If I still had my old '84 CJ-7, I would have paid you to help with the restoration. Talk about talent and skill. I think I speak for everyone here, Well done young man!
I absolutely love this. I love to see you young guys in here in the garage working together. This is absolutely golden. This is a prime example of what other young people should be doing. Off the devices, off the nonsense, just learning and growing. Beautiful Jeep you guys are going places!
I would only have done 2 things differently, this is not a rub against you guys!!! You did awesome. I would use that engine, but with a cam for low end torque, and I would have had the frame hot dipped galvanized instead of powder coated. This is an AWESOME JEEP!!
Damn nice Jeep, it’s cool that your dad is teaching what I think is the best hobby ever,,, restoring cars in the garage and talking about chics, and drinking when the camera is not recording.
My FIRST "car" ... JEEP ! I had a 1985 CJ-7...man this takes me back. I had that thing for almost 5 years.. worked on it quite a bit. Never had to touch that 258 straight 6 though. This video takes me back. NICE WORK Boys...also it is AWESOME to see young guys in the garage. No F'in Play-station in sight !
I know I'm a little late for the party, but what a beautiful Jeep and great build! These types of videos provide inspiration for what I might like to someday do with my '98 TJ project. For now, I'm just going to focus on getting it safe for everyday road use. Texas is also by far one of the best and friendliest states I've ever visited!! Cheers from Canada!!
Gotta remember that alot of parents these days buy into the mentality of kicking your kids out at 18, they're gunna be salty to see the family unit working.
you did a real nice job...something to be proud of...it was nice watching the jeep getting built..its always nice to see young people get involved with a project like you did....hope you have a great time wheeling it...
Very nice work!...in honor of my best friend who just happened to be my dad, I am building a jeep to..the CJ8 has always been my favorite but I am just a peasant and cannot afford one..but I was able to buy an 82 wagoneer that sat up for about ten years..got the 360 running and made plans to make it into a scrambler..I cut off the roof and windshield frame and removed all the body panels including the hood and grille..I cut off about 4 inches of the outside of the body leaving me with a straight line to build flat sides out of aluminum panels..I have a lot of work to do and for now I have to wait until I get a job before I can have any extra money to put into my project..but I wake up during the night fabricating the windshield frame, hood, grille..I got it all planned out, and will put it into action as soon as possible..I was thinking of a marine paint by Rustoleum called Battleship Gray..hope it looks as good as yours..and those look like the seats I want..need a backseat to for my dogs to.
Well Done! I have often thought of trying a resto but, I get lazy and worry I will not finish it. It was neat to see friend’s become involved in the lifting heavy things department. The year model CJ also gives the option to excellent powertrain choices. Going with 33’s coupled with the Generals makes wonderful eye candy including good street manners and off-road performance.
Fabulous job guys! We are restoring a cj7 too and your videos are being a very good guide for us! Very well explained and developed, step by step, Congratulation guys!
HELL YEAH FELLAS! Just bought 79 CJ7. It needs a lot more work than that one haha. Rebuilt the carburetor (my first time i was a little worried), replaced the gas tank and hoses, fuel pump...smaller stuff. And of course it didńt crank. I got down on myself thinking ¨damn that was dumb to rebuild that carb¨. Come to find out, pinched a line mounting the gas tank back on. My carburetor work turned out ok! Íll send you guys some pics of it. Maybe we could do a collaboration on it haha. Or maybe yáll can give me some pointers. Great video for sure! Btw...not sure why my keyboard is in Spanish...more of a nuts and bolts kinda guy.
Just came across your channel. Amazing work man! This is exactly how i'd build one. I like how you didn't cut corners and did a quality job while still making it a very accessible build that isn't into the near 6 figures like many people end up doing.
You probably know this but fuel injection is prefered for off road as it keeps the fuel to the engine during extreme angles. Also side steps is just something to hang up on off road. Lots of good work there, nice job!
WOW. That's a really good job. I'm looking at doing something a little more extreme with my jku, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the lack of "specialty" tools that you needed to get this entire job done. The CJ looks amazing, ya'll did a great job. Congrats!
Nice job, I’ll be starting a complete restore this year of a 78 CJ-7 w/ 304 V8 for my 12 year old son.. I hope to have it ready for his 16th.. I like the color you picked.
Very impressive to see the younger generation doing something positive with their time. These skills are only learned with hands on experience. AWESOME job fellas.
Good video and i really like the restoration! The custom touches that were HAND built by the crew, dig the colors, and don't be ashamed of your race seats/harnesses...safety is sexy. Thank you and jeep at it
Very good job on the body and chassis in general...and excellent choice of final paint color! Personally, I have a big affinity for the 4.0-liter HO I-6 engines...and would have 'salvage yarded' a full engine, 5-speed, transfer from an old YJ and simply did a quick 'bearing/oil pump/cam' refresh...I'm just not a big v-8 fan for Jeeps (yeah, I know, AMC had the 304...but still)... Take care of it...should last a lifetime, if maintained. As you 'get older', you'll probably want the hardtop...and never forget, you can add 'aftermarket air' for about $1k...and that 350 will definitely drive a compressor!
Very impressive! You guys look like you're still in high school and it is amazing that you have such talent and vision at your age - total respect. Agree with your choice of color - looks great. Be safe and keep up the videos.
Hey to them haters... these boys are BUILDING A JEEP... how many teens do you know that can do that... this is talent at that age... besides... a 350 ?? That is a 1000 lb frame... gonna fly
Great vid. There really does not seem much difference between a 71 cj6 and this beast...lots of hard work. you should be very happy stoked and proud... Well done
When I bought my JK in 2013, they had just come out with that color, but only on the 10th Anniversary Rubicon editions. I wanted it so damn bad on my Sport, but couldn't :'(
It's good to see young guys interested and capable in mechanical things. Your parents should be proud. Nice job also!
I felt proud of them, and they're not even my children!!
I mean there aren’t as many now but i know of 2 or 3 including me in my school
InstaBlaster...
well im 13 and im very interessed in car engines especially if are good reliable or leggendary engines
That CJ is now ready for the Florida Everglades! Restoration? That is a brand new Jeep! Congratulations and enjoy it!
If I still had my old '84 CJ-7, I would have paid you to help with the restoration. Talk about talent and skill. I think I speak for everyone here, Well done young man!
This guy gets it. Plain and simple.
I absolutely love this. I love to see you young guys in here in the garage working together. This is absolutely golden. This is a prime example of what other young people should be doing. Off the devices, off the nonsense, just learning and growing. Beautiful Jeep you guys are going places!
Imagine if more kids were like these guys.
right??!! very impressed
Wow! In restoring the jeep you also restored my faith in your generation lol. Nice work guys 👍🏼
Looks great! Awesome job.
What size lift?
Great
BenDover
I wonder what he thinks of your generation?
Bro how much you spend in it
This is so cool!! I just built a 94’ wrangler! The guy we got it from had already changed the engine to a ford V8!!
I would only have done 2 things differently, this is not a rub against you guys!!! You did awesome. I would use that engine, but with a cam for low end torque, and I would have had the frame hot dipped galvanized instead of powder coated.
This is an AWESOME JEEP!!
That CJ is beautiful! Awesome work! I’m so impressed with the level of skills you guys have!
Damn nice Jeep, it’s cool that your dad is teaching what I think is the best hobby ever,,, restoring cars in the garage and talking about chics, and drinking when the camera is not recording.
it's nice when you have a couple of friends or family to help you out.
My FIRST "car" ... JEEP ! I had a 1985 CJ-7...man this takes me back. I had that thing for almost 5 years.. worked on it quite a bit. Never had to touch that 258 straight 6 though. Proud owner of 2 jeeps myself. Beautiful work guys.

