@Venti Views is that the 70-200mm 2.8? I think I might go with this exact setup. I'm upgrading from a Canon Rebel T6i (I've been using many years) with 100-400 ii and didn't realize how incredibly slow and difficult it is to continously track. I think I've maxed out it's capabilities. I won't get started on shooting in lowlight. 😅 It's great to see that there are tracking options for my style and subjects. Thanks!
Make sure your shutter speed is minimum 2x your focal length. If your focal length is 50mm then shutter should be MINIMUM 100mm. When shooting people I go above 1200 shutter speed
Random question. Your white square that is your focus area, on my Sony A7IV is red (instead of white). Until you focus of course, and then the tracking is green. Do you know why that is?
@@bharadwajagudladona1435 Go into your Focus Area menu, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the list and you'll see the tracking option. From there, you can scroll right/left to select the focus area for the tracking mode: Tracking: Wide, Tracking: Zone, etc.
nice tuto but when you are in that tracking spot extended mode, you miss the face and eye every time your spot is not on the face square detection ! we would expect a zone focus area (not necessary tracking one) on the girl with eye AF button activated and it gets the face all the time but, by experience in street photo on joggers, walkers,... this doesn't work well and only spot tracking is reliable. Very disapointed of that poor focusing !
In movement, the focus seems terrible to me, it focused on the unary and behind the head, it focuses on the side. I'm not saying that other brands do better, but they're still very weak when it comes to focusing in motion, at least in your clip it seems so, the focus was on the eyes and face 4% and the rest on the hand and anywhere else. I think the only one that focuses well is the a7RV, and probably the a9iii, but the a7IV is terrible on the move
He's a Sports Knob shooting in Live View that's why. Iv been a pro action sports photog for going on 10yrs and iv never made a video on how to shoot. Only the ones wanting handouts from camera makers do review videos. Or they don't make jack crap in the field just like the lame Landscape photogs here on StupidTube. Ya know....the guy that doesn't sell prints but he will surly charge you $2500 to go on an Iceland photography trip to teach you how to make sellable images!
Fukin' mirrorless shooters shooting action in live view🤣🤣🤣 Someday you'll understand that don't work. If you enjoy missed focus then so be it. I'd think less misses and more images sold would say something but no, it's a style of shooting that will take yrs to die off!
Currently in search of a camera for dog sport photography. This seems like a great option. Awesome video! thank you!!
Yes I’ve shot some dogs with this exact camera and lens set up. It works really well

@@kelseymatarese no it's actually the Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 and I did a full breakdown of the lens in one of my other videos
Great video! Is there an autofocus mode similar to this tracking on the Canon R6 Mark II ? I am choosing one of these two
Don't get either, get the Sony A7C II 🔥
I still get blurry people when they move … is there any common mistake newbies do? I am very new

Please check Focus when Shooting Football
What focus mode would you use for other sports where there are multiple people in the frame?
The “zone” mode and choose a large zone
How do you active the tracking mode with the half click?
You have to change the focus mode to tracking. Then when you halfway press the shutter button it will track the subject

Honestly no idea. I’ve never heard of it being a red sqaure
@@VentiViews Found it! You can change the focus color in the menu.
@@snapjacksonphotography what are the other colors
@@VentiViews Red and white are the two options on the A7IV. I believe it’s under “focus frame color”.
Helpful and informative, Thank you so much!
which lense that you use with the Sony A7IV? Thanks
Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8
How are you recording with your iPhone?
Via the Sony imaging edge app and screen recording on the iPhone
How to turn in on ?
Turn which part on?
@Venti Views Sorry , i mean how to turn on the tracking functionality!
When i am trying on my a7iv , i am never getting that green box with pipes on the side .

Very Helpful Thank you
I feel funny about the colour

great video!
Thanks!

That lag is brutal
Yeah and they shit on Nikon for having less lag than that
Could you explain?
It doesn’t look like that in real life. It must be the recording process.
With mine it's not like that at all. It's perfect for action
