God bless you Pastor Lawson. You pulled my soul out of the gutter today. I had never heard Calvinism/doctrinal elect spoke about until this afternoon. My heart sunk to my feet. My walk with the Lord has not been a smooth one, I'm still fighting the old man, fighting my mouth and thoughts. When I heard about pre destination I was sick. I don't want to go to hell and I love the Lord Jesus Christ with all of my heart. Thank you so very much for opening up my eyes to the truth. I love you as a brother in Christ!

Don't take this the wrong way. You sound like one of the elect. Fighting sin, realising your bankruptcy in the presence of a holy God. Luckily for you, it's not up to just your feeble will. God promises to keep you. Those who cry out to God will be saved. Romans 10:13
If it is just down to your own will, then praying for any family members to be saved would be pointless. God would not be able to do anything. Thankfully God saves, God opens eyes. The mystery of God. I Will Have Mercy On Whom I Will Have Mercy [Rom 9:14-18] A true Christian realises he does not deserve to be saved.

Tommy Black - There are many more Biblical Prophetic warnings in "the word of the Lord" about 'spiritual confusion and delusions' than there are about the 'physical manifestations. There was an article written 350+ years ago by a very Biblically astute man that is well worth the reading - and constantly thinking about - like the many that are attacking Pastor Lawson for his Biblically sound Preaching and Teaching.
The article by William Dell on 'False Prophets' - *'The Trial Of Spirits - Both In Teachers And Hearers'* is @
      Apologetics Coordination Team (ACT)
      www.deceptioninthechurch.com/thetrialofspirits.html
      - As C. H. Spurgeon wrote over 100 years ago -
*DISCERNMENT is not* knowing the difference between right and wrong.
*IT IS knowing the difference between RIGHT - and ALMOST right.*
How many there are in these increasingly 'spiritually wicked and dark' end times that are no Biblically sound:
      ~ ~ ~
*FOR SUCH ARE FALSE APOSTLES, DECEITFUL WORKERS,*
*TRANSFORMING THEMSELVES INTO the apostles of Christ.*
      *And no marvel;*
*FOR SATAN HIMSELF IS TRANSFORMED INTO an angel of light.*
*Therefore it is no great thing if HIS MINISTERS ALSO BE TRANSFORMED AS the ministers of righteousness;*
*WHOSE END SHALL BE ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS.*
      (2 Corinthians 11:13-15 ~ AV)
Likewise, the true believers and followers of "the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" must know and always remember that "Lucifer", "the great dragon", "that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan" is an extremely intelligent, wily, malicious, absolutely evil and "subtil" master counterfeiter - with thousands of years of practice
      - AND he is using 'spiritual confusion' by the use of delusions, fear, malevolent deceptions, and deliberate deceit - for we are told in "the word of the Lord":
      ~ ~ ~
*Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.*
*PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD,*
*that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.*
      (Ephesians 6:10-11 ~ AV) ~ Please read and learn Verses 10-20 + 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 + James 4:6-10 [AV]
      - CAPITALization and *emphasis of "the certainty of the words of truth" ~ as they are written in the 66 Books of "the law of God" ~ ane Divinely preserved in the Holy Bible [AV]* are mine - brother Nick

"Free Will" ...I am going to make this statement with as Much FIRE AND BRIMSTONE as I possibly can and then I am going to back up what I have been taught by God with God's Words. Soo you declare "I chose to follow Jesus Christ by my "Free Will" hmm You just pulled off thee GREATEST work ever seen by Man!! You just did what Adam and Eve could not!! You re-entered the Garden of Eden stretched forth your hand and ate of the tree of life by your own Free will!!
NOOOOO> Jesus Christ Himself declared "For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me." John 6:38
Are you saying you are doing what Jesus said He wasn't doing?
      AND He said
Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’ Mathew 7:22-23
If you are a Child of God saved by Grace through Jesus Christ, then you are so by GOD"S WILL...NOT YOURS.
The ONLY other thing I have to say is "May God Bless you on this day and for ALL days through the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ."
I am not a Calvinist any more than I am a Lawsonist, I am a follower of the way, I am a follower of the lord Jesus Christ and a child of God. I am eternally grateful to the grace and mercy of God and ANYONE who declares that thought to be "Sin" against God can go and speak that thought to HIM.

