I just had my neighbor give me a 2004 tj that runs great just has some rust issues. The rust isn’t nearly as extensive as what you guy dealt with but it there. I couldn’t pass on a free jeep with a 4.0 that runs that good. Great job on your project, looks really good.
hey odd this popped up in my feeds I started a rebuild of a 2005 RHD just about 5 weeks ago. Southern jeep used as a mail jeep so it was in really bad shape but zero rust Im doing a full rebuild though. right now im down to the frame and building up from there not a single bolt touching another piece of metal! just this past weekend got the frame etch primed and painted black new 4.7L stroker and new trans as well. Always good to see a heep reform into a great old jeep. Doing white bed liner inside and undercoating I want it to otherwise be pretty much original well with new 2" springs for a little lift with the heavy duty controls arms. great job guys!
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. We just started a build on an old 70s truck. We try to see what’s possible with rusted out vehicles that would otherwise be junked. If we found a rust free southern project we would restore it ground up too. Good luck and keep wrenching.
@@StevesGarage26 plenty down here you should ride down and grab one with high miles on the cheap . A jeep that would be literally gone if it was up north might have a little light surface rust on the frame the body will be clean as new snow. y'all would be amazed at how good they are.
I have 2 TJs sitting in my yard that one for parts and the other actually ran and drove 5 years ago when I parked it back there... I bought it new in 02... I swore I would never sell them and ive wanted to restore my 02 for a while.. just need to do it!
Beautiful job--one question? The stenciling on the Jeep. Are those decals or did you stencil the lettering in paint. I am assuming painted stencils since decals would not likely stick to raptor liner. Fabulous job.
Really well. In fact it has been two years and last night we were looking it over and commented on how the Color hasn’t even faded. I do however recommend first coating areas that were repaired like welded patch panels or rust repaired areas with POR15 or Tremclad rust paint first. We have two small spots that have bleeding through that I need to repair. Had I first sealed them with a rust paint we wouldn’t have to fix them now. Otherwise the stuff is tough and resists scratches etc well.
Please, I need to know which controller that winch uses. Smittybilt will not get back with me and I can't determine what generation mine is. It looks identical to this one.
How was the frame on that TJ? My son’s 97 TJ frame cracked and we did a full restoration on it. New (used but flawless) frame from Arizona, lots of frame sealing and prep work to ensure it doesn’t happen to this one, a lift kit, repairs, brakes, and later larger tires, rims, bumpers, etc. $$$ but worth the experience.
Great video! I’m a newbie keep owner, just bought a rust free 99 TJ. My interior is bare bones so I’ll also be lining it. I noticed you have a locking center console! Is that OEM for that year? I’d like to get one, I’f they make them. I know parts and accessories are plentiful for TJs but I’m still learning where to get good quality not Amazon quality? Thank!
What if you could find a 2003 TJ with a perfect interior, good frame, no rust and you only had to replace the bouncy things and the steering things. What would you pay? Spoiler alert, i bought it. 4WD place is charging $4500 to replace everything underneath. Would you do it?
4 bottles in black and 4 in blue. I’d probably use 6 Blue next time as we we’re afraid of running out. That’s why we shot the product closer than suggested to avoid wasted overspray. If you use 6 you will have plenty and can back up away from the Jeep a bit more.
Man loved the videos and appreciate your hard work , what psi did you use I love the texture, I’m days away from doing my 97 im going commando green , I do love that blue what is it called if you don’t mind me asking? God bless you and your family. Looking forward to seeing what you have next
Great father/son project! If it's worth doing, it's worth doing it right! Congratulations
I had my doubts on that blue, but really came out great!
I just bought an ‘88 YJ and I’ve been binging your videos. Gives me inspiration to tackle a restoration. Great work and cheers!
Thanks for all the support! Best of luck with your YJ! :)
That looks awesome! I had a TJ a few years back, loved it! I have a gladiator now but it doesn’t have that same feeling.
Love seeing the Jeep TJ come back to life!!! Awesome!
The Raptor liner just added another 40 years to this Wrangler.
Excelente trabajo!!!!! 👍 Saludos desde 🇲🇽

I bought a new 04 Rubicon in late 04 or early 05 cant remember. Its crazy seeing vehicles that I remember as new needing full restorations.
That is nice. I LOVE that blue. I will start on an LJ next year and look for ideas.
led hyperflashing in your turning light..u can fix it with resistors connected on it..one by side and all your led ll work)

@@davidgore5719 They actually are vinyl letters. Just use a heat gun and they form to the raptor liner.
B>RUTALLL brO amazing work the Raptor its really beauty.
The raptor liner has always intrigued me, is it pain to wash?
How has the paint/coating held up with usage? Any chips or dulling? Would you use it again?

Nice job. What did you use to paint the wheels??
Please, I need to know which controller that winch uses. Smittybilt will not get back with me and I can't determine what generation mine is. It looks identical to this one.
nice job 👏
There are lots of better jeeps out there, but thanks for saving this one.

Frame is great. No issues. Just had surface rust. Was treated, drain holes drilled and painted for future protection.
Lol I use 6 coats of clear coat. I like the lights 😂
What paint system is it that you used on this build?
Raptor Liner

how much bottle of raptor liner did you use for the whole jeep
