When I saw this video it surprised me that the Oak Ridge Boys weren’t longtime members of the Opry already-it was good to FINALLY see that they got this honor!
2011??!!!? What in the world took so long for this AMAZING group to be invited? How I’ll miss Joe.💔I’m grateful I was smart enough to keep all my vinyl. Turntables came back, and I can play all my Oaks albums!! 💕😢
I get goosebumps watching this-these guys have played such a large part of my life. I am so happy for them and this honor which is really long overdue. God bless them and keep them healthy so they can sing for decades more! I still can't believe I had the chance to shake their hands....
Oh no…. I saw him in concert had front row seat. He came up to me and shook my hand several times along with the other members. He was such a nice man the whole group was and they played their number one hit songs! They ended the concert singing “Elvira.” In fact we were the last ones out because we were so close to the stage I was able to set my phone up on the stage while I was dancing and swaying back & forth to their music! They came out after the concert & talked to us the lead singer to Exile who is best know for the hit song "I Want To Kiss You All Over" is married to the lead singer of The Oak Ridge Boys so we also got their autograph! I was so close I got great pictures too! What a great loss to Classic Country Music. It seems like we are losing all the Great Ones.Awe....now this really makes me cry as it was stated about Joe Bonsall "But JESUS and his family always came first-and we will see him again on the Promised Day.” Believe me I saw him in concert up close you could "see" Jesus in him! You really could!

I live in Mobile Alabama & I can tell you for sure...Mobile Alabama loves the Oak Ridge Boys...especially William Lee Golden...a PROUD Brewton Alabama man. Mobile Alabama is about 70 miles south of Brewton Alabama on I-65. My best friend's dad grew up with William Lee Golden.

They were doing a show in our town and were staying at a local hotel for the night. I happened to bump into them at the hotel and they are the nicest, most personable and level celebrities I have ever met.

I don't believe that any laws would've been broken had this invite been issued while my most favorite singer was a member of the act. Oh and blowing out his candle will not make any other candle shine brighter especially if they are not even lit in the first place. This is the funniest and coolest invitation to the Grand Ole Opry ever. I do not think this one can be topped. Little Jimmy Dickens dressed like William Lee Golden. Then Joes reaction to the news was amazing. I am glad they were inducted when all 4 of these guys were together and not during William Lee Goldens Leave of absence from the Oak Ridge Boys.

I see the Grand Old Opry follows the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's pathetic example in letting lesser known acts in before some of the most influential and long running veterans like Oak Ridge Boys. Unbelievable. They should be ashamed of themselves. These guys were doing their time long before artists like Carrie Underwood, Josh Turner and Darius Rucker (wtf??) who got inducted in so soon in their careers, it is a travesty that after 36+ years of country music (and gospel long before that) they finally became members.
This is back when it meant something, but nowadays they just hand out invitations like candy. It's starting to get watered down like the Hall of Fame in the NBA, NFL, etc...

I was at the Opry sitting in section 24 the night this happened. What a wonderful night.

It is not Carrie's fault that she became a member before Oak Ridge. Opry decides the order in which they inducted their members, not artists.