Haters out because dad foot the bill. Like you wouldn’t give your kid everything you worked for. Don’t take out your failures on these dudes.
Gotta remember that alot of parents these days buy into the mentality of kicking your kids out at 18, they're gunna be salty to see the family unit working.
I can only hope that my two boys grow up and want to restore a Jeep with me.
Matthew Maclauchlan exactly he could be giving this kid thousands to blow on Gucci and stupid stuff instead he’s learning valuable skills and bonding
Amen.
joshua hand agrees these kids are beasts. I have a BA but wish I could do half of this stuff.
you did a real nice job...something to be proud of...it was nice watching the jeep getting built..its always nice to see young people get involved with a project like you did....hope you have a great time wheeling it...
Beautiful piece of art brother. I’ve been doing an 84 CJ7 myself and it’s a lime green with a 350 Chevy, turbo 400, and 44 inch tsl boggers
Don Saxon That’s badass man, good luck with the build.
Its nice to see the kids working with dad. I have an 80 cj5, always wanted a 7 tho.
Perfectly beautiful. I absolutely love everything about the jeep.
I love my TJ. Wouldnt want anything later than that.... HOWEVER the one thing I loooove about the JK and JLs is the Anvil color. Great choice!
Most amazing jeep restoration I will be doing my CJ restoration great job guys this vedio is best on RUclips it has all the detailing
Just awesome Guys !!!! ..... Young People showing their Skills. Well done and keep on doing such impressive Projects!
That Jeep is almost too nice to wheel....AWESOME JOB!!!!!!
Fabulous job guys! We are restoring a cj7 too and your videos are being a very good guide for us! Very well explained and developed, step by step, Congratulation guys!

