I hate the things my flesh wants to do, and I battle daily against it. Every day I fail as sin is in my flesh always. So so so many things have just fallen away of little to no effort of my own. Some things I feel the Holy Spirit stir within me, sometimes before I say or do something, sometimes after, convicting me, and for that I am oh so very grateful. If my salvation is hinged upon my performance, I'm in trouble. Because I am not without sin. I won't try to justify it or make excuses. I am weak. I trust on Jesus Christ and His righteousness to save me. And He is cleansing me as I type this. Every moment of every day He is performing His good works in me Praise Jesus Christ.

Repentance has to be first, before confessing. Many people speak confession as Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, but then go behind Him and do wicked things. YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED BY STATING JESUS IS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR! Do you even know the meaning to REPENTANCE? Caps for importance. Just in case you're missing it. REPENTANCE IS A CHANGE OF HEART. A COME TO ACKNOWLEDGING THE WRONG YOU DO, AND TURN AWAY FROM IT.
You do not need Jesus to repent and turn from your sins. But for your sins to be washed away, and lead to life of salvation. You NEED TO BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST WHOM DIED ON THE CROSS TO SAVE US FROM OUR SINS. BUT YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED BY WILFULLY SINNING AFTER SALVATION. FOR BY THIS YOU PUT THE ONE WHOM SAVED YOU TO AN OPEN SHAME.
      HEBREW 10:26 (KJV)
26: FOR IF WE SIN WILLFULLY AFTER THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH, THERE REMAINETH NO MORE SACRIFICE FOR SINS,
      HEBREWS 6:6 (KJV)
6: IF THEY SHALL FALL AWAY, TO RENEW THEM AGAIN UNTO REPENTANCE; SEEING THEY CRUCIFY TO THEMSELVES THE SON OF GOD AFRESH, AND PUT HIM TO AN OPEN SHAME.
Repentance first, then believe the gospel into baptism. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
IMPORTANT, IMPORTANT, IMPORTANT. FOR BECAUSE WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE, WE AREN'T GIVEN THE AUTHORITY TO CONTINUE WILLFULLY SINNING.
This pastor is preaching the TRUTH. By taking a little bit out of the Bible without knowledge of the rest, makes you the false teacher. You need to repent, and look yourself in the mirror. Instead of worrying what this man, or that woman is doing wrong. Get that beam out of your eye, before helping someone get the mote out of theirs, or deceiving yourself and the flock, making yourself a wolf unknowingly. God bless you all! Shalom.

Review the story about Nicodemus, a man who knew Christ and believed Him to be the Christ, yet Jesus told Him no man would enter the kingdom unless they are born again in the Spirit. That requires repentance.

He's attacking the free gift of eternal life to all who simply believe the gospel, so how could you be in agreement with him? Listen after the 23rd minute how he denies that just simply believing the gospel for the gift of eternal life is not salvation? The bible says he's wrong.. 1 Cor 15:1-4, 1 John 5:1, John 3:16 KJV

I understand where your point is coming from but here is why I believe you are wrong about Pastor Lawson. Pastor Lawson has his definition of easy believism incorrect. He believes it means to believe in a sinners prayer or in just a bunch of head knowledge about Christ to get you saved. All Lawson is saying after the 23 minute is that believing facts about Christ does not get you saved or even a prayer but it is simply accepting the man Christ Jesus into your HEART.

