- Marty Robbins was a member of the Grand Ole Opry for nigh on 30 years and without doubt he was probably the most popular act ever to perform there even surpassing the legendary Hank Williams. He thought nothing of going over his allotted time and making sure that the audience (who in a lot of instances had travelled hundreds of miles) got their money's worth. It wasn't just the wonderful voice he possessed, but he had charisma by the bucket load and Marty was probably the only singer who could put a across a sad Country song while that great smile beamed from his face!
Here he sings a song that many artists have sung including Jo Stafford, Jimmie Rodgers, Gene Autry and Bill Haley, but the song belongs to Marty Robbins I think. Видеоклипы
Greatly missed. A rich voice that brought joy even in a sad song.
Love this music, love the singer and will listen forever. Long live Marty Robbins music and his melodious voice
Thank you that's was lovely song love it mmm amen
MARTY ROBBINS REMINDS ME OF HAPPY TIMES
Marty Robbins was one of the first CW artists that led me into the CW genre. A great singer and balladeer.
Love Marty's music
So do I.
Marty was more than a singer. He was a great entertainer. He played the last segment on the Opry because he was driving race cars at Nashville Speedway on Saturday night.
Mary was truly one of a kind. he left us much too soon.
I agree.
Couldn't agree more love my marty and his singing
Wonderful music, I love it.
This was great!!!!!!
My Granny used to sing that song.
i agree, marty owns this song ' perfect
NOBODY could hold a candle to Marty. Sure there are other great male artists, but Marty was the best. Do you know he had an 8 octave voice?. His backup group the Glaser Bros were second only to the Statlers. Too bad the Glasers retired
I don't think he knew how good he really was !
But his bank manager did.
The Lord I love me,the want memto have you forever Lord love you to cos the love me bless us amen
LOVE THIS.LAURIANNE LOWE
Piękny głos ...piekny spiew...przyjemnie posłuchać...pozdrawiam:)
@parrotman1940
I agree with those sentiments about Marty and the Glaser Brothers. Here in the UK Marty suffered through countless cover versions unfortunately. I often wonder what Marty could have achieved if he had taken a full Pop direction after he recorded in New York. With that voice it would have been great to hear him sing even more old Pop standards like he sometimes would record.
@parrotman1940 you are right. he was the best. my favorite singer of all time. saddle tramp is my favorite. my love san angelo pride and the badge she's just a drifter and the list goes on.
I love Marty too, but Johnny Cash is my top favorite. My favorite Marty song is probably either El Paso or Big Iron and I also love Devil Woman.
Do you know what year this is?
