Marty Robbins Each Night At Nine/Because It's Wrong

- Two ballads from Marty; the first is a Floyd Tillman Song which dates from World War Two and was a hit in 1944 for Floyd. Marty probably had the Vietnam war in mind when he recorded his version, but it was never released in his lifetime. The second song is a most appealing self penned song by Marty which also never saw the light of day in Marty's time. Thank goodness for the Bear Family label you well might say. It's Marty's birthday on September 26 and he would have been 83 years young. He is still held in great affection around the world; people know what a great singer and songwriter he was and that there'll never be another like Martin David Robinson.

Just wonderful to be able to listen to all these old records ,, this is real music not like the trash that's played now
A voice that is missed but was the best of the century. He could sing both western and Hawaiian

I never get tired of listening to Marty he is the best
Truly incredible music. No matter how many times I listen to Marty, I always hear something new in the magical lyrics and melodies.
Listening to "Each Night at Nine" reminds me that even though we no longer have a draftee military, there are thousands of family men who stayed in the Reserve or Guard and answered when called to the flag! So to all those brothers-in-arms, we know those "Army nights" are still lonesome, thanks and we pray for your safe return and your family's well-being while you're on duty!
If Marty was still here everyone else could just retire
for sure one of the very best. love his music to. wish Ronnie was still recording.
A Marty fan since very early 50s, and some how I missed hearing these 2 great songs by Marty, each night at nine I recall by Floyd Tillman. Thanks
if i had to choose wich song and singer i could listen to everyday its got to be marty
he is and always will be the best singer ever love marty
So Beautiful. No one else ever came close to matching Marty's talent. Thanks Tarquin. I always enjoy your post of Marty.
I just love listening to him singing
I have been listening to this man singing since the late 1950's, I never tire of hearing him. He may not be the best, but I have heard none better.
Zane Starr He was and still is the BEST!
My opinion, The Best ever. No match for this man. I went to the opry in 1965, My first time there. Marty showed up late, Close to 10: pm. He stay singing until after midnight and no one left. He sang El Paso all the way through 3 times. When he would finish, everybody would cheer, to do it again, And he did. Wow. I was 18 years old at the time. I was all dress up, and I went on stage and no body said or ask why. I even went back stage and talked to Porter. wow. I will never forget. I am now 71 and think about that night often.
Been a Marty Robbins Fan since very early 50s, on of the top 5 voices ever,AKA MR Teardrop

Absolutely the best, I REMEMBER WHEN I LIVED IN Coatbridge my husband and I went to see him in Glasgow he was superb.
The fabulous Marty Robbins. What else can be said ?
I dont know what it is,but every song of an other artist wich Marty choose to sang or to record it,for me the song always sounds better then when it was sang by the artist himself, and I think that the reason will be that Marty for me had the greatest voice with somuch passion in it that every song just sounds right. But this is just personal and I do respect all the other country artist because countrymusic is my kind of music.Once again Tarquin I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you so much! This is my first time hearing this song, and I have endless songs by Marty Robbins

Marty is the greatest ever. Love all his songs .... the best there is. Thanks for sharing !! ( Legend ) 💥💫
one cool cat, like the hustler and the Cincinnati kid
Tarquin, you are to be commended! Floyd Tillman was a unique songwriter and Marty Robbins a unique singer. Each Night At Nine was one of the better efforts by both, though I have to admit, I've never heard Marty do a poor performance.
Thanks for posting this.
thanks Tarquin, without your videos i wouldn't have found these beautiful and timeless classics.
Thank you Bryan. It was my pleasure.
Tarquin, I'll add my thanks also for these great songs by Marty you upload....... The first album I bought by Marty was "Devil Woman" it's special because, I love every song on it, and there are not many albums I can say that about..
My uncle billy had sung this song in his trip to phoinix az withbfour other he wrote for himself
I'm actually English Zane and I love the country singers and songs of the 50's and 60's, but one singer in particular as you may have realised! Is that your real name? Sounds like a character out of a western comic! Greetings from England and thanks for listening and commenting so positively.
Born in Hampshire England July 1939 lived here ever since. My name ... now that is another story.
Love it.
Marty's son, Robby could sound a lot like his father, but he never could quite become as rich sounding, or as authentic as his dad. Marty was the very best.
Thank you .Love this video and songs Only One Marty. Excellent. WONDERFUL Channel