I had an afternoon today with the Holy Spirit and was reminded of sins I thought I had put way out of my mind!! Sins from over 20 years ago and some even further out!! My heart is broken because I broke my Savior's heart!! I have repented for those sins and feel the Holy Spirit moving in my life!! I had even been doubting my salvation because of all the guilt I felt and unworthiness for His grace!! Before I knew it 3 hours had passed while I watched Pastor Lawson preach, and another man I don't know, and I prayed to Abba Father in between His messages!! I know what real sorrow and repentance is now!! God is making me a new person, and I pray I stay in His presence like this because it feels awesome and the weight on my shoulders has been lifted!! Grace, mercy, forgiveness and the love of Jesus is the best thing in the world...and I feel like I have a fire in me that can't be contained, and I want to share Jesus with others and tell them what He's done for me!!! He took alcohol from me 3 years ago after a 21 year addiction, and pain pills from me 19 months ago (a 7 year addiction due to getting hooked on them after many surgeries-more needs to be done about these doctors prescribing them so freely!!)....but today was by far the best day I have ever had with the Lord!!! To me I understand fear of the Lord as far more than respect or reverence for God...but not to the point where I am so afraid I try to run and hide. It's somewhere in between but closer to running to hide...I don't know how to explain it really, but I feel it in my soul. He created everything we see and the whole universe! He was able to make the sun stand still for a full day for Israel! My, my....what power He has!!! I can't even begin to understand the mind of God, but I am so thankful He sent His Son Jesus to die for me!!! I love Him so...and my Bible is the most precious possession I have! It is God's love letter to me, it is His instructions for how to live my life, and gives me assurance that I will get to be in Heaven to fall at Jesus's feet one day!! He is EVERYTHING to me!!!!

Reprobate mind is rejected by God.. you go so far and your conscience is seared and sin no longer "bothers" you or "convicts" you or " saddens you to repentance" .. you just become "dead to sin" and that is dangerous.. hard to come out of that mindset.. usually takes a serious life changing event to 'snap" out of it and get on your knees and get right with God... for it is He that gives space to repent... we can choose to dismiss His word or say " ok God... you're in charge.. thine will, not mine be done " .... "even the demons believed, and trembled".... an "easy believer" likes to have it both ways generally.. it's a "concept" ... "" oh I believe in Jesus " and that weekend they're out drinking and having sex.. and think come sunday, they go to church.. appear good.. say " oh yeah I believe ".. but do not have a repentant heart towards sin, they were never saved to begin with..and have received the spirit of the anti-Christ.. because they are doing things that are not in the nature of a Christian to do... Lord help me repent of that sin... forgive me for breaking communion with you Lord.. it's alllllllll my fault... sstrenghten me Lord... strengthen me Father!!! ... but an easy believer does not want to feel condemned or guilty.. so generally (almost always) they will lash out at anyone who uses the word repent... or a preacher that 'threatens' their lifestyle or makes them feel "guilty or conviction" (God forbid right?) ....they 100% do not want to feel condemned as they are either living in sin (pre marital sex) or whatever it may be, and do NOT want to think they're "in trouble with God" for disobeying so many commands... jesus preached on repentance MORe than anyone int he bible.... more than anyone. I tell people get a KJV .... see how many times you see jesus use the word repent... when peter said " we ought to obey God rather than man ".. an easy believer wants to hear "light gospel" one that makes them feel good and not condemned.. or it's "you false teacher" this! or "hey that's a work!"... when in luke it clearly says .. "repent or perish".. i'll take God's word over any preacher or man or easy believer... we are to stirve not to habitually sin... everyone will slip.. but we don't live for sin.. we don't wallow in it.... I sinned last night and I still feel horrible about it... .but a Godly sorrow .... I am sorry that I hurt my Father in Heaven... and know the chastening is on its way.. and am grateful for his rod and sstaff... an easy believer generally does not feel "guilty"... as many instances their consiences have been 'seared" like a hot iron and the sin no longer "bothers" them or they've gotten to a point where they say " hey I believe that should be good enough.. look at the jailer! "... but they have no desire to please God or turn from what they know is wrong, and so God is not " in all their thoughts " and has turned them over to a reprobate mind... and all we can do is pray for them. 9 times out of 10 it is a "believer" who is having a pre martial relationship and "planning on getting married" or another dark sin that they "can't give up, i'm human. we sin" etc... and they have not had a "new birth" or "regeneration"... their hearts need to be converted... they have "belief" in their mind, but the fear of God is no in their hearts... pray for them