I respect you pastor because you really study the word of God to show thyself approved. You search the scriptures themselves and preach what God has placed in your heart.
I agree with this sermon pastor 100%. I would just like to say that there are 2 different sets of people that are classified as Calvinists. The one set is what is called hyper Calvinists and they are way off from what the word teaches, particularly since they discourage witnessing and don't even give an invitation at services. The second set, they identify as Calvinists, but they believe everything you have so beautifully taught here. Additionally, they often scold the hypercalvinists. They very advantageously spread the gospel to every person to the ends of the earth, and they also believe the Jewish people are still God's elect also and the different groups of the elect as you do. They will also say that some things Calvin did were wrong, as well as some of his teachings.
You are a great blessing to me and so many others. May God bless you. Your ministry, and family. Maranatha.

If you call out "kitty kitty kitty!" to a cat, it might come to you. If you begin to open a can of cat food cats may run to you. Is there something that only God can do that will absolutely get a person to believe? Don't limit what alone God can do. God always works through the humility of preaching. Millions have died without having heard of Jesus.
"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? I see a lot of Calvinists on here trolling, claiming man has no free will. Many bogus comments. No, God didn't create us as robots or zombies!!! I'm neither a Calvinist nor an Armenian. To many Calvinists, it's "either or", which is not true. If you're not a Calvinist, then you're automatically an Arminian! No! I'm a Biblicist.

    • @TheBereanVoice
      @TheBereanVoice 2 года назад +7

      ILoveStorms,
If you tried, perhaps you could write something more banal. No Calvinists believes we are robots or zombies. If we deny free will, what we are denying is autonomous will. The will does not act independently of the person whose will it is. We do not deny that sinners are able freely to choose whatever they desire most at a given time and that their choices are free, voluntary and meaningful.
I suspect there are many Armenian who are Calvinists. The Remonstrants were Arminians not Armenians. We know that not everyone who is not a Calvinist is not an Arminian. There are Pelagians, Semi-Pelagians, Arminians, provisionist, universalists etc. One could only wish that non-Calvinists were all as orthodox as Arminians.
If you were truly a Biblicist, you would believe what Calvinists believe. The reality is that you are pompous and don't have the sense to realize it.

Jesus says I praise you Father for hiding these things from the wise and intelligent and revealing them to babes.
Paul says I fear that as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, you would be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.
I suppose it would be fine to "intellectualize" the Gospel to flesh out more intricate understanding if you're able and so inclined, but when you start arriving at different conclusions than what the simple text suggests to everybody else, you're doing something else at that point.

Believing in our hearts that He shed His blood, and rose again for us, and He promised to save us if we call on Him.

Yes brother, however in the Age of Grace thst we live in, the Vessel of Mercy are those who willfully accept and receive the Free gift of Salvation. The vessel of Destruction are those who knowing and willfully rejected the Gospel, God's Free and Gracious gift of Salvation towards all Lost Sinners. God knew the exact number in eternity past, of all those who will humble themselves and willfully receive his Merciful gift of Salvation, by Grace through Faith in the Gospel. However that doesn't mean the Father never offered the Vessels of Destruction a chance at Salvation, he did, hence "preach the gospel to every creature." The Vessels of Destruction rejected his Merciful gift, hence they willfilly doomed themselves in the process.
All those that believe in the Gospel and came to Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, are the Vessels of Mercy "Elect".
That's how i interpret that verse about the Vessel, when i compare it with the rest of Scripture, God is Fair and Just. God bless brother, in Jesus name.