Nice rebuild guys, just starting to restore my 2001 TJ
Dang! Good stuff!
Thanks for sharing. You did a nice job of choosing footage and summarizing the work. I look forward to watching some of the specifics.
Built to last with the rust protection. Great job.

The straight six engine is amazing!
Just came across your channel. Amazing work man! This is exactly how i'd build one. I like how you didn't cut corners and did a quality job while still making it a very accessible build that isn't into the near 6 figures like many people end up doing.
Can't wait to build my own CJ-7 someday
great father / son project... what an experience! A lot of work.
That’s in rough shape 😹. I pulled my 73 cj5 out of the woods. The tub fell of it no fire wrench needed. Good video
You probably know this but fuel injection is prefered for off road as it keeps the fuel to the engine during extreme angles. Also side steps is just something to hang up on off road.

Makes me miss my CJ-7.
Nice job.
young guys did this=better than driving around and jumping old people or destroying private property...kudos to y'all
Way to go guys...…..Mucho faith in this generation now.
Fantastic job
All your dedication and hard work paid off
This is an awesome build! Even better that you did it with your Dad and friends.
Nice job, I’ll be starting a complete restore this year of a 78 CJ-7 w/ 304 V8 for my 12 year old son.. I hope to have it ready for his 16th..
I like the color you picked.
So cool to see you young men doing this. Happy for you
Awesome looking Jeep and great video. You and your buddies did a great job, it's nice to see young guys getting into this stuff. I've now subscribed.
Very impressive to see the younger generation doing something positive with their time. These skills are only learned with hands on experience. AWESOME job fellas.
I will Congratulate to all your Team members who they done this beautiful work. Really nice work.. Thumbs up
Good video and i really like the restoration! The custom touches that were HAND built by the crew, dig the colors, and don't be ashamed of your race seats/harnesses...safety is sexy. Thank you and jeep at it
oh hell yeah, you got the shelby and a jeep, badass restoration yall know how to do it, this goes in the manly things playlist!
Very good job on the body and chassis in general...and excellent choice of final paint color! I have an 83 CJ7 in bad shape from being at the ranch for years, what was the price on the rebuild you did on yours?
Sick, I definitely agree anvil is prob the best color Jeep has come out with. Nice job

Hey to them haters... these boys are BUILDING A JEEP... how many teens do you know that can do that... this is talent at that age... besides... a 350 ?? That is a 1000 lb frame... gonna fly
Nice job! You’re inspiring me to rebuild my 82 Toyota Pickup.

Awesome Jeep my man!
I love the anvil color!! That’s what I got my yj painted in
When I bought my JK in 2013, they had just come out with that color, but only on the 10th Anniversary Rubicon editions. I wanted it so damn bad on my Sport, but couldn't :'(
Those straight 6's from AMC were dope and plenty for these jeeps. Nice work though.
this was one of the best restoration i have ever seen so far...awesome broo..keep it up...
Nice rebuild. Reminds me of my youth and rebuilding Jeeps. Love the anvil color
WOW!!! Well feckin' done! AMAZING
You called a jeep a car!! That's a felony. Don't let it happen again. 😉
BTW.. Beautiful job!
Good learning skill from professionals i love your show
The CJ7 had a small block V8 option from the factory so the 350 was a guaranteed fit.
correct, it was a 304 if I remember correctly.
@@yellowjacket548 Yes but I was talking about the 350 in this video. The AMC 304 is a good engine.
Really nice restoration. Y'all put in some serious effort on this build.
Scott
Very good work young man. Keep up the good work brother
looks awesome. just got myself a 1980 cj7. just need to get it running good