BenRedeemed!! - Well said - and Thank you.
      - Personally - I am very thankful for the godly Preaching and Teaching of the Biblically sound messages by Pastor Charles Lawson.
As a 'Blood Brought' sinner who hath been given the grace to go back to my "Father which art in heaven" oh so many times - I am able to "believeth" in "the certainty of the words of truth" that were written by "our beloved brother Paul" in 2 Corinthians 7:9-12 [AV] :
      *Now I rejoice,*
not that ye were made sorry, *but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.*
*For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of:*
but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
*For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you,*
*yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge!*
*In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.*
*Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for* his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong,
*but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.*
Oh that more truly Biblically "born again" "believeth" followers of "our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" who truly "saved by grace through faith" will remember - and "believeth" that which King David wrote some 3,000 years ago in Psalm 19:7-14 [AV] :
*The law of the LORD is perfect,*
*converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.*
*The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.*
*The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever:*
*the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.*
*More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold:*
*sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.*
*Moreover by them is thy servant warned:*
*and in keeping of them there is great reward.*
      *Who can understand* his errors?
*cleanse thou me from* secret faults.
      *Keep back thy servant also from* presumptuous sins;
let them not have dominion over me:
*then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from* the great transgression.
*Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.*
How many self-righteous judges of truly godly men have ever thought about that which "our beloved brother Paul" also wrote in 5 Corinthians 10:5 [AV] :
*"... , and bringing into captivity every thought TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST;"*
      - Personally - I have needs of true *REPENTANCE* of that part of JUST ONE VERSE very-very-very frequently - and I'm a 70+ year old widower !
Personally - I know that I am a 'Biblical CHRISTian' that has the need to personally remember and apply in my life *every word* that was written in *Psalm 51 [AV]* by King David
      - especially:
[10] *Create in me a clean heart, O God;*
*and renew a right spirit within me.*
[17] *The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit:*
*a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.*
      .

“Repentance is a godly sorrow for sin. Repentance is a forsaking of sin. Real repentance is putting your trust in Jesus Christ so you will not live like that anymore. Repentance is permanent. It is a lifelong and an eternity-long experience. You will never love the devil again once you repent. You will never flirt with the devil as the habit of your life again once you get saved. You will never be happy living in sin; it will never satisfy; and the husks of the world will never fill your longing and hungering in your soul. Repentance is something a lot bigger than a lot of people think. It is absolutely essential if you go to heaven” (Lester Roloff, Repent or Perish, 1950s).

Very powerful sermon Charles Lawson, glory be to the most high God and his Son the Lord Jesus Christ. A time before while thinking about an addiction I have had in the past of masturbating to porn, I thought I could have been in danger of being given over to a reprobate mind if I had continued in it. I should thank and praise God for not crossing that line.

I think there are many missunderstandings about this. In another sermon brother Lawson tells there are people who are still babes in Christ after fourty years. All brother Lawson is saying is that a changed life will eventually follow and that there indeed are many preachers who dropped the sin issue. You must first realize that you are a sinner before you can get saved. Unlike Ray Comfort, Todd Friel or David Cloud, brother Lawson does not teach you must first be willing to forsake your sins to get saved. No, he is telling that if you are truly saved a change is gonna come. Yes, AFTER salvation!

In believing the gospel and thereby accepting Christ as Savior in His sacrifice for sins, one is admitting to being a sinner, to being sorry for his sin and desiring deliverance from its penalty. In that very act of faith in Christ for dying in one’s place, there is repentance and turning from sin to the Savior. To be saved, one must only believe the gospel. That is the promise of God’s Word. 👈👈👈 John 6:47: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” - Jesus 👈

“Saving faith includes repentance. Repentance is not doing anything. It is not a deed, act, work, or rite. Rather, it is a change of the direction of one’s heart. It basically means an attitude of the heart in turning from sin and self and turning to God. That’s what Paul was referring to in Acts 20:21 when he referred to ‘repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.’ Saving faith is the human heart turning to God and then trusting in Jesus Christ. ... Even as there is the part of trusting Christ, there is also the part of turning to Him. That may seem inconsequential, but I believe that here is a spiritual reason they some go through the motions of believing in Christ but are not really born again. They seemingly want the fire escape but there is no interest in turning to God. There is no interest in repentance. They have the attitude, ‘God, gimme salvation, but I’m gonna keep on doing my own thing.’ ... However, if there is no real turning to God from the heart, they have missed the prerequisite for actually trusting Christ” (Sorenson, Training Your Children to Turn out Right, 1995).

