas but ultimately Howe needs to give Mitchell a shopping list and his work is to get that list to the club.

'Newcastle to explore free agent market' would suggest we're actually exploring the free agent market which we're clearly not...but since as this is about free agents there must be important reasons why big clubs won't go near them. They're either too old in which case its a no strait away because with the exception of Trippier nobody north of 26 will be signed, and/or their wages are absolutely insane which we wouldn't go near either
We should sign some short term to bridge the gap until the Christmas window. We have to qualify for European football otherwise we will lose our top players.We will not do this with the current squad.
