I purchased a 5.3L this afternoon and found your channel. Absolutely blown away at the knowledge and care shown in your videos. Great job brother!
Love this comment!!!! Thanks for the feedback and have a blast with your project!!!! Mike
@@UCanDoIt2Mike Will do! Plans are to throw it in a Jeep so we are on a similar path. Jeep on!
Sweet! I am trying to carve out more time towards my project. Work and busy personal life had me side tracked for a while. Have fun!!!! Mike
Another great video (as always) Mike ! That 5.3 liter Chevy over your shoulder looks amazing ! I can hardly wait to see/hear you start that bad boy up !
Everyday is a step closer! Appreciate the comment... Mike
Great work Mike, nice to see the drive train going into another Jeep for sure. Looking forward to seeing more progress on Rowdy!
Thank you Russell!
Glad to see Rowdy progressing. Looking forward to the next step in the project and really enjoy how you approach each one. Keep up the great work you and your son's are doing.
Thank you Richard for the feedback and support. The boys are enjoying turning some wrenches!!! Cheers!!!
Been great progress but certainly takes time. Been following since you rebuilt the AX-15. Looking forward to future work!
We are trying to carve out some time to do some work this week. Thanks for your interest. Cheers! Mike.
That went pretty smoothly. Glad you found the the drivetrain a new home.
Thanks Stan. Loading up of old engine this morning and sending it to it's next adventure!!!
Awesome video. I ran into some of the same issues, including the transmission crossmember bolts being stuck in place. Thank you very much
Whenever I could I work myself in my jeep...it gives you a huge satisfaction...
They are a blast to work on.... whether you are fixing or modifying something.
just found your channel,love it
wade rigsbee Welcome aboard. Just have in a little fun here and there. Thanks for taking the time to chime in. Mike
really does not matter witch way you did it the job got done thats what counts good progress
Nicely done buddy. The new engine is going to be a lot of fun. Cheers 👍
Cheers my Canadian friend! We are still having fun down here. Cheers to you! Mike
Just bought a ‘99 LM7 and have my reworked harness from your videos ready to go. I’m awaiting your video on how you run the OBD2 plug. Like if you reuse the original or wire a new one. I bought a Bluetooth OBD2 scanner that links to my phone so I can have live monitoring until I can afford a standalone system. Looking forward to more progress!
Sweet! Did you download my free diagram that I put together for the new Fuse Block and such. Page 3 has the details for the OBD2 port. I am doing bodywork on the Jeep that my engine will be going in, so it will be a little while before I show the details of the OBD2 port connection. It should be pretty straight forward from the diagram. Cheers! Mike
UCanDoIt2 I have indeed downloaded and printed them out! I just didn’t know if there was anymore to it. I’m actually buying a whole donor Silverado. Could I cut that OBD2 plug off a little further up the harness and splice my reworked harness into it? That’s where my confusion lies. And with hooking the OBD2 plug up, I should be able to plug my Bluetooth reader in and get all my live data, correct? The oil pressure gauge and engine temp wire would be if I wanted that reflected on a gauge inside the vehicle? Which my mobile device with the corresponding app would substitute? All in all, I’m just concerned about getting all my ducks in a row. If I can just hook up that OBD2 port and call it a day, I’m gonna do that. I won’t worry about the other wires. I’ll still make the 8 pin connector and all that, but I’m gonna nix the excess gauge wires, roll them up and get them out of the way. Thanks for the response!
Yes, you can use the OBD2 connector from the donor truck. As the diagram illustrates you just need 4 wires connected to it and two of those wire (pins) are Ground Wires. Your Bluetooth reader should be able to get data off the PCM as you are looking for. Rolling up the remaining wires a great idea. You may someday want to incorporate some of those. Cheers!
UCanDoIt2 thanks for all the help my friend! If you had stickers, I’d totally buy some for all your help and knowledge. You make it easy my friend!
I would love to provide you Free stickers! Send me your contact Info to: Ucandoit2mike@gmail.com
Hey man! Great videos.... slowly but surely the Jeep is coming along..... this thing is gonna be awesome... thank god it doesn’t have 40” tires, fancy pants wheels, some over the knuckle steering for the malls...... can’t wait to see what this will do. Once those fenders and good is off, there’s lots of room for all sorts of stuff!
Looking great Mike! Sorry to hear about the skid plate captive nuts... I think they are also called rivnuts. I’m anxious to see how you solve that one! Keep up all the great work, I’ve reviewed your LS wiring and rebuild series(s) multiple times. Thanks for the help.
Excellent videos
SESNC I appreciate the feedback and glad that you recently found the channel. Cheers to you Sir!!!!
When are you going to upload the new video? We waiting for you, the best videos on RUclips!!

Best videos ever.
Thank you Michael! Cheers Mike!
Been following along for a while still not finished with my lm7 swap in the Jeep that is my profile picture but I’m getting close
william cordle yeah.... it looks like you are the same timeline as I am. Snail Time. Keep at it!!!!
Yeah full time long haul truck driver doesn’t leave much Jeep rebuilding time when you toss life in the mix
I'm worried, is everything okay Mike? Have been missing you and your son's. Just hoping everything is ok with you and your family. Just a concerned fan.
Hey, Keep up the videos, there fun to watch.
You know this really makes me smile! We are having a lot of fun as well! Cheers and thanks for watching.
Thanks Mike!
Looking good I'm looking forward to your videos to come.
im really excited to see this 5.3 in the jeep!! anyone know if hes going to finish this project??
You make it look so easy! I'm super excited to see this build, really enjoying every step along the way. Did you pull the motor yourself at the junkyard or did they pull it for you? I'm getting to the point in my project I need to go pull an engine, but I'm unsure if I can do it by myself.
It only looked easy, cause I edited out all of the moaning and groaning! Cheers!
Very nice 👌 can't wait for that swap
Yes Sir!!!! We are now just one step closer!!!!! Mike
Is it in yet? (Thats what she said.)
Anyways, any update on this? Did you get burnt out on the project?, or get fed up on filming and just installed it? I'd love to get some closure with how your drivetrain worked out, and exhaust. Give us an update on the CJ!
Still working on it. Currently uploading the next video... which is set to publish at 9AM tomorrow. Hang in there with me!!!! Mike
I enjoy your videos! Very organized and precise. Keep em coming! What was the total cost you have in your LS after the machine shop, mild cam, pulley reconfigurations, water pump, and master rebuild kit? Thanks!
I really appreciate the feedback. Always nice to hear that others are enjoying the content. Here is a link to the details of the engine build.

Hello! I recently subscribed and this seems to be the last video I can find on the Jeep ls build. Wondering if you have any updates
My day job is working me to death. The next video is half taken and produced. Just need to finish the task then publish. Thank you for following along.... Mike!
UCanDoIt2 I’m glade to see its work keeping you. I was starting to worry you might have gotten sick or had an accident keeping you away
You didn’t post a video of the LS in it and show it running we would like to see that
The engine has not been installed yet. Still working on the body. About to take the Tub off the frame and work on the frame and suspension components. Cheers!
hey man loving the build but where ya been?
Just Wondering. what transfer case u going with?
Dana 300. These CJs have the front differential pumpkin on the passenger side. The Dana 300 offers the front drive shaft on the passenger side. I already have sourced one and plan to rebuild it before the install.
How is rowdy coming along?
It is blistering hot in the shop right now making it hard to work especially with welding and grinding on the activities. Cheers!
