The final product doesn't have to he perfect but the pattern, absolutely! I basically rework it until I get a feel for what the best pattern would be :)
Romi, I love how you just go for it! And remain undaunted! Makes sense that you are a scientist, as you use the same curiosity, analytical mind and perseverence towards your crochet! You're an inspiration and so much fun to watch! Keep on creating!
I just went to Etsy and saw your vest selling at $7. Please do not sell yourself short. You should charge more for your hard work. You deserve more money.
CRYING AT THE SCENE WITH UR MAMA AND THE PUPPY😭SO CUTEEE thank u for not cutting that out omg jgkfdgjdf also the runway hole is crazy .... glad u made it home safely! the vest turned out so pretty love the colour combinations!!
Great job, very retro. I was thinking of how to fix the sleeves as you were showing them to us, and then you did exactly what I came up with. You're good at this, please keep going!
The vest is gorgeous. I can see momma cooks good. I live in Chicago too. I'm going to be 68 this year. I'm a man that loves to crochet. I'm completing a baby blanket for my pastors at church. I used the corner to corner Stitch.
I was struggling with what I should crochet for my friend's birthday and he's a boy ... After I found your channel it helped me a lot and I've got an idea also.
Romi! I absolutely love your content! You inspire me to push myself out of my comfort zone in crocheting so I can create new things! I am also working on a simple granny square vest as well, and watching your videos keeps me motivated! Thank you very much for showing us your crocheting journeys!
ooo top down camera, come through production quality! love the vest so much, and the shoulders look so good that width!! thank you for sharing your process :)
Great job! Love the vest! Your patience paid off. It takes a great deal of patience with trial and error to create fabulous crocheted wearables. Please continue to share. You are very talented!
Romi, to save yourself time and a lot of extra work you can crochet over your tails of every color change row except for the very last which has to be sewn over. I usually leave myself a little bit longer tail than usual so it gives more stability. This method saves quite a bit of time and hassle from sewing in tons of loose tails.
It looks great on you. You remind me of me. When stuff doesn't look right I pull it apart and put it back together. I enjoy your channel very much. You are a very very talented young man.
Случайно увидела ваше видео. Мне понравилось как вы хорошо произносите слова, и подробно описываете весь процесс. Жилет получился очень красивый. Творческих успехов и новых идей
Wow your patience is impeccable!! It turned out amazing and it was so cool to see the process! Wow I know it must have been a little heartbreaking to redo those shoulders but it was soooo worth it! Great job :)
Hi! This video here shows how to do a simple granny square. If you want a diagram for how I make all the different types of granny squares (diagonals and such), you should get my pattern in the description. Take care. Video: ruclips.net/video/-4bKNoezvzc/видео.htmlsi=WA8cxyVbgCkxhQ-e
I love you and I love love love your videos! The way you work is so much fun to watch and makes me feel better about having to stop and start and reconsider pieces I’m making. You’re an awesome inspiration and such a sweet person. Keep being you and doing what you do! Love and blessings to you and your loved ones. ❤ PS The vest looks amazing!
Honestly don’t mind criticism of your fiber choices. You’re making wearables so the priority is how you feel with them next to your skin. People can be responsible for making use of their own stashes and fibers instead of dictating yours
I adore your videos 🥰 also i admire your ability to frog and redo things. At the same time, if i crocheted at your speed maybe I'd be less afraid to frog things too 😅😅 Also yess masking king 👏🏽👏🏽
Absolutely LOVE this video. I'm making a granny square shawl. I know now what my life was missing....half granny squares!! Thank you!! I love how you strive for perfection. Beautiful.
I'm gonna be on your side from the get-go; I've been fully into making garments lately and have like exclusively used cotton and have tried a multitude of different cottons, and WATG Shiny Happy Cotton completely one of my faves! K+C from Joann is probably my tied 2nd with Hobbi's Friends 8/4. Both well priced, great quality, and accessible.
@@Showmeromi it’s so good! Used it for the first time recently to freehand this mesh too and loved it so much. I agree that the colors are very limited. At least there’s some good ones
Wow I just found your channel and I have been binging your vids, and I just now went back to your channel home page to pick the next one, and saw you just uploaded! I'm early! here at 22 seconds!!!!! I love your vids, you have a new sub (and I'm extremely new to crochet but still love watching your videos!!) You are so skilled for only just starting in September!!! I doubt I could get that far that fast lol
This is so cool! I kind of wonder if it would be possible to adapt the pattern to accommodate extra space in parts of the front - not so much a women's version with more room in the chest (I'm sure those patterns exist!), but more how it might be adapted for men with a large gut but not as much fat in the chest or back, since that's relatively common in older men
You would just have to add two more rows of squares to the front (to keep everything centered) near the sleeve holes. That would widen the sleeves while keeping a similar neckline. I write up a pattern that shows how to adjust square placement for longer and wider bodies, since it can be pretty complicated with diagonals
Omg, please spill where you got that white yarn! I'm always on the hunt for bigger skeins of yarn, especially for more yarn eating projects like this! Love the vest❤️ and I commend you for keeping at it. I have abandoned so many crochet projects because I don't have the patience to redo something for the third+ plus time😭
I lost the label but it was something like super saver at joanns! Its a bit scratchy but love the amount. All my yarn balls from this project are still half unused!
your videos are super chill and informative, I'm completely obsessed with them!! hope to get to your level of expertise one day :) btw do you also know about pattern designing? are you self-taught?
I like that you did the project with more affordable yarn! Personally I prefer to cough up the extra money for more premium yarn I hate the sound/feel synthetic yarns make when I work with them. Like nails on a chalkboard
Slightly off topic, but I LOVE working with cotton yarn. I'm using Lion Brand Coboo for a project right now, and it's perfect. Some cottons break down pretty quickly with friction (I have a lanyard that isn't in fabulous condition...) but I still love using it. I say bring on the cotton! Woo! Also, I haven't tried linen yarn yet, but I want to. I'd love some testing or recommendations if that's your thing. :)
Cotton rocks! Sure, I've never done a testing video because before because I'm scared that if i buy ten balls from different companies but don't like any that I'll be left with a bunch of yarn with no purpose. I'd love to do a "find the best cotton yarn" or something :)
I love your vest .....was tempted but maybe no...its the boobies - dont need to make mine look bigger 😂 Finished vest ...Great job - looks amazing. xxx
the vest turned out amazing! i really admire your commitment to the project and frogging and redoing all the parts you didn't like

