I would drink alot of water and monitor your diet. If you are sweating and it is getting funky, it is most likely from the salt in your sweat. The more water you drink the less you sweat will be salty and make your hair stink. After I go to the gym, I just put peppermint oil on my scalp and it smells like I just opened a brand new pack of gum! You can put peppermint oil in a applicator bottle with a carrier oil (sweet almond or argan oil) this is what I use on my locs
My hair went through the same but once it officially starts to lock and you ends starts to seal the shrinkage gets real but don’t worry it doesn’t last long but overall your hair looks nice and try not to manipulate too much and put a lot of tension on your hair and scalp slows the process down and you don’t want them to start thinning.... (7 months in and loving the process)
I have been getting them for the past month. First time I saw a video say DO NOT PICK THEM OFF I was like utoh I had already picked a few. Then I went to the salon for a retwist/wash she pulled a few off 😂. But now I try to refrain lol try is the key word.
Hey! Im also in cosmetology school (not sure if you are still enrolled) but I watched your other video about why you started locs. Being in cosmetology, I've learned that hair is just hair and not to be afraid to try new things. I am currently a few weeks in (i two strand twisted) and I am so excited for this journey. My hair is about bra strap length when out, but I'd always keep in in braids or a wig because I just didnt have time. I love your channel, I look forward to growing with you! New subbie :)
Hey sis! I graduated about 2 years ago and i work as a hairstylist now! So if you have any questions about anything let me know!!! 😘 I love meeting new cos sisters!
I’m 3 months into the journey. I have enjoyed every part of it and notice that I have the little dangling hairs at the ends but I don’t pull them. I am so in love with the transformation too😊best wishes on your journey and great content sis❤
Girl I would be picking them things off too. I had anxiety watching the video 🤣🤣 I’m reading the comments and I get the narrative about they are representing sealing but they were literally just hanging so I know I would’ve pulled 😬
Congratulations on ur 3 months. I'll be 3 months on July 5th. Some people I watch on RUclips do rip those balled ends off 2 but some don't. One person said someone she watches says it helped loc the ends of their hair. I've never ripped them off. It is annoying and I hate seeing them but I just loosely wrap it around the twist when I see them. I'm looking forward to watching more of ur videos. See ya next time
@@Theedevine.Rose222 yes I made 2 years on April 5th this year. It has been amazing. I've learned so much about locs in general and I've learned how to treat my locs. Thanks 4 asking
Thanks for sharing, you have a very healthy head of hair👍🏾 I only retwist the new growth because I didn’t want product buildup on the locs (lots of frizz as a result) I don’t mind the frizz, but my hair type is similar yours so frizz can be over the top... I’ll incorporate your method on occasions to minimize the free form and see how that works😊
I really needed to see this because i your locs look a little like mine and I thought i was loosing my hair because I found that ball at the end. Thank you for sharing your loc journey
Your hair looks great. I hear the Mango & Lime brand has shady ingredients that are not good for your hair. Not knocking your routine, just passing on info.
Girl... I love your hair! It looks so much like mine! From your videos, our texture is the very similar... I started my babies on 7.10.2020 so I look forward to your progress videos because it gives me a clue as to what my babies are going to look like! Keep it up babes... Stay well beautiful!
I can relate to your videos. I have crazy frizz and was so shocked by my hair growth right away. I started September 12, 2020. My 1st retwist was so cute but was frizzy the next day. I am loving the journey and love your locs. I look forward to more videos.
I came looking for someone’s hair who looked like mine bc this stage has me very discouraged but this helped cause our hair literally looks identical in 3months in rn 😭 I was getting scared
I’ll be 3 months on the 15th!! but if you’re looking for another gel to retwist I’ve been using the Taliyah Wajeed tight hold and out works well and is very light
I just subscribed !! Congratulations on your 3 month locaversary 🥳 I just hit a month and we are hair twins in texture ! you should try out interlocking, it will cut down on you retwisting once a month . I just use a crochet hook and will just do it in the early phases . Can’t wait for more content ❤️
Girl,💁🏾♀️😍 I love love love it🙌🏾🤗 I'm 3mos & 1wk and mines are your length but not as thick😩😭🤣 I'll most definitely be waiting on your videos 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾😍🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Thanks for sharing Beautiful 🥰❤️
to make your retwist last through washes, i put mine in about 8 pigtails and wash, using an applicator bottle to focus on my scalp. Afterwards blow dry the roots and then take the pigtails down and let the rest air dry.
Hey girl ! I just subscribed ! We started our loss around the same time and I also started with coils. My hair is about your length and fullness. Im looking forward to your updates and watching your hair journey as I go though this journey myself !
I went to get 2 strand twist and when I got home I noticed it was anti clockwise and I tried redoing them in a clockwise direction but but comes out in a coil....Any advice?
Twist your hair which ever way it goes. You technically may have more than two textures of hair on your head. Me personally have 4 types of textures... go figure. Genes. So twist it the way it stays. Find the direction. Good luck
Girl I think when I loc my hair (In March) I’m going to get faux locs for about three months to help my hair loc and honestly prevent myself from going through the “ugly stage”. Do you think it will affect my locs negatively? 🤎🤎
Just retwisted my 3 month with the same gel that i bought today on a whim! It's honestly fantastic, the lightest gel iv'e used yet. It must be the new model cause I know regular mango and lime doesn't have the same affect on me
That loc gel going to cause a build-up and stiffness on your brother's hair if you keep using...hopefully you only used it this one time. P.S. Let the frizzy be...at the end your locs will be full and not skinny and stiff looking.
Congrats on three months! Please keep making videos! Also, I don’t think you’re suppose to pull those shed balls off. I’ve only seen a couple videos talk about it and they say not to.
Girl yiu can retwist with water and oil, products should never be used in locs. It will cause build up in the middle of your loc that you cant see and can then lead to mold.
i like this “frizzy” stage, your hair is a nice length because it frames ur face nicely :)
I’m so glad you pulled that little hair off lol my OCD was going crazy lol
12:26 the retwist action
thanks bestie

