If you have your router on battery backup or have the Ring Alarm Pro (has backup internet) then you can leave the battery on the camera and it will still work when power is out.

    • @xxxgabaxxx

@@LifeHackster that's my main question. If power goes out, will it switch automatically to battery? If that's the case. If I plan on wiring the camera, is there a reason why I should go with the wired one instead of the battery? It sounds like the battery powered is better because it will work when the power is out.

I noticed you have an aftermarket security camera there. I also have an aftermarket home camera system in 10 locations outdoors, but those cameras are COAX and quality is horrible. Do you think the power going to those cameras can be used to power the ring cam? I have access to each Pos/Neg power cord to each camera. I am wondering if there is a way to send the correct power requirements to the camera, and instead connect that power to the Ring Stickup cam. Any suggestions?

I am having a problem with my cameras going off all the time at night due to vehicle headlights setting of the motion sensor off on the camera. I have tried moving the sensitivity and the quadrant of the camera but nothing works. I called customer service and got a foreign speaking person who had no idea what she was doing and did not understand my problem. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she told me that they do not have one. I chatted with customer service on line to find out were to file a complaint and got the run around. Listen I think the product is great but your customer service is the worst. You hired people from third world countries because it was cheap. You threw a script at them and said here you go. When a person has a problem the last thing they want to here is a foreign speaking person that has never seen or used the product. Now what am I supposed to do with my problem??
