Embers transitioning into this song is one of my favorite things ever. I’m with you, this song instantly became one of my all time favorite Coheed songs
the unsung hero. the everyman who feels like their life has no meaning, and they are not working toward something, they become the savior of the universe.
This Song is amazing This is Josh eppards album. He showed me that he's a elite drummer. He carried this. I'm 36 and been a fan since junior high. Amazing amazing how they keep putting out amazing records.
Yeah the drums slam on this record. Apparently most all of the tracks were recorded separately during Covid. He does a few sweet drum play throughs on YT.
Man, I could barely keep it together listening to this album the first time. Embers of Fire into this song just about broke me. Not to mention, you know, the whole rest of the album. Glad to see I’m not the only one out there reacting to this like that.
@@cafetrey Just got home from seeing them live in Nashville and, yep, it’s just as good live. It screams “anthem” in all the good ways. I was singing at the top of my lungs with tears just rolling down my face. These guys are just on another level.
My favourite part of the song is the escalation of the need to run. Run like they're after your blood, run like they're out for first blood, run like the dead have risen... But it's like, in an aspirational and encouraging way.
My first time listening to this song and the rest of the album was a few hours after it came out on Spotify. I set a timer for about 2:00 or 3:00am so I could listen to it ASAP, just threw my headphones in and laid in bed without any lights one while I listened to the album twice over.
Excuse my language but this album FUCKING ROCKED!!!!! I’m not crying someone is cutting onions around me that’s all! God their music just hits me so hard.
Subbed immediately. This album is top 3 from Coheed for me, and they’ve been my favorite band since 2008. So amazing to see someone appreciate them as much as I do. Thanks man 🙏🏻
Please react to rise, naianasha. Not only my favorite song from them, but I think you’d absolutely love it. I love seeing you express how the music makes you feel. Coheed does that to me everytime. I was blessed to work as a stage hand for them
Hey Kid, there's no shame... I cried the first (few) time(s) I heard this track too. I found your videos while watching all the new videos for the new album and though I've watched many Coheed reaction videos, your love for the band really resonates with me and I feel like SOMEONE finally gets it. Enjoy the concert, man. I'll (hopefully) be seeing them for the first time August 1st and I know I'll probably cry like a baby. 😂
Thank you. They are just more than a band to me and my sister. I saw them on Sunday, and it was absolutely amazing. Enjoy it when you go. Make sure you don't miss anything.
The way they tied in the 21:13 riff at the very end had me replaying the song to find more callbacks. Came way out of left field for them to be hitting nostalgia like that.
I think it sounds much different cuz it ties so much closer to the last album since it’s the first full song on the album. It’s such a beautiful song. This entire album is a consistent repeat. I think my issue with the album is it’s over too soon. And I instantly restart. It’s THAT good. Lol. I enjoyed the reaction, keep ‘em coming.
@@cafetrey most definitely, all of Coheeds short songs that run approx. 3.5 minutes are total nukes. I.e Number City, Goodnight Fair Lady, Blood Red Summer, Lying Lies and Dirty Secrets of Miss Erica Court, Holly Wood the Cracked, the list goes on.
I love finding another one who's now among the fence with us. And if you're into stories, read into the Amory Wars. Most all Coheed albums are based on a story Claudio (guitarist/singer) wrote.
I love those tracks. I listened to them before the album came out. I may do a re-reaction to them once I have completed listening to the rest of the album.
This song is unreal and hits home so hard. The last 2.5+ years have been so hard, obviously, for all of us, and this song really is just that kick of motivation to keep fighting and keep living out loud. 10/10. 11/10. 15/10.
Hey Trey, I’m stepping through life with a whole bunch of my own problems. No shame in letting it get to you. Sometimes it’s necessary. But Coheed has gotten me through some rough times. Appreciate the reaction. Much love and peace.🤙
That was pretty similar to my own reaction. I think most of the tracks on this album have brought me to tears at some point. From this one, it seems like I'm getting residual vibes of "The Pavilion" from the previous album. I find that with Coheed albums, even more so than the "prologue" opening tracks, the first full track really sets the overall theme for the rest of the album. In this case, it feels to me that theme is something like, "Yes, there is hurt. But even amid the hurt, there is love and beauty, and strength to be found in defending it." It's such a bittersweet album, in so many ways. So much unspoken pain, fear, and wistful sadness woven into it that they somehow transform into something that is wholly and fundamentally joyous. It's magic, and it's beautiful.
Just found this channel and it seems that we share the same love and passion for this band. Ive never felt so strongly relkated to an album. The entire album, front to back is amazing. Might be top three albums they have put out
We are a very specific set, when you really get Coheed, you are all in. I’ve tried to get others into them and they just don’t get it and I don’t understand. Claudio writes these songs for me, like I’m living killing me softly. And don’t even get me started on Josh.
Been a fan of Coheed since the beginning and this album hits different. I absolutely love it. Glad to find someone who appreciates them as much as I do. Keep it up man!
Glad you enjoy it! This album and story feel like a turning point for the band. It's nice to come across fans that have been around as long as we have.
Loving your reactions to the new Coheed tracks. I’ve been a fan since 2007 ish and what I love about them is they still continue to surprise me with each release. Looking forward to the rest of your reactions, especially to A Disappearing Act!
This is defiantly my favorite song on the album and gives me all the goosebumps Vaxis I did in one song. This is storytelling in music. It speaks to me so much and sparks my imagination. Getting to see them perform it live was an incredible experience.
I have been listening to At The Drive since they started. Wayyyy before they branched out to other projects like The Mars Volta. I haven't heard of your second recommendation. I will check them out.
Such a great song and i stumbled across this reaction. I am so glad people are feeling the emotion of this album I love this one more than their previous openings except for maybe in keeping secrets but this has a great ebb and flow and range of vocals that really set the album off right I really like the opening riff as well Claudio and Travis still know how to build up to a great chorus. Great video mate!
This album dropped a few days after my SO and I split and I had nowhere to go, I listened to this leaving work to go sleep on a buddies couch and cried like a bitch. I felt at an all time low and this song hit me hard. Beautiful album, can't wait to see them perform it live in Philly in a few weeks

Man if this got you hard, I really can't wait to see you react to Blood, which is one of the most emotional songs in the album. Coheed & Cambria are full of emotional trips in every album, Peace to the mountain hit me real hard the first time I listened to the lyrics.