I'm two weeks in!! So far, I'm enjoying it!
New subbie alert!
One month in and the frizz is crazy! New subbie.
Congrats on starting girlfriend 🤍

I know I'm late but! I'm so glad I found your vid. This is the first vid that is a representation of my locs at the same stage.
Great job hun! Your locs are going to mature beautifully! I hope you continue to document your journey☺️
Thank you so much!! 💗 and I definitely will
Omggg I’m at this stage! Sooo frizzy🤣
I actually like the ends being Looseky coiled at the ends rather than sealing them but to each it’s own
Just hit 3 months as well on the 26th ! Congratulations 👏
Those balls are your ends sealing, let them be, they will somehow shrink back up into the loc sealing the ends
Thank you!! I will try to leave them alone from now on lol
Glad u said that cuz I been picking mines off im 7 months in on my journey
Started only 2 weeks ago and see those so I really needed to hear that
I have been getting them for the past month. First time I saw a video say DO NOT PICK THEM OFF I was like utoh I had already picked a few. Then I went to the salon for a retwist/wash she pulled a few off 😂. But now I try to refrain lol try is the key word.
Oh wow! I been pulling my balls off too. Thanks for feeling me in cause I'm slowing progress pulling them off.
Watching your videos is awesome in the realness that you display really makes me more confident in my own loc journey
Aww im glad 🥰
Ashley Banks... you so remind me off her... fyi.. dont pull your fairy knots off, they help seal the ends... 👸🏾👍🏽
Girl👄
Fairy knots! What a cute name
Omg thank you because I’ve been pulling them out
I already pulled a few 😅
I've been picking them off. I didn't know.

Question...should you put locking gel on your entire loc or only at the root?
only the root that you retwist
I have the same frizz 😭
Looks so good😍
Are retwist good if you do them consistently ? I feel like some people don’t think it’s good for you’re hair...
Retwisting too often can cause damage/thinning on your locs. I only retwist once a month and I havent seen any changes to my hair! 😁
All Things Ken Got it! Thanks for the reply!!
I do mine about once a month and it’s really helpful, but since this journey I realized my hair has been growing fast so last month I did it twice.
😍😍, how many locs do you have ?
I started with 91, ive combined a few since then but I havent counted since... so idk 😭 ill count them one day!
Do you twist right to left or left to right?