2nd Corinthians chapter 7 v.9-10: Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. ... sorry Daniel you were saying?Jesus said in Matthew " repent, for the kingdom of God is near "... " he that sayeth he walks with Him, also ought to walk as He did " ... " he that sayeth he abideth in Him, yet walks in the darkness is a liar, and knoweth not the Father " ... " be ye holy, for I am holy " I guess your version of holy Daniel is continuing on in your sin? you have a besetting sin that you are either refusing to let go of or have not even attempted to turn from, so the thought of "easy. just believe" is appealing to you.. so that you can live how you want.. fashion a God of your own understanding , do what you want, and feel as if there are no consequences.... Romans 6 1-4: What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. ... so I ask you a simple question Daniel.. are you walking in the newness of life? are you still lingering in your sin and have remained adamant that you "believe only" and you can do whatever you want? is that really being saved to you ? what did Christ save you from other than hell? THE DOMINION OF SIN OVER YOU!!SO LASTLY I SAY IN 2ND TIMOTHY- CHAPTER 2 v 19- nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart ( turn away, repent, forsake, look away, stop serving ) iniquity!!you use one verse from the jailer and use it to justify your easy believism , yet do you think that jailer went home and said " hey i'm saved! let's get drunk and hire some hookers, we're good to go now! " .. think of what you are saying .. and you are a stumbling block to Christians wanting to know the truth... and you will be held accountable

Most people don’t know what true repentance is. They are only sorry for the most part they got caught. Today’s teachings are worldly teachings. It’s too laid back. If you go along to get along, you are not a christian then. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot continue to practice sin and expect to enter heaven. Repentance is a definite requirement. If the teachings are popular, then chances are that there is little or no truth to it. I told my group of people in my connect group that I cannot get saved, baptized, etc. after having been raised in the church then make my living running a cat house and think I am going to heaven. No one knows who will enter heaven. You can make yourself believe you are going to heaven but I don’t believe you can sin your life away and expect to make heaven. The kind of fear most people have for god today is like a kid believing it’s worth getting punished or spanked to get to do what he wants to after having been forbidden to do so by the parents. There is then no fear of god at all. When people think they can sin their lives away and at the last minute try to accept god they may be in for an unpleasant surprise.

I lied in a testimony of how the Holy Spirit and GOD healed someone. I was called out on the lie and then I doubled down. I then got the same sickness as the person I lied about. then it occurred to me that I committed probably the worst sin. Im so very ashamed and confessed and asked for forgiveness. I am also very selfish and want to be healed from this sickness. what a mess Ive created, I know better and was raised better. but it didnt even occur to me at the time I was lying about GOD and the Holt Spirit. how do I repent for this? I only want GOD to know how ashamed I am and that Im so very sorry. and I pray HE will forgive me but if HE doesnt I will understand.

The parable of the sower explains who is a true believer....a true believer repents and allows the holy spirit to guide him into the righteousness of Christ. We must die to the old nature daily for we died in Christ therefore Christ lives in us....we must offer our living bodies as a living sacrifice to god where his Holy Spirit leads our daily lives onto the righteousness of Christ and when we sin Jesus our high priest is there to forgive us our sins but we must confess our sins to him to be forgiven....our Father chastises us when we refuse to repent from habitual sin...that's why there arw so many troubled christians out there who never die to self they refuse to die to self and live through the Holy Spirit....life becomes hard when we are in a state od sin.....paul said judge yourselves to see if you are in the faith. Many out there think they are saves but they never truly repented with a sincere heart....true repentence is the first step and is required to becomwe trult born again....many think they are saves but we don't see the New man come to life....if you are saves and Jesus is in our lives then there has to be a change of heart and mind and a new man is the outcome.

+Preston Greene repentence is a foundation doctrine in christianity....salvation requires justification through belief in Jesus Christ as son his death and ressurrection but once we are born again through baptism of the Holy Spirit which leads to sanctification a life set apart to God the father where we are his vessels used for the works of the Holy Spirit....many believe but they continue in the world with habitual sin and no repentence. salvation is a continual process from justification through Christ and Sanctification through the Holy Spirit through perserverance until the day of redemption....once saved always saved is a doctrine of demons this is why Jesus says the road to destruction is broad the road to heaven is narrow and few find it....if salvation comes as easy as just believing and not living a dedicated life to God then why do few find it?

