Best part is seeing Jim and Ed laughing and smiling in the beginning....RIP Eddie P.
I know....Love the interaction
Rest in peace Ed Piskor ❤ You will be missed.
I picked this up early on after following the channel in 2019. It’s really a wild ride.
Hope you’re doing okay, Jim.
Still surprised Marshal Law was sold to me as an 8 year old, but I'm glad it was. That initial run is one of my all-time favorite comics.
slightly older but same....still too young to probably be reading Marshal Law
LOL I read it when I was 14
Simon Bisley cites Kevin O'Neill as a massive influence on his work, And from this comic you can clearly see why. Love O'Neills work. Rest in peace.
This comic is a Stone Cold Classic. ⚡RIP Ed ...~ I hope we get an Epic Art Show of your Original work re-scheduled somehow....perhaps at a new Venue.
I completely forgot about this comic until this moment. Keep Kayfabe going Jim! You can do it.
Keep Kayfabe going Jim! You can do it.
A real great Comic that too often gets overlooked when talking about the amazing stuff that came out in the late 80'ties. Pat Mills and Kevin O'Neil really had fun with this.
The first series was way more grim than the later books which were full on comedy.
Absolutely love Marshal Law. Was given the kingdom of the blind (if I'm remembering correctly) when I was 13 and fell in love
One of the greats Kevin O Neill, the artist's artist
best comic ever 👍 although the Martha Washington books are up there too. The Boys is entirely inspired by Marshal Law IMO, the Hero's Marshal Law ( and the other Hero Hunter's ) are rounding up were created by an evil corp then abandoned after their usefulness was expended. Sound familiar? Anyway, I'm not down on The Boys about it, but it's an obvious antecedent. He hunts Hero's, still hasn't found any.
Hell yes! I've been asking for this for ages. Bought it off the rack as an 11 year old.
I used to have that comic when I was a kid!
One of my favorite comics ever. Thanks for posting this Jim.
Loved Marshall Law. Amazing stuff.
awwww man ive been waiting for this ep for so long, bittersweet but im glad we got here
It's a bit like the "it's always sunny in philadelphia-crew" made a superhero-comic🤩
I wonder if the Gangreen guy considering the different ammo he might use was a poke at Judge Dredd. Not sure if Dredd had been shown with different ammo at this time or not.
I love this comic!
Kevin O'Neill, without whom British comics wouldn't have creator credits.
I bought this straight off the shelf when I saw it - I think I was in 6th or 7th grade in Brooklyn and HOLY CRAP did I not know what I had picked up. It was the kind of comic I felt I had to literally hide it under lots of other comic books so no one would find it! I was also exposed to Nemesis the Warlock at that point and MAN, I still think O’Neil is the sickest comic book artist. Ever. Period. Nothing looked like his drawing style.
One of the best series ever.
Gangreen is the gang, the dude is called Suicida.
Love Marshal Law. Read the original 6 issues, it's a tight story.
17:17 the eagle on Judge Dredd's shoulder pads was inspired by the one in Spain's 25 pesetas coins from the Franco era
I bought this from Forbidden Planet London as a 13 year old, but, i found it a dense impenetrable read, and, i havent reread it in the last 35 years. I will give it another try.
Feel very lucky to have an original page on the wall at home - Dr Shocc testing the young Public Spirit. O’Neill’s colour work is as superb as his black and white: a sponged pink/blue base layer, inks and wash on top, then gorgeous spot highlights in solid pigment on 11 x 17 paper.
The effort that went into this thing is astonishing, and only surpassed by Kingdom of the Blind, which has a tighter story and looser art.
On influences - he was obvs influenced by US superhero comics, but it was the combination of these with (c17th satirical artist) Gilray and (1960s kids humour comic artist) Ken Reid that gave him his unique flavour.
RIP Kev, RIP Ed. Power and love to you Jim.
Kayfabe effect got me again.....Who else buys issues when they watch these? Subs keep growing! Love ya Jim, do what you need to do. We got your back! Kayfabe Forever!
Thank you.
Marshall Law is amazing. Kev O'Neill's art was rarely better. He could illustrate anything. He absolutely had several phases where his art changed and they were all great. I loved his painted stuff. Watercolours? The scripts were hilarious. I remember reading it in the short-lived TOXIC! comic (which suffered from too many dud strips) and gettnig the specials when they came out. Excellent video.
The art reminds me of D'Israeli’s artwork in Lazarus Churchyard.
I love this book
Keep it going Jim
Much love through the hard times
It´s a great book!!! I read it when I was 14. Mind blowing
Glad to see you guys tackle Marshal Law. I read it a few years ago and loved it.
Hahahaha. I bought my run of Marshall Law from Buddy at mycomichop 15 years ago
👍
Just how many videos did these guys manage to record before Ed died anyways? I know it's not a hoax, but it *feels* like one just by the sheer magnitude of videos still coming out. You guys were certainly committed. RIP Ed.
One of my faves is when Marshal Law meets Pinhead from Hellraiser, a two parter if I remember right and well funny.😬
When was this episode recorded??

“ My name is Marshal Law… I’m a hero hunter… haven’t found any, yet…”
Shame you didn't mention the Chaykin/Flagg references in Kevin's San Futuro, though that might be in a later book. Definitely has a straight-up Love Canal somewhere!
Can you do a video on Dead World?
I believe they have.
been on this shit best comic ever written ever drawn
Difficult to dispute.
Marshal law > the boys.
