Is boron steel cabins used by other manufacturers? Just became apparent to me that safety goes beyond NCAP ratings. I guess the NCAP rating can only tell you that much because they do test crash at 64mph and its visible in the test that most cars stop the crumble zone close to the cabin, but it might not at higher speeds. Front collisions you can have two cars at 55mph, which is a much greater impact. Maybe you will have to go road accident statistics on what cabins held up the best and had the most survivors to get an inclination of what cars have an even higher rating than 5 NCAP stars, I think this is very relevant. But also for this accident the Volvo was not hit on the passenger side as strongly
Proace is not a real Toyota this is Peugeot/Citroen constriction which is a bit a shitty but I think both cars did pretty good job for 100kmh crash> I've seen worse. Also just to be clear, there are many accidents where people in volvo also die so don't you think that Volvo will save you from everything... Drive safe.

Yes the toyota has done well considering its a volvo its slammed into. Also the volvo is half in the middle of the lane. Are you sure its not other way around and the volvo veered into the other lane? From car positions it seems like that
Do not forget the details. Volvo has many improvement for steering wheel predestinated location during the collosion. Also for pedals, engine, seats, and I think almost everithing else which can harm the passengers.
@jonasf4065 vans are not built for safety like cars are. Cars are a huge risk to vans now. Problem is companies buy vans and safe vans are more expensive.
DDrive, I have seen several of your videos and am impressed with the extensive collection. Am always curious which year the Volvo was made(?). Thank you for this series. The accident occurred when a Toyota car that entered the oncoming traffic lane rammed into a Volvo XC60
Sadly there is a tarp on the road side. That’s never good, 😢 and yes I saw the below 👇 comments. I also have an XC60
So sad
I drive the exact same Volvo model. I won’t risk my and my family’s safety for any performance or looks or reliability
Very good choise 👍🦌
So do I, luckily I think the looks and performance are good too!

That's unbelievable, given that the cab held it's full shape

No intrusion into the boron steel cabin of the Volvo. The Toyota is also a 5 star NCAP but it didn't hold up half as well. Volvo all the way!

Toyota is significantly bigger and its heavier. It actually performed badly vs the lighter, smaller Volvo.

To be honest, it is quite worthy for Toyota. Thought it would be worse.

But compare the size, that Toyota was bigger. I'm glad I have a XC60.

The Volvo's the larger car, not surprising. Good, but all modern cars are safe now. Don't forget, assembly in Sweden, parts are made in Chine.
So?
Just saying Volvo aren't the only manufacturer of safe cars.
Parts are made all over the world. Some Germany, some China, some Taiwan, some Japan, some US...