    • @prestongreene7489
      @prestongreene7489 8 лет назад +1

      Samantha Soares friend,
I see you understand the gospel (1 cor 15:1-4) but don't add to it. repent, when it comes to salvation in the NT always means a "change of mind" - nothing else.
      - also see Jonah 3:10 in a KJV. God repented.
also, if you are saying one can lose their salvation, then you are saying Jesus did NOT die for ALL your sins. (Col 2:13-14 and Acts 13:39). So your faith is actually in yourself to be good enough.
      - Acts 13:39 - and by HIM, all the believe are justified from ALL things
      - believe means "to trust"
      - are you "trusting" in Jesus OR are you trusting in how "good" you think you are???? - honest question.
Salvation is NOT a process. it is an event. one gets sealed the moment they trust the gospel (Eph 1:13). also see John 5:24.
      - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but IS PASSED from death unto life
Why do few find it? because the narrow way is Christ ALONE. Jesus said I am the gate, BY ME if any man enter in....
      - very few find this. trying to enter in by any other gates....will not save (this includes the gates of works and works of the law)
      1. I have a paper on repent
      2. I have a paper on eternal security.

+Preston Greene go see the word believe in greek and its true meaning then you will understand what Jesus meant when he said believe....its true meaning requires action ....the action requires us allowing oursrlves to be led by the Holy spirit or else believing is just a state of mind...we are to believe in our minds and confess eith our mouths which is the action of believing

    • @prestongreene7489
      @prestongreene7489 8 лет назад

Samantha Soares believe in the greek is this.
"to trust to put confidence in"
you want to be more specific?
Chapter 3 in my book explains believe (you can have a FREE copy by the way)
      Chapter 3
What does it mean to “believe”?
The word “believe” has got to be one of the most misunderstood words of all time. It is probably second only to the word “repent”. What does it mean to believe in Jesus? This is what we will define in this brief chapter. How important is belief when it comes to salvation? Well, let’s look at some words from Jesus himself.
      • JESUS SAID - That whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but HAVE eternal life (John 3:15)
      • JESUS SAID - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but HAVE everlasting life (John 3:16)
      • JESUS SAID - He that BELIEVETH on him is NOT condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3:18)
      • JESUS SAID - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and BELIEVETH on him that sent me, HATH everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24)
      • JESUS SAID - Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye BELIEVE on him whom he hath sent. (John 6:29)
      • JESUS SAID - And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that BELIEVETH on me shall NEVER thirst (John 6:35)
      • JESUS SAID - And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and BELIEVETH on him, may HAVE everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day (John 6:40)
      • JESUS SAID - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that BELIEVETH on me HATH everlasting life (John 6:47)
      • JESUS SAID - He that BELIEVETH on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of LIVING water. (John 7:38)
      • JESUS SAID - Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that BELIEVETH in me, though he were dead, yet shall he LIVE: (John 11:25)
I really don’t think we need any more examples, do you? Believe is it. However, we’re back to the original question: what does it mean to believe? I asked myself this question once. I decided to go to Strong’s Concordance. This is the definition…
      Word: pisteuw
      1) to have faith in, to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in
      1a) of the thing believed
      1a1) to credit, have confidence
1b) in a moral or religious reference
      2) by implication, to commit or entrust, i.e. to entrust your spiritual well-being to Christ
2a) to make a commitment (to trust)
2b) to put in trust with or place confidence in
We can pretty much conclude that belief means “to trust, to put confidence in”. Now, go back and re-read those verses from Jesus. Substitute “believe” with “to trust, to put confidence in”.
The problem today is that most professing Christians are NOT trusting in Jesus for their salvation. They are trusting in everything BUT Jesus to go to heaven-things like works, law, sacraments, church attendance, tithing, etc. Their faith is NOT in Jesus.
Escaping eternal damnation rests solely on whom or what a person’s faith is in! MOST are putting their faith, their trust, and their confidence in THEMSELVES to be “good enough” to make it.
Hopefully, this is not you. Look at what Jesus said over and over again.
This is why I HATE religion! Have you believed (trusted) in Jesus and the gospel yet? Are you truly putting your faith in Jesus ALONE to save you?
      with respect,