Calvinism is man trying to understand God's salvation through the mind of God. Arminianism is trying to understand God's salvation through man's own mind. From what I've noticed in Calvinism, people seem to have a rather sufficient amount of pride to believe that they can understand God's ways with their own mind.
Isaiah 55:8-9 King James Version (KJV)
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Make no mistake about it, trying to understand the mind of God with your own corrupt mind is impossible, and to think that one can do so is sheer pride and arrogance and that is exactly the very thing that they try to do, because they always take you back to the beginning, trying to explain the omniscience of God, trying to explain the very thinking nature and motive of the Lord God. Every single time I see a video from a pastor speaking out against Calvinism, the video has over twice the views as that of other videos from the same pastor. It has, in some cases, quadruple the comments. People become hateful with their comments, the very same people that claim to believe that it does not matter either way, because it is outside of man's own volition whom is to be saved and who will not be saved, and seems to provoke them to perpetuate their beliefs on others with such vehement desire, revealing a much more sinister nature and motive behind this movement. In plainer words, it's got Satan written all over it, and I will never have anything to do with this satanic movement.

See, this is what Calvinists do, they always go to their favorite "text proof", Romans 9, take it out of context, misapply them, and "simplify and make it fit" like the pastor says, making it mean something it doesn't. The "Potter having power over the clay" doesn't make the clay robots and zombies. He gave Adam the CHOICE between obeying Him, and choosing not to obey Him. But Adam's choice didn't make fallen man incapable of choosing to be saved or not. God would not be who He is, if He saved a man who doesn't want to be saved, or denied a man who wanted to be saved. Calvinism is a false doctrine. It's NOT the Gospel. It's a distortion. It's a counterfiet.

It is clear to anyone who has eyes to see that "the election" Paul speaks of in Romans 11 refers to believers in Christ from among ethnic Israelites. Paul refers to himself, an individual believer, as part of the remnant according to the election of grace. Believers are converted to Christ as individuals, not corporately. Paul was clearly teaching that God has an elect people within the elect people.

Pastor Lawson is pretty much accurate. Hebrewa 6:4 has nothing to do with saved Christians. That verse is saying the opposite of what Christians think it says. Here it is: since the Church had only One Member at the foundation of the world (in distinction to the Earth), the eternally saved transgressor cannot possibly lose that gift! You can't fall out ofthe Church, nor can you fall out of Grace. The persons written about here are a prototype of the Israel of God. They come to be in the Tribulation. They are Jews. It will be possible to fall away in that time!

hey in reference to Hebrews 6:4, I'm worried because I believe I was saved as a young child of 8yrs at a bible camp, but was not brought up going to church or anything envolving the bible when I had returned home and fell away from Christ for many years as I got older , and it wasn't until recently that I believe he has opened my eyes, because I had been very deceived by the world around me, and do not want to be anywhere near the side of satan or his followers. does this mean there is no hope for me?

I'm sitting here having the exact same thoughts.....I was saved at a 13 years old at a retreat (baptized shortly after). I remember that exact moment that I received the Holy Spirit. I remember every second of it like it was yesterday. He completely came over me and made me whole. I had been going to church prior to this but for no other reason than to hang out with friends. Once I was saved, I gave everything to him. Fastforward a few years.....I started taking drugs and partying around 17-18 which lead to me completely fall away from anything Christ once I was in college. I even went as far as denouncing him. I had everything a man could want after that in the material/flesh world. That "high" only lasted for about 6 years where I lost everything and had (what I thought) was a come-to-jesus meeting. I denounced the Satan and his chains and asked the Lord to make me whole again. I still have a couple bad habits I fall to I must admit but my life has completely turned around and I can't even sit in the same room with sin without cringing and feeling dirty. After this scripture tonight, I feel like I've been fooled....like I had my chance.....honestly, I don't know what to think right now

