Good video. Yours is the only one of about a dozen videos that explained the power cables connecting the indoor with the outdoors one. Thanks have a good one from West Tennessee
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!! My husband always tries to tell me he knows what he’s doing and refuses to watch videos. He was paying really close attention when I started playing this one 😂 Thank you, beautifully explained!
A very well explained video. Thankyou for taking the time and effort to produce it. The one thing I found in setting up my 3rd generation RING stick up Cam for outdoors was that the supplied 8ft. of power supply cord was not enough length to keep the charger out of the weather because I would prefer to have that on the inside. For those of you who want to take the same weather resistant precautions, I was able to find on Amazon as a separate purchase the Ayotu 26ft/8m Power Cord that has a detachable USB Adapter made for the Ring 3rd generation Stick Up Cam to make that possible.
Good instructions, thanks. I'll install mine outdoors under the eaves. It will be protected from the weather. There's a plug about five feet directly below. It looks like the eight foot cord will reach it nicely. Is there any reason to connect the longer cord that's for outside use?
Thanks for watching Stacey! I went the cheap route and used finishing nails. I nailed them into the wall and then bent the end slightly so the cord would rest on them. I didn't drive the nail through the cord. lol
Excellent review with an explanation of the cabling. So many AI reviews of the power cabling on RUclips that don't even show the cables. The extension cord option on the other sites and on the Ring website are not clear. Thank you.
@@dewaynedonaldson2486 took it back to home depot for an exchange unfortunately it was the same issue no solution so far I don't want to be wasting time going to different places for the same problem.
I do not, but I do have the perfect place for the flood light. It is already wired, so all I’d need to do is swap it out with the light that’s already there.
I got my cam with the plug but yesterday it won't let me see live it says that my battery is low, I don't have battery on it. And is static when people are talking as well, what should I do
This is an on going and frustrating issue with the plug in stick up cams. Been looking for a reviewer or someone online who is also having, talking about, or testing this issue.
Same issue, brand new Stickup Plugin….Wired Only!! It show me as critically low battery…Waiting for someone to post about this issue. On the Ring community forum, the response is always “charge your battery”… What battery? 🤦🏽♂️
I don’t think so, but the Ring Alarm Pro has backup power and local recording to keep your wifi going and recording. And if you add a battery to this camera you’ve got a great setup.

How do you get the L shape wire through the wall?
Great video!! Told me everything I needed to know and answered all the questions I had. Thank you 😊

Thank you Rachel!
Thank you very much ❤
Great video. Very helpful. What did you use to hang the cable along the wall?
This has helped me tremendously. What clips did you use to attach the wire to the wall?

You're welcome! Its funny. I just did a video over AI, including AI RUclips channels. Thanks for watching!
Good tutorial! Dude, do a leaf blower tutorial from your garage!! haha....
How long is the power cord
Got this exact indoor/outdoor stick up cam however the outdoor power adapter won't clip on.
I'm having same problem did you figure it out

Nice tutorial. Thx.
Is it mandatory to get a Ring Subscription, in order to use this stick on cam? I’m not interested in paying a monthly subscription!
Nice device
Do you have the ones with wider coverage?
I do not, but I do have the perfect place for the flood light. It is already wired, so all I’d need to do is swap it out with the light that’s already there.
Hey thank you very much for this tutorial! Is it possitble to put a Ring Battery Pack in the PlugIn Version?
Yes it is.
@@diypreppertv You're great! Thank you for the quick reply!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
What size are the wall anchors?
This one or the spotlight cam?
Does the power cord for outdoor use connect to a standard wall plug?
Yes it does
I got my cam with the plug but yesterday it won't let me see live it says that my battery is low, I don't have battery on it. And is static when people are talking as well, what should I do
When you did the setup did you set the camera up as plug in or battery?
@@diypreppertv since I got it like 1 year o 2 years ago

What if the WiFi goes down before something is going to happen? Does this device have a internal recording for Wifi backup?

Great 👍
Good video......
Thank you!
Rings Wifi connectivity is always saying poor no matter how close you are to a router