If you’re trying to be saved or stay saved, you’re probably not saved, nor do you have the assurance of eternal life that the true gospel gives to all who believe it.
The narrow path is the path of grace and faith for all who have received God’s unspeakable gift. A gift is free and without prerequisites, or it’s not a gift. How hard is it to receive a gift?
One of the worst doctrines of the devil is to redefine ”repentance” as a turning from sin, which immediately negates the gift by requiring you to do something (works) to be saved. Repentance doesn’t mean a turning from sin. “Metanoia” is the Greek word translated as “Repentance” and it means a change of mind:
    Meta=Change; Noia=Mind
    STRONGS NT 3341: μετάνοια
μετάνοια, μετανοίας, ἡ (μετανοέω), a change of mind:
When you believe the gospel and trust Jesus Christ as your Savior, you have repented, and you have eternal life, now and forever. You should know you have eternal life, now.
1Jn 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
It’s so important to get the gospel right. Paul threatened damnation twice (Gal 1:8-9) to anyone/thing who tried to add works to the gospel of grace he received from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Rom 4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
If you try to add your works to be saved or to prove you’re saved, you negate God’s grace and you go to hell. God will not be a debtor to any man, we can receive salvation as a free gift or not at all.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
The Apostle Paul received the gospel directly from Jesus Christ and not from any man per Gal 1:12.
Gal 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
The gospel Paul received directly from the Lord Jesus Christ is found in 1 Cor 15:1-4.
    1Co15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
1Co 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
The moment someone believes the gospel personally, that Jesus Christ died on the cross for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, has received the gift of eternal life. The moment you believe, you’re eternally sealed with the Holy Spirit, and are born again from above.
When you trust Jesus Christ as your Savior you can’t go to hell because the penalty for all your sins (past, present, & future) have already been paid for by Him. And only Jesus Christ kept the 10 Commandments and He imputes His righteousness, the righteousness of God, to your account the moment you believe the gospel and trust Him as Savior. You may not feel like it but you become as holy and righteous as Jesus Christ, and you’re eternally qualified for Heaven. You’re saved from hell and guaranteed Heaven when you die or are raptured because you believe the gospel and trust Jesus Christ as your Savior.
The Lord Jesus Christ resurrected victorious over sin, death, the devil, and hell. Every time someone believes the gospel, the devil and hell are plundered.
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
    Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Heb 2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

    He is confused...
Repent and believe IS NOT THE SAME AS as repenting from sin...people got to hell because they do not believe in Jesus, who paid for their sins...
He seems to be confusing two things:
Salvation requires you repent and believe (you turn from disbelief about the fact that you are a sinner deserving hell and need the grace of JESUS by his finished work-life, death and resurrection for eternal life)
ONLY AFTER YOU ARE SAVED: Repent from Sin, which is what Paul is addressing when he addresses the Corinthians...
    Unbelievers: Repent and Believe
Believers: Repent from Sin (to walk worthily and avoid chastisement only--you can't lose your salvation)
PAUL ALSO SAID, The things that I will to do those things I do not, the things that I will not to do, those things I do...
You are saved by GRACE from you sins not by keeping the law...it's a shame he hasn't rightly divided.
You are a son of GOD the instant you believe the Gospel, as Ephesians 1:12...
Paul saying cast away is about being of non-effect if he preached a false gospel not by the spirit, it is not talking about losing salvation...
In Romans, it is talking about people who refuse to BELIEVE the gospel unto salvation, so God gives them over....
This guy is not rightly dividing...
Running to the Greek...you can be confused and preach a false gospel as a Christian, but you cannot lose your salvation, just like the foolish Galatians.

And another thing you can be sure of and that is, ( unless) the Holy Ghost anoints your believer it will not work. There are many who believe but that will not save them. There are many who believe in the fact that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, but that will not save you. There are many who believe that the bible is the word of God, but that will not save you. There are many believers who are still lost according to James 2:19&20 . just because one comes to the point that they have become believers will not save them. So, what ( must) one do to inherit eternal life? Belief in what the scriptures declare will not save . believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God will not save, so what will?

