How many times have we all been in a very similar place? I had a sweater that I'm like this with maybe ill take out the middle row and make a cardigan.....
The Buttoned up vest looks so much better. You did a fantastic job. I also thought about making the bottom square white and using the atterned ones as pockets,
I've passed up this yarn a few times but finally picked it up today because of this video and it's really fun to work with! Planning on making a bag for produce!
Crochet is a roller coaster ride when it comes to making a vest, cardigan's, sweaters and with that said... This turned out just FABULOUS . Thank you so much for the video 🧶🧶🧶
Thank god i found this video I was going to make a sweater but the color combo looked weird and didn't no whether to continue or not. Now I can make it to a vest without wasting more yarn 👍
I loved your journey with this vest!! I just ordered some of the granny square yarn and plan to follow your lead in the open vest. I love a good vest! This will be my first vest project and I will be using this video 😍
Excellent. I love this yarn , bought a bunch. Made the granny square bag (huge), cute, but too big. I think your version of the vest will be my next go around. Thanks for working out the bugs for us! I might try navy for the edges and ribbing.
Thanks for this! You confirmed what I planned to do. I made the same pullover vest with the citrus twist for a "candy corn" look for Fall, but I HATED the boxiness of it. And then I thought I'll take out the three middle squares and make it an open vest. I'm sorry you had to go through all that. Sometimes I have to do the same thing, But I always learn something for the next time.
The after of the vest from the original pattern looks great. If we all, as crocheters, adjust to fit ourselves, garments will work better for us. I learned this from a pattern I made. A lot of garment patterns are not sized for plus-size and those that are, come out small. If adjustments are small, the pattern will work. If the adjustments are big, the pattern will not work and is not for me. You did a great job adjusting this pattern for you.
Honestly I’ve had so many skeins of that yarn and didn’t like the original pattern, THIS however👀 so cute seriously so excited to make it cropped with long ribbing on the bottom for spring💖
i’m so glad you made these videos, i was so tempted to make the original vest but i wasnt sure i’d like the fit. i’m currently halfway through a queen size blanket in the “soft white - pink punch” colorway, and i will definitely be doing this afterwards 🩷
Thank you so much for this video! 👏👏 I have made this exact vest & ribbed the bottom. I hate the look of it & it sits in my wardrobe & im not going to wear it the way it looks at the moment. 🥴. I love your finished vest & will definitely remove the middle squares from the front of the vest. Cheers 💕👏🥰❤️🤗😍
I’m making some of the all in one squares right now. I also made 2 half/diagonal ones cause I think I’ll like a v-neck. Yeah, lots of ends but no more than a typical granny. I haven’t decided on a lay out yet, or even open vest or sweater or pullover vest. For sure not a pullover sweater. I also like your finish….. such decisions…. 💚💚💚💚
Thanks so much for posting this! I’ve been looking for inspiration for an open granny square vest! Do you have any tutorials you liked for adding ribbing ??
OH my god. ive been having the exact same struggle with a tank. Im a big girly and ended up needing 5 x 5 so i looked hu mungus. Icant wait to get home and rip it apart ,, woop woop so Happy. x x Thanks From Anita in Spain
i think a beginner could make that. personally started clothing (and anything aside basic single, half, and double stitches) with a vest that had ribbing on the bottom the neckline and the arms and that wasnt the hard part (that was meeting gauge which eventually ended up as a close enough. it still turned out fine though)
I honestly think you in your vest would have been a better picture to put on the red heart labels than that boxy thing they have now. It looks SOOOOO much better than the life jacket 😊
Anybody else go to swimming lessons and have flashbacks to the teacher going "It's not a life jacket it's a PFD" 😂 (Personal Floatation Device, because I guess they don't want to promise that it will actually save your life?)
ya know, I bet a big reason why they included that ugly vest pattern is because you can make it with all of the granny squares that come in one ball regardless of whether it's cute or not... It smells like an executive decision by someone who never actually saw the vest in person 😆

Somehow this vieeo makes mw feel better abour needing to frog my raglan sweater for the third time.
✨🎀magic🎀✨
Thank you for showing us your journey instead of just pretending it all went smoothly.
My projects never go smoothly 😂 and when they do i know i did something wrong haha
And that’s why I enjoy your channel.
Man, I was so invested in this project. The journey was chaotic yet comforting, and the finished vest?!?? LITERALLY THE CUTEST VEST! ❤
Wow what a difference that made! Now I can make mine! I love the creative process even if it does involve lots of frogging.
I am so glad you included all your trial and error moments!
Creativity is a process. Well done for persevering.

The buttons colour probably works as well as it does because you have those blue tones in the square too

ohhhh yes this turned out FANTASTIC
Your unstyled hair is so cute!

Thanks for letting me watch your all of the videos all of items and products are very lovely 😍 👌
OMG I would wear that. Sooo much better than the original. The fit is great
Thank you ! I am going to make your vest design - it looks great! I love your cheerful funny crocheting and I can relate to everything you go through!
I loved your journey with this vest!! I just ordered some of the granny square yarn and plan to follow your lead in the open vest.

in love with how this came out and the colors!

You just made my job easier. Thank you,

it's funny because you also could do sleeves, either with squares or just white and it would be a nice cardigan
So glad you picked out the stitches rather than cutting it! Looks cute :)

The pink punch yarn is my favourite squares on my cardigan 😊

I’m so happy you made the vest into something you love! Looks so cute now :)
You can make a matching tote bag or something from the leftover parts!

Oh my goodness! This looks way better than the first!
Beautifully 😍 awesome job 👍🏾
it's far better the way it is now

It's beautiful!!
Such persistence to save it.
Beautiful! I like the way you think and work. Thanks for all of your efforts. Nonie Lee
I love it! It turned out great!
So so cute like this!! You did such a Good job! ❤
Made this and soooo cute! Now teach me how to make sleeves

Thank you for all your pain so we don’t have to suffer! 😂❤
michelle please be my grandpa 👼
😂😂
Love your videos and happy I'm one of the first comments!
You need it, but Totoro kneads it! (I’ll see myself out)
Hello Michelle, love the videos. Do you get granny squares wet before putting them on your blocking or peg board? Thank you!
Nope! I just leave them dry when blocking and they turn out great!
Anybody else go to swimming lessons and have flashbacks to the teacher going "It's not a life jacket it's a PFD" 😂 (Personal Floatation Device, because I guess they don't want to promise that it will actually save your life?)
“TRAPA” sent meeeee😂😂😂😂
I’m glad someone got the reference 😂😂

Just had to give it a like so it wouldn't be at 666 😆. The video was great also!