They're certainly hope for you if you will seek God was you are lost or saved if you will seek Him he'll finish the work he started Philippians 1:6 I know that applies to the saint but it's true for the sinner too just because you pray a prayer and ask Jesus to save you doesn't doesn't mean he did . the Bible says in Romans 1013 who so ever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved but then it says in Corinthians no man can call Jesus Lord except by the Holy Ghost which means you have to be under Holy Ghost conviction to be saved just study seek God and if you figure out your lost just let him finish the work

rawhide82 - Please remember that this message by Pastor Lawson is focusing on 'Calvanism'
Please read and think about that which is written about 'the Prodigal son' in Luke 15:11-32, KJB
I went to church, got saved, and was baptized - then 'did my own thing for 14 years - then 9/11/01 happened, and I remembered enough Biblical Prophesy to know that 'things were starting to cook'.
I do not know who was praying for me - but I went to a Church that taught from the Holy Bible - I was made aware by "the Lord God Almighty" that I had never been truly "born again". I was - when I was nearly 56 years old - I was baptized as a "converted" follower of my "Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ", and have not looked back - all by the Continuous Wondrous Mercy and Grace of "the LORD JEHOVAH".
If you can find a Biblically sound Church - please do. If you cannot, my strong advise is to make a phone call to Temple Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN and ask to talk to Pastor Lawson.
Thanks be unto "the only wise God" that you are concerned and convicted about your eternal destiny - you have not hardened your heart beyond Biblical Hope. Please read - and think - and believe - and remember that:
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
      (2 Peter 3:9, KJB)

Rawhide, if you were saved back then, you still are. It is everlasting life. How long is "everlasting"? The passage in Hebrews is for the upcoming Tribulation Period, where there is a combination of faith and works and a person has to endure until the end, and will lose salvation if they take the mark of the beast. Don't go to Matthew, Hebrews or James for Church Age doctrine of salvation. At the moment, there is nothing that a believer could do that would make him lose his salvation.

Adam, Jack said it well. Salvation cannot be lost. You need to find a good independent Baptist Church and attend it faithfully. That will give you support and assurance. If you can't find one, watch Pastor Lawson a lot. This man is one of the finest preachers I have ever heard (and I have been in over 350 Baptist Churches as a missionary). You won't find a better preacher or Church. Also, make sure you have a King James Bible, and read it every day. That Bible is 100% perfect. Get a copy without any of those "readalong comments that attack the text

    1. The acronym T.u.l.i.p. didn't come about until 1618,1619. Calvin died in 1564. The acronym was in response to the Arminians at the synod of Dort.
    2. Michael Servetus was a heretic by any Christian standard by denying the trinity yet you called him brilliant WOW.
    3. John Calvin didn't name his thought others did as an insult. Further more it would be the doctrine of Grace. Which Calvin built off of a earlier thought which came from Augustine of Hippo who was around in the 4 ce. He is actually named the father of Calvinism and Catholicism with his thoughts on Grace.
    4. Huge difference between Hyper calvinsim and calvinism.
    5. Check out your own view before studying others at least you might know your own stance. My guess is being Baptist your probably Semi Pelagian which may as well be semi heretical being that Pelagius was deemed a heretic and had to back up and try again.
I could go further but we'll stop there. Examine these five points before looking at anymore.

They speak of bearing fruit to prove that God chose you, well their fruit is rotten to the core with their un-Christlike sarcasm. Their behavior is evidence that they don't even know God. If they were saved they wouldn't act the way they do.

Love your sermons Mr. Charles but I guess I’m not a Calvinist because I believe predestion and election means God already knows who will come to him and who will not. And you said Judus was an example that would go against Calvinist doctrine. But God and Jesus knew it would happen. He knew judus would betray him. Someone had to in order to things to happen like they’re supposed to. It actually supports the predestined doctrine because even though judus was Jesus’ brother and follower for 3 years, saw the miracle and such he still didn’t believe. So that just goes to say people are God’s children or the devils and God already knows who is who.