    • @bible4truth
      @bible4truth 9 лет назад +1

The gospel is clear. You are saved by believing on Jesus Christ, who died on the cross, was buried and rose from the grave the 3rd day physically to save you from your sins. THAT is IT. It is a GIFT.
James is talking to believers. It is not talking about losing salvation, but not having respect of persons within the Church. It is saying your faith is dead to other men, if you do not demonstrate your love. It is not teaching losing salvation.
Read the beginning of James 2.
      Just believer the gospel.
GIFT, GRACE, FREE, NOT OF WORKS, NOT BY THE LAW, NOT OF YOURSELF, To him that worketh NOT. How many ways does God have to tell you that John 3:16 is true. He even writes to the foolish Galatians who got confused and started thinking they needed to work to maintain salvation.
It is the people who try to do works that Jesus says, I NEVER KNEW YOU...they are workers of iniquity (which means they never truly believed in GRACE, GIFT, FREE, etc. They were still under the law because they rejected GRACE ALONE. Study it out.

bible4truth I don't think repentance is a works theology, repentance is part of salvation. Christians do good works, not because they must but because they are filled with the Holy Spirit and want to please God. Salvation is by grace, not of works, but working for the Lord comes after salvation. We are not to bury our "treasure" in the ground.

      Here is the deception.
A person can be saved and live a life full of sin in the flesh to the point where they get chastised unto "sleep"...No one could tell they were saved, but they are saved.
Another persons, could say they believe completely on Jesus, but think they need to show it by doing good works, because they think that works are proof of salvation and if you don't have good works, you are not saved.
the 2nd persons, really didn't believe. The proof is the fact that they made salvation dependent on their performance, which they claim if by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus says, we are born again. That is the spirit and a new glorified body. The flesh profits NOTHING.
So, you can have a horrible, wicked acting Christian and a self-righteous persons who claimed to believe, but is only doing good because they believe in their heart, if they don't do good works they are not saved. It is subtle...But satan is subtle and a very good liar. He hates it when people truly have rest in Christ and obey because they understand the word: GRACE and FREE GIFT.

Repent, then and turn to God so that he will forgive your sins(Acts 3:19).....So watch what you do! If your brother sins rebuke him, and if he repents, for give him.(Luke 17:3). Repent, then turn to God so that he will forgive your sins (Acts 3: 19). Repent then, of this evil plan of yours and pray to the Lord that he will forgive you for thinking such a thing as yours (Acts 8:22). Peter said to them each one of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins will be forgiven: and you will receive God's gift of the holy spirit.(Acts 2:38). You will never succeed in life if you try to hide your sins confess them and give them up: then God will show mercy to you (Proverbs 28:13). I told you my sins and I am sorry for them (Psalm 38:18).

The Generation with the Face of a Dog
"With the advent of the footsteps of Mashiach, insolence will increase and prices will soar; the vine will yield its fruit, yet wine will be dear; the government will turn to heresy and no one will rebuke them; the meeting place of scholars will be used for immorality; Galilee will be destroyed, Gavlan will be desolate, and those who dwell on the borders will wander about begging from town to town without being pitied; the wisdom of the scholars will degenerate, those who fear sin will be despised, and the truth will be lacking; youths will put old men to shame, elders will rise in deference to the young, a son will revile his father, a daughter will rise up against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, and a man's enemies will be the members of his household; the face of the generation will be like the face of a dog; a son will not feel ashamed before his father.
So upon whom can we rely? -- Upon our Father Who is in heaven." [Sotah 9:15]

Shamayah David - IF you choose to believe *the Jewish Mishnah of Sotah* that is your choice - for "the Lord God Almighty" NEVER forces anyone to believe that which is written in the 66 Books of "the law of God" ~ as they are Divinely preserved ONLY in the Holy Bible [AV]
My personal choice "through faith" as a Biblically "born again" believer - and follower - and willing "ambassador in bonds" of *"the only begotten Son of God" ~ "the Word" ~ "the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ"* who Divinely inspired "the certainty of the words of truth" to be written in Proverbs 22:71-21 [AV] :
      *Bow down thine ear,*
*and hear the words of the wise,*
*and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.*
*For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips.*
*That thy trust may be in the LORD,*
*I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.*
*Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge,*
*That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth;*
*that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?*

    • @randyd9805

Actually, that is EXACTLY what salvation is, believing certain things about Christ. The very instant you truly believe them in your heart and really rely on Christ alone for salvation you get saved. It's sad that so many don't understand this simple truth that Jesus himself stated so clearly in John chapter 3 and other places.

