Thanks! I never thought of that. When my S&W 360 locked up on crimp-jump, I pushed the bullet back in, using a little stick and lots of force. Your method is far better!
Thomas Tommy weak crimps and heavy recoil will cause the bullet to jump crimp and potentially lock up the cylinder. Factory ammo has been known to jump crimp as well.
Unlike the majority of the U.S. I live in the prison state of Komifornia which is infested with the most vile snowflakes imaginable that constantly fantasize of new ways to defile and infringe upon the 2nd Amendment. So I will defer to "lay low" on an all inclusive family photo/video.... I wouldn't want to cause a snowflake to melt... prematurely of course.
I quit loading.454s all the way up to Max pressure because of this. It's much less inclined to do it if you are loaded to a little below the max levels
You can find stories in different forums of people experiencing cylinder lock up with different brands like Corbon, Magtec, Winchester, and a report that surprised me was Buffalo Bore. The last one I seen was in 2014, but I didn't dig real deep. Even reports on 357 Mag ammo. Reloaders need to be critical of the crimps they apply especially for heavy recoiling rounds.

Thomas Tommy he loaded it like that on purpose. This can be an issue with hand loads.
