    I love that my loc lady actually goes on a client by client basis. She told me after looking at my scalp that I should come back for a wash in a month & depending on how much it grows & how my scalp looks she’ll go from there. People workout and get sweaty and do more than others, I’m definitely not wasting 3 months to wash that out my hair 😩

    New subbie. In my research, I have learned that if you are going to put oil on your scalp you should only use light oils. Castor oil us just going to sit on your scalp and can cause build up because it catches every piece of dirt, dry scalp flakes, etc. . I don't oil my scalp at all. So, I have not experienced this phenomenon. So, I am just passing on what I have read and heard from professionals. Bless your hair. You are gorgeous.

    Yes people who are starting locks do your research and wash your hair. Washing your hair especially with cold water closes your cuticles and hair follicles allowing them to tighten and tangled up also securing moisture in your hair. Washing 1-2x a month is ideal depending on how physically active you are.

    It’s so true I’ve had mine in for about a month and I was contemplating taking them out so then I thought about it let me load my hair up with shampoo and conditioner to make the process of removing them easier and I can’t believe what a difference using conditioner has had on my hair it made them so soft and nice it was unbelievable and I don’t have any residue buildup so I don’t understand the myths of all this As if removing locks would be that easy that you could just throw some conditioner on your hair and your locks were just slip out if that was the case it wouldn’t take people weeks to take them out. I wish when I got them done I would’ve shampooed and conditioned them day one

    Washing the starter locs is healthy and fine it actually encourages the locking process because it causes the hair to swell then may upon itself I waited a month and washed it and it was fine didn’t unravel & I’ll be locd two months this week & I spray mine with water everyday night & day & oil my scalp & given that I spray mine everyday it started budding within the first month and they started budding in the back and middle first & it’s funny because I went to my sister baby shower today and this is the type I did it in and it was cute loll

    Please, I wash my hair every two weeks, (I’m 3 months in) and they are locking without a problem, when they fully mature it’ll be once a week... more power to ppl that can go longer, I can’t...I saw a video where a woman said she only washes her hair when she visits her loctician a couple of times throughout the year... I can’t even imagine✌🏾

    I started my locs on Thursday 9/24. I’m not even a week in and I have soooo much fizz. What should I do? What should I be doing with my locs?

      The frizz is part of the journey girl! Just keep your hair moisturized as often as you can . Keep your routine simple . I know that Moisturizing can give more frizz but healthy frizzy hair is better. In a few more months you'll see. 2 strand twists and head wraps helped me a lot .

    For myself guess my question is for a person who has crinkly short hair...when I did my first two strand twist, first off it's not as neat as it looks on softer texture hair...so how can I tell it's budding? Cause it looked messy to begin with..it's a different thing with gray hair totally different

      Eventually you’ll see the two strand twist pattern disappear and budding will start at the mid shaft of the loc.

    Congrats on your journey!
    Looks like you did comb coils first, then did 2 strand twists. I assume that you did the twists to keep the base from separating so much after your first wash--which was a good idea👍🏾

    The uneven locs is why I'm thinking to cut my locs, I would like smooth even locs. I don't think I have the right hair. I need help, I need advice.

    • @jessicab331
      @jessicab331 3 года назад +1

      What do you mean by uneven? Everybody locs frizz. Just get them crocheted if they’re mature and you don’t like the frizz or get instant locs.
