This is a little thing, but I love how you put *10* w-30 in it. I did a bunch of research on oils a few years ago and came to the conclusion that nowhere but the Midwest needs 5w, and nowhere in the lower 48 needs 0w. Generally, the closer the two numbers the less likely the oil is to evaporate under use (I think this is called NOACK?) so 10w30 is great for anywhere mild or warm in climate, and if you have an extreme use 10w40 or whatever weight that racing forums recommend is generally what you should go for. My ranger was about a quart low one day (thank god the light went off, quite UNlike my Scion tC before it) and I had 10W30 in it, so I walked to the corner store and said to myself "whelp, I don't wanna under-protect it after getting low, so I'm gonna thicken what I've got" and since they didn't have anything 10w, I put a quart of 15w-50 in there. FYI you do not need the panhard bar on leaf springs, all it does is cause your leaf spring bushings to wear out quicker as it causes the axle to deflect to the side during articulation. If you have starting issues, missfires, weak power under acceleration or just random shutting down on an early YJ with a 4.2 it is very likely your ICM is faulty, look up the Nutter Bypass. If you want to get rid of it, I will gladly give you $500 for it!
They decided to add a panhard bar at the factory, I just didn't question it and put it back. I read about the nutter bypass, but it was running good enough so I didn't do it
@@HatersGarage The bar was put on because of the old body CJ's stability. They really do not work and always break off. Look at any other solid axle / leaf spring setup, no one runs them, You have better spring travel, and a better ride without it, as the springs can flex up and down without being pushed and pulled sideways, It also messes with steering to a point on bumps. Hit a bump, and it tries to push and pull the axle side to side,
The algorithm suggested this video repeatedly over the last 3 days, so I finally clicked. I enjoy your humor, running dialogue and knowledge as well as the editing, pacing and camera work. Subbed for sure. 👍

Just cut the panhard bars right off. It's a leaf-sprung suspension. Technically, that fights your springs to push them sideways on every bump. I cut mine off 23 years ago and I would never look back. I see the regular car reviews rubbed it's 5 o'clock shadow off on you. Love it
Good content man, keep it up.
Please never change. These videos keep me alive.
Didn't expect THAT through the FM transmitter! 😂 Such a great video! THE VOICES.
I wanted one of these as a kid. But living in Australia as a teenager, I was told Jeep stands for Just Empty Every Pocket. Needless to say I didn't buy one. Kinda nice to see something I wanted as a kid getting some TLC
Jeeps are definitely not the cheapest things to own, especially new ones
@@HatersGarage Yeah I still have the car I bought instead some 25 year later - turbo MR2 SW20. It's just a sunday driver now. I've done nothing other than exhaust work, bushing replacements and the usual maintenance mechanically. Still makes me laugh what I did to that car in my 20's when I look at photos, absolutely filled with speakers and subwoofers. Now it's pretty much stock. Had I bought that Jeep I wonder what crimes against good sense and taste I would've done to that Jeep.
@@Midori_Ringo So it looked like a Fast and Furious background car in other words. Cool that you've kept it, I plan on keeping my first couple cars forever.
Walking, talking ytp. Love this guy.
pingus usual I see
I'm just leaving this comment on the most recent video so it hopefully get seen. Your videos are a gem of quality content. If vicegrip has two million subscribers (1.8 million being news zonked boomers reminiscing on the project vehicle they sold at a loss over like 4 beers) you realistically should have plenty more than you do now. You should go all in on this, brother. It gives me damn near an hour of non brain slop enjoyable content that is quality. I'd pay $20 a month for it. I'm guessing between 100 and 300 people are in the same boat.
I appreciate that. I don't plan on stopping, as I accrue more money I can buy more junk and parts for more videos
The stupid slave cylinder recently died in my Ranger. I usually end up with major "while I'm here" never ending project syndrome but somehow I managed to take the trans out, install an eBay slave/throwout and reinstall the trans while completely ignoring the leaking everything during the project. I feel like a new man.
I could probably ignore that stuff if I tried really hard, would be difficult though
I have a Jeep I’ve been fixing and daily driving for the past 4 years. MOPAR OR NO CAR had me in tears 😂
When you have a mopar, you have no car. (I also dabble in mopars)😂😢
I have owned my 1991 (with a CJ front-end conversion) for 23 years... best toy ever.
best car mechanic youtuber out here, i actually stayed entertained and watched the whole entire video for once
i would end myself if i had to use a harbor freight flaring tool for ALL of my hard lines dawg. you are the sole reason I finally bit the bullet and bought my celica project car. i had to replace the brake line and got one okay flare out of the harbor freight and then never achieved it again. you're a real trooper
My fingers were hurting by the time I was done. I'd like to have a 3rd gen Celica hatch, I might try to get one soon. Good luck with yours
@@HatersGarageI have the lame 6th gen, but a 3rd gen would be sick if you can find one thats not completely rotted out
Nice little rebuild. Thanks for putting a YJ back on the road. Now EFI swap, stroker, lift kit it! You wont....
Just cut the panhard bars right off. It's a leaf-sprung suspension. Technically, that fights your springs to push them sideways on every bump. I cut mine off 23 years ago and I would never look back. Better ride too. The whole reason they break off is that the leaf springs do not want to push sideways!
sell for $2000. buy more piping for exhaust system testing
Man, you have a incredible voice. All that "OWW" "A HA" "YAMMY" "I SEE DEMEJ" - sounds amazing. God himself ordered you be voice actor, think about it.
I just found you and you’re very entertaining, thanks for making content for us :)
I appreciate it
you know so much about cars!!! i don't know anything about cars but i watched this whole video
This was an awesome video didn't even realise it was over 40 mins until I checked at the end. Keep us this revival style of video 🙏🍺
I have no problem with fixing more junk
The deep voice is gold lmao
This video was highly entertaining and quite fun to watch!
