Yes! This reprint is a long time coming! Hopefully vol 2 will be reprinted late in 2024 and then we can get a vol 3!
I really hope they reprint vol.2, that volumes picks up in quality and it way more interesting than this one. People will see why we need a vol.3

Got my copy coming tomorrow. It actually shipped early for once back last week, which was a nice surprise, but I had to delay its delivery anyways.
I know this early Iron Man isn't meant to be the greatest, but I have a real soft spot for Silver Age Marvel and I hope this omnibus finally getting a re-release means we're gonna see some more classic Marvel get reprinted, or even printed for the first time.
Buy the heck out of this Minties, with the discount it's less than a masterworks and then (maybe) we'll get the volume 2 reprint (with that awesome Gene Colan cover).
Thanks for this review Omar. Having just finished reading my copy the only question begging to be answered is where the (Don) heck is Volume 2,3,4.......? If there is one character from the Silver Age that has truly become something completely different, it has to be ole Shellhead. Sure, the Hulk was gray in his origin too, but Iron Man transformed from a bucket into a rocket ship during this time. The Hulk remained a brute, just a different color. Roller skates in boots. You don't see that much anymore.
I have waited so long for this reprint! So pleased it is here. Bring on volume 2 and more 👍🏼

Can't wait for your overview of the Phantom Stranger omnibus. My dad likes to hear how you go into artists and comic history, and he'd love to hear your take/talks on that comic, since it's one of his favorites. 😁 Def debating on getting this one, tbh, need to make room for all this silver age Marvel.
I really miss the modern takes of the classic covers that were used on the standard editions.
Fingers crossed for a volume 3 (and beyond), even if they did smaller print runs.

I have the Masterworks but i think i am gonna double dip and grab this..everyone should buy this to get more Iron Man omnis printed.
I have cut down on pre-ordering books, but I made sure to grab THIS and Daredevil Vol. 2 and Avengers 1, 2 and 5 (already had 3 and 4) to support future silver age releases.
Pre-ordered my Omni months ago, had to get the DM cover. I love the classics & Jack Kirby. Now just waiting for it to arrive. Watching this review got me exited for it. Thanks Omar. 🤘🤖

I also knew about Iron Man mainly through the Marvel Super-Heroes cartoons, haha. He was actually voiced by John Vernon, who played the Dean in Animal House. I don't they they showed reruns on TV here in Mass, but my dad bought me some VHS tapes. Captain America and its Jack Kirby art was obviously my favorite, and made me a huge fan of the character to this day.
I kinda regret spending the amount of money I did on the original printing of this book, but the paper is like card stock. I personally love it, even though the paper in this printing doesn't look *too* terribly thin.
So glad to finally be able to get this one! Crossing fingers we'll get that vol 2 and (gasp) maybe even a 3 down the road!!
I own the original. Its paper is like card stock, the thickest printing of any book I own. You could dot a page with a sharpie and not get color bleed.
yeah I have it too and the paper is really too thick probably. Definitely the thickest of any of the omnis I have.

I think you might be talking about the old Marvel 1966(?) cartoon series? Which took scenes from the comics and just moved them around. I remember watching those as a little kid back in the mid to late 70s. I think Namor had a few episodes as well. Loved it and wish it was available for streaming somewhere. I've got this omni on pre-order and hope that the rest of the Silver Age Marvel stuff either gets reprinted, live v2, or printed, possibly a v3 :) Awesome overview Omar. Thanks for doing what you do!
I can’t wait to get this. Let’s be honest with ourselves, this is more this is more about witnessing another corner of the marvel universe being built than it is about getting great stories. Nonetheless I look forward to reading the stories and then hopefully Volume 2, 3, etc.
I bought it so there’s a higher chance that they’ll make more Iron Man omnis, specifically the David Michelinie run as it’s my most wanted omnibus reprint.
I’m also interested in it for the historical factor. I haven’t read any silver age comics, the oldest I’ve read has been Nova’s solo series from the 70s, so I’m curious about checking something out from the 60s.
When I first started collecting omni's 5 or 6 years ago, that DM Iron Man omni was being blown out for 40 or 50 bucks on eBay. Thor vol2 was 25 shipped, original 3 star wars 99 shipped, FF 1-3, Avengers 1&2 all less than 40 shipped. I miss the days of cheap collecting. I paid 50 for this original iron man, used with defects. I didn't want a shelf queen. I just wanted to enjoy reading it.
The original printing ends with the reprint covers and then a biography page.

Definitely gonna get that Adi Granav cover when I pick this up, love that modern take on a classic cover.
Hopefully this sells well so we can get a reprint of volume 2 & a possible volume 3 in the future!

Omar. I have the original in front of me. The extras pages are very different. Only four pages of original art with the original cover art from three issues crammed onto one page. The rest is eight pages of the Marvel Tales; Marvel Collectors’ Item; Marvel Greatest Comics; Marvel Superheroes reprint covers. Four to a page. That’s it. Hope that helps. I’d send a video but don’t think I can do that here. 👍

@@NearMintConditionNot sure on that as I’ve never collected the Masterworks. The latest omnibus definitely has the better extras. More original art story pages with the original art covers shown full page. Also those more modern full colour art pieces you thought were new.
4-5 years ago I would've loved to have this but I'm undecided if I want to just stick with ny Epic Collections and skip the double dip. I really liked these original issues and Iron Man deserves more credit than he's given among Marvel fans.
Gene colan and romita sr are my 2 favorite artists.
I have all five *Iron Man Epic Collection* graphic novels. There's NO WAY in this universe I'm gonna buy that Omnibus. Then you mentioned the *Gene Colan* issues. Now I futilely look from my wallet to the *Iron Man Omnibus.* And like a puppet in *Mr. Doll's* trance, I begin the process of ordering my copy.

Iron Man has never held any particular interest to me.
However, after reading Busiek's work on Thunderbolts and Avengers, I would really like to read his Iron Man.
Which means this omni may be finding its way to the sheves
Kurt Busiek, Matt Fraction and Christopher Cantwell are the best Iron Man solo writers in my opinion, all their books are accesible for new readers too

The stories in this book are so bad 😂. I have the first 2 volumes in MMW and I struggled to get through the second
