      Mine is the end track where he’s singing to his son “Life gets hard so what that’s no excuse or your fault.” As a father, I don’t want to be like my parents and punish my kids because I can’t handle my own stress and problems.

    This Song is amazing
    This is Josh eppards album. He showed me that he's a elite drummer. He carried this. I'm 36 and been a fan since junior high.
    Amazing amazing how they keep putting out amazing records.

      Yeah the drums slam on this record. Apparently most all of the tracks were recorded separately during Covid. He does a few sweet drum play throughs on YT.

    Man, I could barely keep it together listening to this album the first time. Embers of Fire into this song just about broke me.
    Not to mention, you know, the whole rest of the album.

      @@cafetrey Just got home from seeing them live in Nashville and, yep, it’s just as good live. It screams “anthem” in all the good ways. I was singing at the top of my lungs with tears just rolling down my face.
      These guys are just on another level.

    My favourite part of the song is the escalation of the need to run. Run like they're after your blood, run like they're out for first blood, run like the dead have risen... But it's like, in an aspirational and encouraging way.

    My first time listening to this song and the rest of the album was a few hours after it came out on Spotify. I set a timer for about 2:00 or 3:00am so I could listen to it ASAP, just threw my headphones in and laid in bed without any lights one while I listened to the album twice over.

    Hey Kid, there's no shame...
    I cried the first (few) time(s) I heard this track too. I found your videos while watching all the new videos for the new album and though I've watched many Coheed reaction videos, your love for the band really resonates with me and I feel like SOMEONE finally gets it. Enjoy the concert, man. I'll (hopefully) be seeing them for the first time August 1st and I know I'll probably cry like a baby. 😂

    The way they tied in the 21:13 riff at the very end had me replaying the song to find more callbacks. Came way out of left field for them to be hitting nostalgia like that.

    I think it sounds much different cuz it ties so much closer to the last album since it’s the first full song on the album. It’s such a beautiful song. This entire album is a consistent repeat. I think my issue with the album is it’s over too soon. And I instantly restart. It’s THAT good. Lol. I enjoyed the reaction, keep ‘em coming.

      @@cafetrey most definitely, all of Coheeds short songs that run approx. 3.5 minutes are total nukes. I.e Number City, Goodnight Fair Lady, Blood Red Summer, Lying Lies and Dirty Secrets of Miss Erica Court, Holly Wood the Cracked, the list goes on.

    This song is unreal and hits home so hard.
    The last 2.5+ years have been so hard, obviously, for all of us, and this song really is just that kick of motivation to keep fighting and keep living out loud.

    That was pretty similar to my own reaction. I think most of the tracks on this album have brought me to tears at some point. From this one, it seems like I'm getting residual vibes of "The Pavilion" from the previous album.
    I find that with Coheed albums, even more so than the "prologue" opening tracks, the first full track really sets the overall theme for the rest of the album. In this case, it feels to me that theme is something like, "Yes, there is hurt. But even amid the hurt, there is love and beauty, and strength to be found in defending it."
    It's such a bittersweet album, in so many ways. So much unspoken pain, fear, and wistful sadness woven into it that they somehow transform into something that is wholly and fundamentally joyous. It's magic, and it's beautiful.

    We are a very specific set, when you really get Coheed, you are all in. I’ve tried to get others into them and they just don’t get it and I don’t understand. Claudio writes these songs for me, like I’m living killing me softly. And don’t even get me started on Josh.

    This is defiantly my favorite song on the album and gives me all the goosebumps Vaxis I did in one song. This is storytelling in music. It speaks to me so much and sparks my imagination. Getting to see them perform it live was an incredible experience.

    Such a great song and i stumbled across this reaction. I am so glad people are feeling the emotion of this album I love this one more than their previous openings except for maybe in keeping secrets but this has a great ebb and flow and range of vocals that really set the album off right I really like the opening riff as well Claudio and Travis still know how to build up to a great chorus. Great video mate!

    This album dropped a few days after my SO and I split and I had nowhere to go, I listened to this leaving work to go sleep on a buddies couch and cried like a bitch. I felt at an all time low and this song hit me hard. Beautiful album, can't wait to see them perform it live in Philly in a few weeks

    Man if this got you hard, I really can't wait to see you react to Blood, which is one of the most emotional songs in the album. Coheed & Cambria are full of emotional trips in every album, Peace to the mountain hit me real hard the first time I listened to the lyrics.

    You need to go back in time and check out a real banger like "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth." That song will get you so pumped up.
