- This lovely Jean Chapel ballad is from Marty's 1977 album 'Don't Let Me Touch You.' Jerry Wallace had the original hit in 1972 which rose to the 48 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. I noticed on playing back the clip that Marty has got his eyes closed in nearly every photo. He did jokingly refer to this habit on his 'Best Of Marty Robbins TV Show' when he said viewers had been writing in to ask him to open his eyes when he was singing. Marty's reply on camera was 'I can't friends, it hurts!'
One of my favorites