Who ever said that repentance is part of the Gospel? My friend, REPENTANCE IS NOT PART OF THE GOSPEL, otherwise the apostle Paul would have included it in 1st Corinthians 15:1-6. Repentance is why we believe the Gospel, but it is not part of the Good News. Is it “Good News” that you and I are big sinners? I think not! The Good News (i.e., Gospel) is that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins, and was buried, but triumphantly arose so that He can save those who believe. How could Christ save us if He were dead and hadn't risen? How could He become our heavenly High Priest if He hadn't risen? Amen! We serve a risen Christ!!!
I don't know anyone who teaches easy-believism who doesn't believe in repentance. It's just that we view repentance as a person seeing their sinnership and need to be saved. Whereas Dr. Lawson sees repentance as a drastic change of attitude that will produce a changed life.

He is a great preacher but I would not want him to counsel me. He tells a bunch of people in his congregation who he counsels and tells them about the content of the session. Very bad when you counsel someone. It is supposed to be confidential. SHAME ON YOU PASTOR LAWSON!!!!

I loved this video and was going to share it until I saw Pastor Lawson go into the Greek. We speak English here and God said in English what he meant to say in English. Cast away means cast away. This is the problem with preachers drifting off into the Greek and thinking they need to use it to help God out with English! I cannot in good conscience share this video now.

That makes no sense. If you are saying that God used Greek (which he did), then it is also true that God moved away from the Greek. Both must be true. And if God moved away from the Greek...then we should follow him and move away from the Greek also. God knows perfect English and gave us his perfectly preserved word in English. There is absolutely no need to go to the Greek. NONE
That's not straining at a gnat. That's called being wise and following where God leads.

So you are following this man instead of God. God has lead us all away from the Greek, but you want to follow this man?! Then go ahead and follow him on everything if you want. He preaches some good stuff and I like many of his videos on youtube, but I won't follow him where he departs from the Lord. God saw no need for man to continue in the Greek...and nether do I. I have all I need to know in the English KJV. It is perfect and without error. It is God's preserved word for English speaking people.
Yes, we clearly have a different definition of the word "wise".

You need to calm down and stop with the false accusations. I never said God hasn't or doesn't use different languages. And I agree that Pastor Lawson has some very good messages. BUT...he is not God and he is not perfect. When he does something that is not beneficial to the body of Christ...I may point it out. You can agree with me or not...but you don't have to get completely riled up about it. I do not believe God gave us an inferior Bible in the KJV. I do not believe the KJV is in any way inferior to Greek or Hebrew Scriptures. So you think God didn't move away from the Greek and Hebrew? Really? Just how many countries in the world today have common people living in them that speak Greek or Hebrew? And how many have common people who can speak English? The facts don't side with you. We do NOT worship a language. We worship God. And God gave us his perfectly preserved word in English. We have God's own stamp of approval on that in Ecclesiastes 8:4 and Proverbs 21:1.
Pastor Lawson has also preached in support of the Gap theory. I consider the gap theory to be seriously wrong and misguided (as do MANY Christians). The Gap theory contradicts God's word. Does that make Pastor Lawson a bad or evil preacher? Of course not. It does make him completely wrong on that topic though (in my opinion and in the opinion of many Christians).
There are lots of good preachers out there and I will not pretend to know how much time they spend in prayer (neither should you). You should be careful not to put Pastor Lawson up on a pedestal. None of us should be placed on a pedestal.
And yes...I have preached. I speak to answer you...not to brag. I have street preached, preached to poor and homeless folks, and often shared biblical messages at church. I have a Masters Degree in Education and have been a Principal and COO of s small private Christian school where I shared God's word regularly to my staff, the students, and parents.
I respect Pastor Lawson, but I disagree with him on some things. It's that simple. You shouldn't get irate over that. You should check into the things I have said. But that's your choice. As for me...I will NOT put a Pastor on a pedestal. I will compare what he says to God's word. Take Care.