So worth it🙌🏼

That's a great vest. I like the squarish one for casual days.
ooo top down camera, come through production quality! love the vest so much, and the shoulders look so good that width!! thank you for sharing your process :)
Thank you! That top down double camera situation is the best decision ever 😂 i used to just lay on the floor to try and fit on cam
it looks so great! im glad you made the decision to re-do the sleeves like that. i think it really polished the whole garment
Thank you!
Romi the vest is beautiful...this was like a docuseries, A Day In the Life of a Crocheter, lol...

Hi, kevin. Thank you! I usually do this, with the exception of the magic loop tail, which i haven't figured out how to neatly tuck away as i go.
Beyond beautiful!! Truly talented and gifted!! Glad you had a wonderful time with your parents. Until next time, many blessings!! 💜🤗💜

Amazing work! and I feel your pain with frogging...I made a granny square cardigan last year...still recovering from that.
i love your videos so much, i almost always crochet along to them. its so cool seeing your process of making things freehand
Thank god you posted, I needed a pick me up
Admire the commitment! Looks great ❤
Vest looks great. You have inspired me to do a project video and recreate my boyfriend's favroite sweater. Thanks for your work.
Your jacket and sweater are deadly!!!! i want!! also, love watching the whole piece together process, it makes my brain happy :D :D :D

Thank you! Yes my last few projects have required a lot of backtracking. It's painful but I press on :)
Lovely vest!! And omg, the hole on the runway!?!? Crazy
It happened minutes before we boarded... and they took three hours to tell us what was going on. Wild!

Yeah self-taught but I've been told my patterns are good, which makes me super happy! I'm making a vid on how to design patterns soon :)
@@Showmeromi yay! :)
How do you custom granny squares like you do 1/4 and 3/4 I guess I need to look that stuff up too
I wrote it into the pattern in case you don't want to figure it out on your own, but i just trialed it crocheting
So cool you reverse engineered this. I've seen this vest shared around on "masculine crochet ideas" videos before but never with a pattern. Go you!
I featured it in one such video two months ago and have been wanting it since!
A lot of will power to make that vest work lol, i couldn't your stronger than me

If they are under i think 3inches long you can bring them!

What type of granny square did u use ???? Please somebody tell
Solid. You can get my pattern for more details on the four variations of it I came up with.
how much time
About a week
Ohh, I didn't know you are dominican! 🇩🇴 pásala bien!
There’s just a pothole on the runways what 😂😂😭
Dannnng ..sexy, and the vest look good too. Haha, jk, you're so talented, and truly rock that vest
looks 👍🏼. You keep calling them diagonal squares or half granny squares- they look like Granny triangles.
There's diff kinds of granny triangles so I am specifying so folks know it's a diagonal and not the more common equilateral.
That is exactly what they r.
I would like to know, how did u start it? Did u start it like a rectangle n then only did the GS st a rnd the 3 sides? Back n forth?
@@NSynCreatively if you start as a rectangle it ends as such. Start on the edges and go back an forth. More info in the pattern :)

If i used one or two less rows per square i could have totally avoided the boobies! Hahaha. Thank you!
