@@BimmerZen mine has currently 230.000 with first chain. Do you think its possible to change the chain without having the oil pump balance shafts locked? Thanks
Great video, thanks! Been looking for something like this. Similar fate with my N43, got rebuilt by a shop but I had my doubts about vanos getting cleaned or at least that they are good and didn't need cleaning as stated by them. Now I'm even more sure. What can stuck vanos cause? Higher fuel consumption, rattle sound...?
do i get it right that the exhaust vanos locks on full advance? it is interesting to find out when stopping the engine how you reach the full advance. as i doubt the internal spring in vanos is powerful enough to rotate the camshaft when the timing chain stopped, and oil pump makes no pressure.
I must say these are the kind of videos people should subscribing too, brilliant work 👍👍one question, can i soke the vanos unit in all purpose cleaner/ fuel and hope for the best? by the way I've just subscribed 😊😊
Thanks for the kind words! Soaking it in cleaner/solvent probably wouln't do much once all the particles are in there. If you could activate it via pressure, then it would work to some extent...
So nice, I am thankful. Wish you good luck!
Finally a N43 Video!! How much KM did had that engine? Thanks

@@bigdeal87 That's incredible. Did you do anything special in maintenance to keep it on its original chain?

@@BimmerZen Thank you, much appriciated for the quick response.
Hello, very nice video, what will happen if i torque it too much, more than 10 Nm? Will it be blocked inside? Thanks !
